It was going to be a pretty important day for the young Hyuuga. Katashi had arranged for both Shikari and Kawa to meet up with him in front of a ramen shop. It was a sunny and cool day, a good breeze in the air that made it feel just right. There were plenty of people out and about, enjoying the weather. Katashi had picked a good day for the meeting.

Considering that he was going to team with them separately, he thought it best to see how all three would get along and team up together to make one single unit between the three. He got along pretty well with them one on one, but all three have yet to meet up, so it was certainly going to be interesting. Of course, he was the first one there and was hoping that Shikari would arrive before Kawa so he could talk with her a bit.

The shining sun and cool breeze was making for a beautiful day as Shikari walked down one of the many streets. The weather was rather comfortable for Shikari and the sun light reflected off of her while crystal pendant, a gift from her mother long ago, which she almost always wore. She was on her way to meet Katashi at the local ramen shop and apparently she was also going to meet somebody new. Somebody that Katashi knew. Once again, she was wearing a hot pink shirt, rather than her normal light blue one. She was actually starting to like this color rather than her normal one.

Closing in on the ramen shop itself, Shikari could see Katashi off in the distance in front of it. "Katashi!" she called out as she picked up her pace to reach him. This is going to be a good day, she thought, I can feel it.

"Shikari!" Katashi called out to her upon hearing her call his name. He had a rather dumbfounded look on his face though upon seeing her, his usual dazed out look when he saw her. He was in shock and awe at her as he shook his head and smiled.

"You're looking great as always," He started off with before he got to business, "Hate to make this sudden and quick, but I wanted to give you a little heads up. We're meeting someone else today, a friend of mine, Kawa. He's a genin like us and would like to participate in missions and such with us so I figured we would all meet and see how it worked out. He should be arriving soon, we'll figure out what to do or where to go once he is here."

Giving her the basic rundown of why they were there, he decided to simply go with it until Kawa arrived.

"So, how are you on this fine day?"

Aww, he's so nice, Shikari thought while smiling at the compliment. The idea of having another person join them interested her. Obviously Katashi had met the kid before and if he wanted them all to meet the kid couldn't be all that bad. She hoped. "Well, as long as he isn't like one of those genin that we talked about before, you know the ones that only seek power for the power, he should be fine with me." she said, recalling the conversation that they had before.

"I'm pretty good today." she said continuing with the conversation. "It's a really nice day out."Shikari just stood there and let the wind blow through her hair and the sun shine down on her. "So when does he get here?" she asked.

And when Shikari asked that question Kawa walked down the road and stopped at the Ramen shop when he saw Katashi. Kawa's eyepatch and normal clothing was on but along with that were bandages all along his upper arms and even some of his lower neck.

"Hey, Katashi. Hello Miss. I guess she's the other?" Kawa greeted and guessed. She was definitely kind of pretty but he could see the nervousness in Katashi's stance and grinned a bit mentally. Someone likes another someone, definitely blackmail if he ever needed it.

"Yeah," Katashi remembered the conversation as well and as he thought about it, he hadn't quite discovered yet if Kawa fell into that category.

"Hm, I'm not quite sure what his intentions are but, he isn't all that bad," He said as he remembered the spar and training session they had. "You'll meet him soon enough so just give it a chance. After all, this is a meet up to see how well we all get along. If things go good, we'll be teaming. If not, then I'll figure it out..."

The wind blowing through Shikari's hair and the sun shining on her face, in Katashi's mind she looked like an angel and he had a rather dumb look on his face as he stared blankly.

"Uh huh," He said as he nodded, trying to get his mind back on focus, "He should be arriving soon..." To Katashi's save, Kawa had indeed arrived.

"Hey!" He replied back as he met up with them, "I'll do the introductions. Shikari, this is Kawa," he said as he motioned with his hand towards Kawa. "Kawa, this is Shikari," He motioned towards Shikari this time. "Now that we have all gathered here at last, we should get to talking. If no one has any ideas on where to go, we can always head inside," he was referring to the ramen shop they stood in front of.

