Tree boy, and eye balls, and meetings, oh my!

Bensha was sitting in a rather secluded area of the park, away from the crowd. It was a bit off into a grove of trees, and the lighting there was incredibly comfortable, even with the sun blazing above. There were children, and parents, shouting in the distance, but Bensha had learned to block annoyances like that out during his meditation.

He had his legs crossed in front of him, right leg on top of the left. His hands were placed gently into the grass beneath him, caressing the blades absent mindedly. His mind was nearly completely separated from his body, and nearly completely separated from thought. He was in a state of complete and total relaxation.

Izigin's day had been quiet at first. Wake up, get dressed, go to the Hokage's Building to check on various things and then be cut loose until an appropriate mission came along. Then, during his daily run, he'd been approached by a messenger and told he had a team to attend to now. That was news. He'd broke his run short and gone to find them all, though that was a task. Evidently, it was -his- job to gather all three of them for a team introduction, which was just fan-fucking-tabulous, it would have really killed that messenger to go tell the Genin they had a team leader now. Instead, he'd been given some names and some vague 'We think they were seen last at' locations.

Surprisingly, his team comprised of a Senju, the Host of a Genma and a Medic-nin boy, all of whom were more or less exceedingly skilled Genin. How they got placed in the care of his teaching was a complete mystery, as the last time he remembered he was considered a less skilled Jounin by the majority. So it would be interesting to see how his team grew around him as a leader.

The place that they'd directed him to find the Senju, Bensha as his name was, was extremely vague. 'Likes to be in parks'. That was about as good a clue as 'Likes to breathe air' or 'Sometimes consumes food' for locating someone, so he'd spent the vast majority of his morning visiting park after park after park. By the time he found Bensha, he was considering hunting down his messenger and strangling him with the mail sack.

He spotted the boy sitting in the park, his meditative stance obvious even from a distance and as Izigin closed in, he simply decided not to interrupt the man but took a standing position a few feet away, close enough to be noticed but not enough to disturb hopefully. He leaned up against a tree there and looked out over the park now, waiting for the boy to snap out of it.

While he'd learned to be able to zone out playful shouts in the distance, his shinobi training and taught him that quiet sounds very close to you were incredibly suspicious. Bensha slowly opened his eyes, trying not to make a show that he'd noticed the foot steps. As he opened his eyes, he found himself looking at a fellow ninja, an older one, that was leaning against a tree and facing away from him.

"Hey, man."

[Versesai]

"And a good morning to you too, Mister Senju." Izigin replied casually, reaching up to rub a fleck of sleep out of his good eye. He turned to Bensha quietly and nodded at him, stepping over to close the distance towards him whilst kneeling down as he got within arm's length, offering his hand to shake. "Pleasure to meet you." he said, smiling a bit as he knelt there. There were rumors among the Jounin of Bensha, but nothing he'd repeat in polite company and certainly nothing he'd actually believe himself. The Senju were loyal protectors of Konoha and more than that, they were the most venerable clan in the Village, so it was an honor for him to be able to teach one. If the boy was up to having him as a sensei, that was.

"My name is Izigin. I've been assigned to your team as the Instructor." he explained, fairly simply. He didn't exactly feel like dragging it out like some people might have, he was oddly relaxed about the whole concept. "You know, I'm surprised. Meditation. Not that it's a bad thing, but usually Genin your age are worried about advancing or acting like kids, even the rare one busting their ass training." he said now, standing up after either Bensha shook his hand or didn't shake his hand for a bit, crossing his arms over his chest. "What are you meditating on?"

Bensha shook his hand with a relaxed grip. Not that he was weak, but he just didn't feel like putting much effort into it. "Well, I'm not meditating on anything specific, really..just..relaxing. I dunno if they told you when they assigned you or not, but I have like...this plant that lives inside of me, and slowly feeds off of my Mokuton chakra. Meditating in the sun satisfies the plant, and it's relaxing for me."

After slipping his hands into his pockets and leaning backwards against a tree, Bensha continued. "Jounin instructor? That's cool. The village didn't take long in assigning us one, which makes me feel like they think we have some serious potential."

[Versesai]

Smirking a bit as Bensha explained what the messengers hadn't explained, Izigin shrugged slightly as he watched Bensha move towards a tree, leaning on it as he spoke. "They didn't tell me much. I wasn't even given your files or Academy papers, I suspect I'll have to go find those myself if I want to know anything. All I know is reputation." he explained, looking towards Bensha again. The man was certainly forward and relaxed, most people would have probably put heavy thought into telling someone else a thing like 'I have a parasitic plant inside me'. How very refreshing.

"I'm not sure why they worked so fast. I suspect it's because your team is practically an All-Stars cast of sorts and you're well balanced." he said now, shifting a little as he stood back up to full height and shifted his neck, trying not to let the conversation stagnate at any point. "What're your interest, eh Bensha? You seem like the relaxed type, not really the type I'd figure for a shinobi right off the bat."

"Y'know...honestly, I'm not really the type to be a shinobi. But, it's the life I'm destined to live as a Senju clan member. I'm just hoping I find a specific area that better suits my interests and personality, a niche within a niche." This guy seemed to be oddly interested in Bensha, which sort of stood to reason considering he was going to be teaching him and the others the ropes. He seemed like a cool enough guy, so he was totally down for learning from him. Being able to get along with an instructor, to Bensha, was more important than being able to learn from him. "And, yeah, I guess we are a pretty cool trio. We've got defense, offense, and heals covered, and our skills are only going to compound as we get stronger. Man, we're gonna rock this shit, bro. No joke."

