Where Beyond the Wind Breaks?

Post by Jin » Fri Nov 19, 2010 4:26 pm

The sound and rustles of birds inside the clan yard woke Jin. He felt pleased by the passing minute for what could be instored today. The light was luminous, as he could see the reflection of light licking the ground. Most of the room slept in a chamber of darkness, but when he looked from the floor where his head was facing as it hung from the bed, to the window and its long curtains, he felt, in a way, purified. Already the pure type of character, feeling purified meant only to bring good deeds to the people in his perspective.

After getting dressed, he went on from the clan grounds and into the district. There he found a nice shop, ready to serve the morning service. The air within the shop felt nice, almost like his room, but with the sound of morning people. After an ordering of ramen with beef tasting, he snapped his two chopsticks and began digging in.

The soup tasted delicious, and the ramen made things all the more better. The vibe he received throughout h the majority of the morning had been positive. So much in fact that he wanted to go the the hospital, and visit the sickly and do his duty with all his dignity and pride put so far aside, it wouldn't exist. Emotion today had been warm. When he saw people around, he would tell them "Ohayoo (good morning)"

Right when he entered the housings and businesses neighboring the Shinobi Academy, he looked from behind the cage and watched children either study, play, or train. The whole atmosphere brough memories the light. So much in fact that he sat down on a bench, and began reminiscing silently.

There was a poof of colored smoke from inside the cage, followed by coughing and strangled shouts. Some pre-genin looked up from their previous activities, confusion clear on their young faces, soon replaced by grins the size of the sun. Teachers, most of them the calm sort who rarely got angry with their little charges, barreled out of the smoke, coughing violently and looking around as though searching for something.. or someONE. Pre-genin giggled and laughed, pointing at their teachers. Only when the poor chuunin glanced around at each other did they realize that the colored smoke had had another function than just masking their attacker's presence and escape: their skin was dyed some pretty interesting colors. There was fuchsia, lime, turquoise... even a safety yellow chuunin was among them.

"HOKKAIDO SINOKO!" one of the chuunin yelled, looking mighty angry... and pretty funny, what with the way his blue eyes clashed with his lime-colored skin. "YOUR FATHER WILL HEAR ABOUT THIS, YOUNG LADY!"

Amidst the chaos of pre-genin making fun of their elders was a certain genin who had graduated a bit ago, moving as fast as she could toward the fence that separated her victims from the outside world. One teacher saw her and raced after her. He would have been able to catch her if not for the acorn that suddenly found itself hitting him smack in the forehead. The diversion of that single acorn allowed the redheaded genin to climb the fence and vault over it. Once safely out of reach of the furious, colorfully-skinned chuunin academy teachers, the genin let out a shrill whistle and dragged herself over to the bench on which Jin sat, not really paying attention to him just yet, being too pleased with her prank. A rather large squirrel appeared from one of the nearby trees and sat on the ground at her feet, glancing up at the Hyuuga suspiciously before turning its eyes to the acorn in its paws.

Where Beyond the Wind Breaks?

By the time the oncoming breeze licked the face of Hyuuga Jin, he noticed a little girl. Her actions were as live as any other adventurous youth. It reminded Jin of the of old days. He wasn't really that much of an active kid, but remember seeing them running around before. Playing with each other, and sometimes with Jin. The best friends Jin ever had in those days happened to be all energetic.

It was funny watching and listening the enraged Chuunin teacher. He knew best for the children, and started to worry. The look in his eyes hadn't changed, but his feeling for her safety if she were to walk too far did. When she sat down nearby, Jin could only look at her before then setting his on a squirrel on the grassy ground. He almost smiled at its adoring features, but didn't. He had to feel content, not filled with joy. He liked this controlled mood. It made him feel a little lazy, but superiorly pleased.

Using only one muscle of his entire arm, he rested it on his side, and used his fingers to fumble in for some herbals. Then closed them tightly in his hands. He used enough energy to create medicine, with the fumes to attract innocent things like squirrels. A technique he had done many times to grab great attention to the kids in the hospital. Attention he knew for sure was one thing children liked as much as seeing magic.

He waited for the squirrel to crawl up his hand, and begin to move around up his shoulders, and back to the palms. Where it stood in content. Just as he sat in content. The two fell in unison.

With them both magic and attention grabbing in display, he hoped to see if attracting the squirrel's attention and allowing it to express its energy would appear amazing to the eyes of this kid in someway.

Sin glanced up sharply as Chibi moved, thinking he was going to use that acorn to hit the Hyuuga. It had happened before, after all... but no. Chibi was oddly... content. He wasn't threatening the man with his nut, he wasn't even glaring at the guy! Sin let confusion cloud her normally open face, and watched her pet warily. Normally when he was being a nice, innocent little squirrel, he was getting ready to attack. Or so her father claimed. Sin had personally never witnessed the giant squirrel's infamous sneak attacks.

"Chibi... Don't even think about it," she said warningly.