Shikari was a bit surprised by just how soon Kawa had appeared after she had asked when he would be showing up. Was it coincidence? Probably but it was still a little weird/funny. Katashi seemed to be just as surprised as she was. Moments before Kawa's arrival, Shikari caught him gazing at her with an odd look. Maybe she was imagining it but the way he reacted to Kawa's arrival suggested otherwise.

Her attention now turned to Kawa. Just looking at him, he seemed to have been in some sort of fight recently. To her, his wardrobe was just a bit odd. And what was with the eye patch? Shikari wondered. She wanted to ask but didn't, not wanting to insult him if he truly had something wrong.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Kawa." she said giving him a little wave.

"I think one of the discussions that we should have either now or later is one about our abilities." she said, turning her attention to Katashi. "I mean, I don't know if either of you have trained together but neither one of you really know about my skills and vice versa" She continued. She didn't expect Kawa to know anything and all Katashi knew was that she could create a bird out of her shadows. She assumed that Katashi could use the Gentle Fist of the Hyuuga but she had never actually saw him use it.

Kawa waved back at Shikari and then removed the eye patch from his eye and placed it on his head. He rubbed his eye to adjust it quicker to the light and loosened up the bandages around his neck. "Gah, Katashi. Never asking to you to help me train again. My ribs are still hurting."

"Well Shikari. I'm mostly Raiton ninjutsu and have some to back up my taijutsu but those take an amazing amount of chakra for a genin. Katashi recently helped me train a bit and he's the reason I'm all wrapped up." Kawa moved to the opening of the shop and held it open for his two team mates. "I'll show you two something later if you wish since it isn't area of effect."

"You asked for the help and it was stamina training..." Katashi uttered with a blank look, "It's not that bad," He reassured Shikari, though it looked horrible the way Kawa was bandaged. Shikari gave off an excellent idea as for something they should discuss and Kawa picked it right up along with opening the door to the locale.

"Yes, I'd like to see," Katashi said in reference to Kawa's demonstration as he motioned with his hand for Shikari to enter first. "I don't know specifically about your abilities Shikari, just that you can manipulate shadows. It's obvious to you both that I'm a Hyuuga and yes I can use Gentle Fist style, but I'm not limited to just that. I use Strong Fist as well and a few other jutsu here and there, raiton affinity just like Kawa. Let's sit down and chat more now that we are on the topic. Maybe we can set something up during Kawa's demonstration."

So they have trained together, Shikari thought as she listened to the two of them bicker back and forth at each other. Honestly she really didn't care if Kawa was damaged or not. In fact, as mean as it may seem, it would have been cool with her if he had been hurt bad and was still able to fight through the pain. Now it seemed as though the boy was boasting about his abilities by offering to 'show them something later'. Maybe he didn't mean it that way, but that is how she took it. Katashi simply confirmed what she already figured and provided a little more information.

"A raiton user you say," she said to Kawa as she entered the ramen shop with them, "I suppose that means that you are pretty good at ninjutsu then. I'm pretty good at ninjutsu too. My techniques mostly revolve around manipulating shadows, especially into the forms of animals. I guess i have a few genjutsu too." Shikari said as she took one of the vacant seats in the shop.

"Sort of. I'm only alright but I'm getting better. A Nara, huh? Cool, always wondered what it's like to be able to use shadows. Heh, I have little to no genjutsu experience and I don't know about Katashi but that reassures me a bit me." Kawa grinned at the girl and took a another seat, leaving the last one remaining for Katashi right between Kawa and Shikari.

"Oh, Katashi. You're paying. I survived and we haven't gone to lunch since then."

With the only seat left between the two, Katashi sat down at the table as the waiter passed by and set down three menu for them to make their order from. As they looked over their menu, the conversation continued.

"I'm no good with genjutsu either, I'm pretty good with weapons though. Hm," Katashi stopped for a moment as he thought about something else. "I want to talk about something else, actually two more things," He threw a glance at Shikari, his inquisition was going to hopefully help set her mind at ease, and clear things up between them all.

