Mission: Recipe for Ramen

[Ace Trainer]

The woman sat on her porch, watching the sun drop into the sky, waiting for a ninja to arrive per request. She had left her book at a ramen stand somewhere in town, but couldn't remember which, due to her age. There were three ramen stands in town.

• A green one, with 4 stools at the bar, 2 individual, 4 seater tables. It had a revolving door for an entrance, so it wasn't so much a stand. The proprietor for the stand was an elderly man with white hair and thin wrinkles.
• A blue one, with 7 stools, it was an open stand. It had benches on both sides of the stand. And yellow banners hanging from the top. The proprietor for the stand was a middle aged woman with shining blue eyes and black hair.
• A red one, with 5 stools, it again, was an open stand. It had a paper lantern hanging on both sides of the stand, and green banners hanging from the top. Each of the stools had a koi design on the top. A young man had recently opened this shop.

Upon arrival on the requested mission, Ryuji walked past numerous ramen stores, all filled up with customers because of the cold weather; his stomach growled every time as the aroma made his eyes light up and made him want to rush in to get a bite. He had barely eaten today. His parents had already left the house to go shopping, and he was forced to eat all the leftovers for the day. This had a large effect on his daily routine. His training was off, and he couldn’t be bothered with his mission, so he spent most of the day lying underneath the clouds and relaxing.

The sun was hiding beneath the clouds as it began to set, as it displayed a beautiful sunset. There was a cold breeze which made him shiver. Ryuji didn’t like cold weather. He preferred to wear light clothing, and having to wear extra made him feel uncomfortable. The blue jumper he wore was a bit too large for him; his parents had also hung out the washing earlier and he was forced to borrow his fathers jumper. He let out a large yawn before finally reaching the place, wiping his face while seeing a woman on the porch. Presuming this was the right address, he shouted out to her; waving his arms about like a mad man.

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey~ I am your ninja in shining armor, reporting for duty!"

The woman looked at him, a look of disgust crossing her face as he introduced himself as her "ninja in shining armor." What a weird child. Shaking her heard to rid of the thought, she looked at him. "Well, what're you doing here? Shouldn't they have prepped you what you were doing? Unless you have something you want to ask me..", he said, leaning forward a little in curiosity. Wanting to hear any questions he might have.

Staring back at the woman, he shrugged his shoulders before letting out a sigh. Her disgusted look made Ryuji feel like he was being a bother; all he wanted was a new fresh start to this mission because his last one didn't start out too well. "You don't seem like you're in the best mood. I'll work the rest out myself. Don't worry about it." Rolling his eyes, Ryuji nodded his head to the woman and moved his hands into some handseals. Shunshin no Jutsu.. he whispered, dashing off as a cloud of dust appeared, and reappearing to a nearby street.

Next time, could I please get someone that doesn't have a temper? Thinking to himself, Ryuji strolled down the street and headed to the nearest ramen bar. In the near distance he spotted a few green banners hanging down a store. Ahhh, that must be it! Now sprinting, he reached the store in a matter of seconds and took a deep breathe before ducking his head underneath the banner and sitting down on a koi-designed stool. "Hello. I was wondering if there was a book that was left here by any chance? Someone I know has misplaced it somewhere, and I'm trying to find it." Resting his body back slightly, Ryuji closed his eyes and inhaled the scent of the ramen store, before his stomach started rumbling. Damn. I knew I should have eaten something before I left the house.

*Shunshin no Jutsu [Body Flicker Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. The ninja will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement the ninja will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance.

The woman looked at him disapprovingly as he shunshined off. She was clearly not happy with the situation. When the boy approached the man, he watched him curiously. He was young, but knew how to run a business. And couldn't just go about handing out lost and founds to random shinobi who hadn't eaten at his establishment in several days at the least.

"Yes, yes I have. Several books, in fact. You'll have to get more specific on the book you've misplaced for me to give it to you though..", he said in a very calm, polite tone.

[Ooc: Sorry. I had internet problems for the whole week, so I didn't get a chance to get on.]