The squirrel glanced over at her, his large, wide eyes giving her the patented 'Hokkaido Pout'. Aha, so the innocent act had been just that... an act. Sin shot him the evil eye until he looked away, dropping the acorn and climbing from the Hyuuga's hand to his normal place on her shoulder, where he balanced well despite his size and her lack of it.

"Sorry, mister. Chibi's a big prankster... I figured I'd save you before he dropped a sneak attack, or something."

Jin never had a pet before. He tried remembering if anyone in his immediate family had one, but couldn't think of one. The families were all into family ties and maintenance. They much rather take the perspective as accompanying each other before another, and then search others outside less frequently for companionship.

He looked out to the distance and saw the teacher in frustration. He was ready to come on over and talk to, what it seemed, the both of them. Jin didn't have anything to worry. He had done nothing wrong.

He noticed how the squirrel was going for some kind of mechanism to reach Jin and do something it had in mind. Jin almost fell in adoration, but should have known better. When he learned from the child about how much of a prankster her Chibi could be, he laughed warmly a little.

"So that's how you're going to do me, friend?"

Then he looked at the owner of the squirrel. He didn't think it had anyone to own, and tried to cheer up the kid a bit. Well, she ended up making him smile for the fact that she could control the animal 'way' better than he could. For it was her actual 'pet' and not some stray. Jin felt amazed.

"So what's your name, kid?"

Sin grinned, glancing first at the approaching teacher and then at the man next to her. Ahh, so the chuunin sensei had finally realized where exactly she'd escaped to and decided to come lecture her before she disappeared again. It was probably the same lecture as last time. "If you're going to prank the whole academic staff, Sinoko, I suggest you stop visiting the pre-genin before I report you for destruction of property!' She sighed contentedly, reaching up and stroking Chibi's tail, as she was known to do when feeling particularly devious.

"I'm Hokkaido Sin! This here's Chibi. He was a reluctant present from my old man," the genin finally said, realizing that she'd been asked a question. "Apparently he attacked Pops and caused a massive explosion out by our cabin. I think he's exaggerating, though."

She neglected to mention that she had personally seen the effects of that aforementioned explosion. But that was Tousha's fault, not Chibi's. Not that she had to explain that to this Hyuuga stranger. She'd had to deal with a lot of Hyuuga since graduating... perhaps the clan was stalking her, like she thought!

Where Beyond the Wind Breaks?

Hyuuga Jin found her attitude interesting. It seemed as if she didn't have a care in the world for her actions. The mind of a free-spirit. The passion that cannot overturn her morals without a great effort and uphill struggle. Though this was to be a shinobi's world. And in his years within it, Jin has seen many he never would have suspect change their ways.

Seeing her shine reminded him of the children at the hospital. When she and they shine, there's promise and faith somewhere and somewhere, either for them or by them, now or sometime in the future. The deep thoughts were beginning to become apparent as he started making his smile fade as his eyes were staring at the Academic teacher Chuunin.

Jin thought about becoming a teacher, though figured saving lives happened to be more important, and closer to his forte.

"Nice to meet you, Sin." Always he spoke in the polite form of their language. "My name is Hyuuga Jin. And thank you for saving my life." He wanted to laugh a little for that, but much rather praise and possibly lead more things into the conversation with someone and have it run silent, with the wind talking up more than they.

When the Academic teacher fixed his glasses as though in triumph, he turned around and walked to the school. He had to reassure that there weren't any children missing, misbehaving, or misunderstanding something. He couldn't chase her all day.

Sin grinned as the academy sensei decided against coming after her again and turned back. Not that it mattered if he'd caught her or not. Every teacher's goal was to make her stop her pranks, but even after getting dragged home to her uncle, Sin didn't stop her antics. And now that she didn't live with Ita-ojisan anymore, they couldn't really do that again. They could, however, tell her current guardian... not that the old man would honestly care. He'd probably be tickled pink at this prank.

"Nice to meet you, too, Hyuuga-san!" she said without thinking, which probably explained the uncommon politeness at which she addressed him. Perhaps Ita had made progress after all in taming the kid? "Do you... normally hang out on random benches around the village?" It seemed like something her pops would do, lounging around the village instead of working.

At times like these, Jin could not think of anything more to say. Usually, he has little to nothing to reminisce about. If the kid would like to hear about a heart transplant he did last week, who died in the recent month, and what were the lives he changed as a kind hearted character, then he could have an hour to say things. And he doubt she would want to hear things like that, as much energy she carried.

Feeling totally honored having "-san" added to his name, Jin could only reply to her with a "ma'am for a bit. It's how he is. Already a formal speaker, her good behavior could make him even more 'nice'. "Nice to meet you too, Ma'am." His eyes closed so that his cheeks' muscles could raise up another smile. "Oh. I really be in our hospital, helping people usually. Today I'm just on break from it all. First time I have had been this peaceful in a long while."