"The first thing I wanted to know is just how much experience each of you has. I'll start, I've been on over half a dozen missions, seven to be exact. I've worked with several other genin and tried working in teams before but for one reason or another, the teams just didn't last. So, now it's your turn. When your done, I'll ask the last thing I have in mind."

Shikari just merely glanced over her menu. She wasn't exactly hungry at the moment and the fact that Katashi seemed to be forced to pay made her feel a little bad. "I actually haven't been on that many mission." Shikari stated to the group, "I've only been on a few and they were mostly just random little odd jobs. I don't think there was really any combat involved in any of them." Thinking back over her missions, she was slightly disappointed in the fact that they hadn't been much more exciting than chasing after a few dogs and finding a few lost items.

Kawa looked over his menu and decided he only wanted something small. "Heh, I've been on a few. Like Shikari, most of them were just running errands and do random chores for the people of the village. One of them however was combat heavy. It wasn't a pretty mission at all." Kawa thought back to the mission and his brow furrowed. "Alright, does everyone who's eating have their order ready?"

"Mhm," Katashi listened as they both spoke up. It seemed like both of them had only been on a few missions and that he had been on more than them. However, his missions weren't all that more exciting, around the same type of work they had done, just more of it. On a technical stand point, one could say that he was more experienced than them, but that remained to be seen.

"Ok, so we all have a few missions at the least. That's good, we all know what we are doing," He set his menu down, giving a nod. He had made his pick and was ready to order, but not before asking his second question.

"I know what I'm ordering, but I want to ask my next question before we dig in. What is everyone's goal? Like, what is it you hope to achieve or do? Me for example, I want to protect this village, my home. For that, I intend to climb the ranks and join the Guardians, so I can defend this place." He couldn't help but grin. It was also his mentor's dream, but he couldn't fulfill it. The Hyuuga felt like he was doing it for the both of them and felt that much more motivated to do it. Now he waited to hear their responses and while he more or less could guess that Shikari had a similar goal, he didn't know about Kawa. He didn't know him all that much just yet and they had spent more time training than talking, so this meeting was rather important for all three of them to get to know each other better.

These are odd questions.... Shikari thought. "Well, you probably already know mine." Shikari said in reply, "We talked about this the other day. I want to get stronger but not for myself. I'm not one of those genin who only want to get stronger for themselves. I, like you, want to make sure that this village stays safe, not only for this generation but also for generations to come. I mean, we are genin; we are the backbone of this village."

Towards the end of her little monologue, the waiter approached their table. Still not feeling very hungry, Shikari simply ordered a glass of water.

Kawa quickly ordered his small meal and turned to the rest of the table. "My dream is similar to both of yours but I have additional side subjects. I love this village but we have to remember, it's not just the building that form a village but the people. Eventually I'd love to join the Guardians but before that I'd rather get my own personal problems out of the way first. In summary, yeah I wanna get stronger for the village and all it's people to protect them but also get my own stuff done in the process." Kawa spoke to the group.

"Yeah, we did," Katashi agreed with her when she mentioned that the two had spoken about dreams and aspirations earlier. "We didn't have Kawa at the time, so I wanted to hear what he had to say and in turn let him hear what we said," He gave as his reason for having asked.

"It seems like we all have pretty much the same thing in mind and the same objective," The Hyuuga spoke up after Kawa finished speaking, "I'm pretty much done for the time being. Either one of you can take it away now if you'd like." Having said that, the waiter took his order, which was the final one of the table. With that, the man left and the next time he showed would be with their orders.

"So if we all want to defend this place, then it is good that we work together." Shikari said. It wasn't long before their orders had arrived. In front of Kawa and Katashi, the waiter placed their meals where as Shikari simply got the water that she asked for.

"Well, I can't really think of any thing else that we can really talk about," she said, putting more emphasis on the word 'talk', "Instead, i think the only way that we can really test our abilities together, is if we fight together." Shikari reached out for her water, taking a sip at the end of her sentence. "I mean, neither of you have seen what I can do. And I have never seen what either one of you can do. A quick little spar simply makes sense." She said, placing her glass back on the table.