Relaxing for a few moments and taking a deep breath, Ryuji listened to the young man speak. He could tell he obviously wanted him to buy something before he said any details; even if he didn't have the book in the first place. However, he soon realized that he had no information on the book what-so-ever, and the incident earlier with the women made him hesitate to get up. "I'll be back soon" he said, quickly rushing out of the store. He had already wasted valuable time and his first impression with the women wasn't a good one. Sighing slightly, he began jogging at a fast pace back to where he was before.

In the distance he could see a few lights flickering as they started to turn on. It was beginning to get darker every minute; his stomach rumbled louder than it did from earlier, and he could now smell the aroma of alcohol nearby. His feet got heavier as he continued to run. The ladies place was still a fair distance from the nearest ramen store, but he finally managed to get there in one piece. Sliding his hand back into his pocket, he gripped onto the sheet of paper and checked to see if it was the correct address. Nodding his head, he looked back in the woman's direction.

"I know this sounds a bit dumb, but I forgot to ask about anything on the book. Could you give me details on who it was by? Maybe.. what the picture displayed on the front? And... sorry about earlier, my parents are stressing me to get home early because I have to help prepare dinner." Turning his head away for a second, Ryuji had a small smirk on his face. He had told a lie about his parents just so he could try and clear off his first impression, and he knew that she probably couldn't tell because she knew hardly anything about him. Turning his head after looking at the nearby scenery and removing the smirk from his face, he commented on what he saw.

"You have some great looking plants." He said, trying to cover up his smirk. Placing his hand onto the leaf of a plant, he leaned over and took a whiff.

The man nodded, and smiled as he watched the boy go away, knowing he'd be back soon. As the arrived, the woman grinned at his appearance. "You have my book already..?", she asked happily. Her face quickly dropped when he began talking, however.

Scowling, she nodded. "yesyes. Some sort of love story, I think. Perhaps a sad story. Something on the more feminine side of literature, that's for sure.", she said with a genuine smile. Obviously slightly happier after he had complimented her plants.

"Anything else?"

The joys of the person hardly knowing anything about the book they read.

Bringing his head back from the plant, Ryuji looked in the direction of the lady. Her description of the book was dull, which had hardly helped him in his current situation. Appreciating her words with a smile, he nodded his head once again and brought his hands together, bowing in thanks, and then dashing off to the previous store.

Reaching around half way to the ramen bar, Ryuji stopped in his tracks. His shoes grinded against the path below him, as he had completely forgotten about using his ninjutsu.Wow. I'm such an idiot. I could have saved so much more time. Moving his hands into the correct handseals, Ryuji announced the words "Bai Chouyaku!" and launched his body into the air, channeling his chakra. As he reached the tip of his jump and started to descend, he pushed off the chakra from his feet and leaped the second time on top of a nearby building. Continuing his routine, he jumped from multiple roofs, finishing it off by flipping off and landing onto the top of the ramen bar.

Sliding his feet forward, Ryuji landed on his behind and slid down the green banner. Face-planting almost immediately afterward, Ryuji shook his head and rubbed his forehead, kicking his feet upward and bringing his body back up to solid ground. As a small bump began to form on the top of his head, he looked up to see a paper lantern dangling on the side; his eyes lit up instantly. "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, THAT LOOKS SO COOL!" Poking it for a few moments, he watched it swing side to side.

After a few minutes of non-stop poking, Ryuji finally got bored and decided to enter the bar. Ducking his head underneath the banner, he sat down on the same stool from last time to see the owner near him. "Yeah, so.. I kinda got some more information." He said, his stomach rumbling to the point where he started to feel sick. Oh god, I better buy some food quickly. Placing his hand into his pocket to grab out some loose change, he threw it on the table as he continued to talk. "Well, that lady said it was something to do with a love story, or a sad story. She also said that it was more along the lines of feminine literature.." He smiled to him while waiting for an answer. "... And I'll have a pork ramen too."

*Bai Chouyaku [Doubled Leap]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
By channeling chakra into her feet and releasing it in a short burst in the middle of a jump, Ryuji is able to, "jump again", increasing the range and height of their leaps. They can also use this to change direction in mid-air.

The man quickly served up the pork ramen the moment the boy ordered it, while clearly contemplating the book he had brought up. "I have quite a few books like that....", he started. "People leave books here all the time. when was the lady here? What does she look like? It might help me figure out if you aren't just trying ot use me like a library...", the man said accusingly.