[Versesai]

The man listened quietly as Bensha spoke, the relaxed tone of the young man summarily relaxing Izigin as the conversation went on. They were different types, but with a similar mindset it seemed. Izigin's chuckle was soft as the young man spoke of hoping to find his niche, though it was mostly because of the way the kid put it. He talked about it in a very suiting, yet odd manner that more or less sealed the kid as the laid back, insightful type. Or maybe it was just how Izigin chose to view him for now. "Oh I believe it. I'm looking forward to training you three." he explained, shifting as he stepped a bit, getting himself back to a position he could walk with.

"Let me just say though, don't get too worried about finding your niche. If you do, you'll lose sight of what you're good at. You can either strive to turn what you have into your strength or you can just focus on it until you find something that catches your fancy. Either way, it's the same thing. Just worry about being a good teammate first, you know?"

Bensha laughed; A light, genuine chuckle. "Man...do I seem like the kind of guy to worry about anything?" He pushed himself gently away from the tree, taking a few slow steps forward. "Since you found me in a grove in the park, I'm assuming you don't need any help tracking down Yasu and Kawa, ya? I'm pretty sure I could help you find them, though, if you need." Bensha liked this guy. He was willing, even encouraging, to let Bensha do his own thing. The last thing Bensha needed was the man keeping him down, and this dude, at least for now, didn't seem to want to.

[Versesai]

It was true, Bensha didn't exactly need help in relaxing and not worrying part. He was the type who was going to handle things extremely well, it seemed, though Izigin would test how that applied to combat readiness another time. The boy did offer to help him track down the other two, though he shook his head a little. He was already aware of where to find Kawa, though Yasunari still eluded him. By all accounts the boy still wandered in the village of course, but it was nearly impossible to find him most of the time unless he came to you or someone saw him. Izigin wasn't even sure if he had a permanent address anywhere. "Hm...I think I'll be fine, but have you seen Yasunari recently? I've been looking for him, but I haven't been given access to files just yet; I don't know where he lives." he said now, though he flinched as he said he hadn't been given access to files yet. The fact he was having his clearances reinstated for those kinds of personal files and he'd only recently been reinstated into active duty wasn't something he was ready to admit, especially to a student.

Bensha shrugged, not really catching the importance of his new mentor's words. He just assumed that he hadn't been given the files because of some bullshit red tape that The Man had put into place. "Nah, I don't really see him much. And, when I do, it's usually Kawa that's our gobetween. So I'd go find Kawa next, he probably knows where you could find Yasunari."

Even though he wasn't really the type for combat, Bensha was a bit excited for their first task under the Jounin. "So, any idea what our first assignment is going to be?"

[Versesai]

Nodding gently, Bensha explained the order of the team pretty nicely. Bensha and Yasunari were basically separate and Kawa worked as the team's general person, which meant he'd need to find Kawa next and have a talk with him. Maybe he'd organize some kind of team meeting at a training ground, but he had no interest in it just yet. He needed to meet them all before he worked out what kind of meeting they'd have.

Bensha's question made Izigin nod a little and he turned to him, saying "I don't particularly know what our first assignment is going to be. I've heard some rumblings that we might be heading on a B-Rank though, but that's not something I'd count on. Knowing the council, they'll make us stick to C-Ranks."

"Jeesh. Well, I sure hope so. I mean, with a jounin at the helm, I'm sure we could probably get the task done for a B-rank mission, but I really doubt that any of us are ready for that level of trouble." Bensha quickly checked his pockets by patting down his pants, making sure that he hadn't lost anything while sitting in the grass. "Well, man, I need to get going. My moms should have dinner done pretty soon, and I've got some serious munchies. So, I'll see you in the near future, ya?"

[Versesai]

The jounin nodded gently at the man's general attitude over this. Some Genin would have heard 'B-Rank' and wet themselves, some would have been braggarts. Bensha's 'well that sounds tough but we can do it' attitude was pretty good. He was already mature enough to handle things, it seemed, though he had a certain lazy attitude that would be interesting to explore later on. "I'm confident they won't screw with us, really, but we'll see what happens when we get there."

Then Bensha made the comment and it ended the discussion, causing Izigin to nod gently and shift his feet, waving his hand at the man as he shifted his body and said "Alright. You have a good day, Bensha. I'll see if I can round up the rest of you and we'll have a team meeting..." he said, reaching up to shift his eye a bit. Though for a moment, he hesitated. He felt it appropriate to make some plans. "Though, maybe I'll drag you out sometime and we can talk more. I know a good food stand close to the Academy practice grounds, might be a nice place to reflect." he said, then he nodded to the boy finally, grinning as he raised a hand.

"Goodnight."

And Izigin turned on his heel and moved to walk off from the area, towards the exit of the park.

Bensha headed home, taking his time as always. While he was really hungry, it wasn't anything to get in a hurry over. He'd take his time, enjoy the walk, the weather, and the environment.

He really did like this guy. He seemed chill, but still serious enough to get the job done. Hopefully Kawa and Yasunari would like him too. Bensha didn't see any reason why they wouldn't, he seemed to be a really easy guy to get along with. Bensha felt that, over time, this guy could grow to become just as much of a friend as he was a mentor.