Kawa slowly ate his small order as Shikari talked. She was right. He had only seen Katashi's taijutsu which had been on par with his own and his strength completely dwarfed his too. He was a primarily taijutsu user so he did need to increase his strength and soon, but being as he used ninjutsu too and used it to improve his style he was somewhat confused on what to do.

Kawa nodded as Shikari finished talking and he finished his meal. "A spar probably isn't best if we want to work together well. Somebody should create a clone or two and have it fight against us while he work to dispel it. It's better than hurting each other and it works on teamwork as well."

"Good idea," Katashi nodded as he proceeded to make quick work of his ordered meal. It didn't take long before he was done and the group headed out. Looking for a good spot, they can to a nearby training ground. It was a plain and open grassy field, but what they wanted it was just right.

"Alrighty... I don't know the clone technique, so we might need to figure something else out..." The Hyuuga thought for a moment as his eyes jumped between Shikari and Kawa. "Hm, I've seen a little of what Kawa can do and I've only heard about the Nara clan and their ability to manipulate shadows, never experienced it in person. Um... use your technique on me," He told her as he nodded, "Just hold it back, it's only for showcasing purposes. I heard your ability allows you to stop people in place, I wanted to see and feel that firsthand and if you got anything, just take it easy."

Moving to the battlefield, Shikari was hoping to get a little sparring in with them. She was sure however that it would be more of a way to get used to each others techniques.

As Katashi began to speak, Shikari was a little taken back. Sure, she was prepared to spar with Katashi, but he just wanted to test out her abilities. She quickly scrolled through all of her techniques, thinking about which one she wanted to attack him with. Sure she was sure that she knew which one he wanted her to attack with, but that one wasn't very fun. Instead, she decided to showcase her more artistic creations. Before beginning, she created a little distance between the two of them, approximately 5 meters.

"If that is what you really want," she said while quickly performing handseals. Her shadow quickly took the shape of a Lynx, approximately 2 feet tall and 3 feet long. "Hope you're ready for it." Shikari made another seal, causing the lynx to quickly dash towards Katashi. When the lynx was within a single meter of him, Shikari made another handseal once again. Almost instantly, the lynx changed into half a dozen shadow threads, all of which began to wrap around and essentially bind Katashi.

"So what do you think?" Shikari asked with a smile.

Shadow Creation: Lynx
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the needed hand seals, Kari will flood her shadow with chakra causing it to 'spring' to life, jumping into a pseudo three dimensional form in the size and shape of a Lynx, approximately 2 feet tall and 3 feet long. It has small 3/4 inch claws that it can attack with that could cause small damage. This creation can only extend up to the shadow's total surface area which is typically about 10 meters. However it is able to attach itself to other shadows in order to extend the length that it can go. This form gets destroyed by any medium strength attack, multiple weak attacks or from a person with a strength of 4 or higher. Otherwise it can last until Kari runs out of chakra or dispels the jutsu. When it gets destroyed or dispelled, it will return to being a simple shadow and retreat back to Kari. Taijutsu: 4
Stamina: 2
Strength: 2
Speed: 4

Shadow Creation: Bind
C-rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: Kage Nui, A shadow creation is in use
This jutsu is used in conjunction with one of her shadow creations. After creating a shadow creation, Kari will have it attack a specific target. As the creation approaches the target, she will perform two additional handseals. These handseals will cause the creation to suddenly burst into multiple shadow threads that attempt to wrap around the target, similar to the way that Kage Nui does. Each thread extends approximately 15 feet from their position. If they successfully bind an opponent, they must have a strength of 4 or higher to break free.

Katashi stood still as he watched Shikari perform her jutsu. The shadow lynx was pretty fast, he would figure about as fast as he was, but it never got to strike him. It dispeled into threads once it was within range. Those threads in turn were then used to quickly ensnare him and bind him. He tried wiggling around a bit in them, to gauge it's strength. With effort, he was confident he could break it, but it was still pretty strong regardless.

"This is good," He replied back to her with a nod, "This could be used to bind a foe and then either me or Kawa can finish it. I've gotten a feel for the jutsu now, so you can let me go. Also, if either one of you want a demonstration of my ability, I can show you. I can close off a tenketsu point or two so you can also get a feel for it. Otherwise, I'd like to keep talking strategy or if anyone else has any ideas then bring them forth."

"Well just be happy I decided to make it bind you." Shikari said with a smile, "I could have made those little things go right through you." She made another handseal, causing the shadow tendrils to retract and make their way back to her. "I figure that on any team, I will be the one who distracts the opponents while everyone else beats on them. That's what my techniques are best used for."

"And I don't think I really need to have my charka points shut off." Shikari said to Katashi as she rejoined the group, "I think I can guess what it would be like. Besides, I shouldn't have to deal with the possibility as long as we don't fight each other right?" she said, flashing him a little smile.

"That's awesome, Shikari." Kawa grinned as he watched the two interact and the shadow bind Katashi. Unlike Katashi, he probably wouldn't be able to break it because he knew he had under average strength. When Katashi offered to close a tenketsu he decided to speak up.

"I'll let you close one of mine in a second but first I want to show you two something." Kawa performed several hand seals and his hands were enveloped in a blue glow. "Does the glow remind you of a certain jutsu? Well, even if you're thinking the right one it isn't it, this is Sukin. The chakra? It's actually formed into hundreds of tiny hooks that have gruesome yet effective effects. It'll get better as I get more control over my chakra but right now I can only remove skin from people it touches. It's why I like to use taijutsu but don't really focus on my strength a lot. Why work on it when I can make them bleed even if I only tap a person?" Kawa recalled the jutsu and blinked. It WAS a high ranking jutsu and it did take a decent amount of chakra from him. "If you want, now you can close a tenketsu or two."

"Yeah, it just seems like such a good idea to have you distract while we pound them," Katashi said as the idea fit in so well in his mind, "Honestly, the plan seems to be rather flawless and your part is just as important as ours because without you immobilizing the foe, we would have a much harder time." He flashed a smile back at her as she commented about them not having to face each other.

"Your right and I imagine we won't, but I just wanted to get a feel for everyone's jutsu. We might not face each other, but there are others from our clans that we never know if we'll run into or not." With that said, he observed Kawa and the technique. He could recognize the chakra, but wasn't sure what it was for until Kawa explained.

"I'm not going to close a tenketsu," He told his partner, "You used quite a bit of chakra on that jutsu already. That's a pretty powerful technique, don't want to use it too many times. So, are we done with the demonstrations? I got some raiton ninjutsu as well, but aside from one jutsu, which needs more work, nothing extraordinary. Anyone got anything to say?"

"Impressive." Shikari said referring to Kawa's jutsu. "You get close enough to someone with that and you can really mess them up."

Shikari thought for a few moments but she couldn't think of anything else to say. They had gotten to know each other, they had displayed a little bit of what each one of them could do, there really wasn't much left. "I don't think we really have anything left to discuss." she announced to the group. "That is, unless either one of you can really think of something."

Kawa nodded at the two and pondered for a bit. "Nope, nothing left to discuss I guess. If you guys still wanna do the clone thing, I can create a few Raiton clones but if not then fine." Kawa announced as he looked at both of his team mates.

"We should apply for the Exams soon. Maybe I can ask a friend of mine to help us practice strategies and work out the flaws in them. It's up to you two."

"Mhm," Katashi agreed with Shikari about Kawa being able to do some damage with his jutsu. It appeared that they had all pretty much spoken their piece and showed what their individual, unique abilities. He had run out of ideas and so had the two of them, plus they had spent pretty much the entire day out. It was time to turn in.

"Well, I guess that's it for today. I like Kawa's idea about the Exams. We could do some kind of training, but I feel ready to go as is. It was good getting together with you guys, we need to head out another time, but now I need to head back home. I look forward to seeing you both out on the field, maybe even those Exams. Take care, both of you!" He did a slight bow to the two. He waved at them as he begun to walk away. It had been a productive day to him and he was happy to discover some more about his partners. He couldn't help but smile as he thought.

The three of us have a common theme, we all want to protect this place. I'm glad we met today, because we'll be the ones whom will shape tomorrow.
