- Face/head: Hanzou's features are very clasically Fukusha, with dark eyes and coal-black hair. He wears his hair slightly long on top and a little shorter on the sides, but all slicked back out of his face. His sharply angled jawline, strong chin, and wide mouth (usually twisted into a mocking grin) aren't what you would call clasically handsome, but come together to make a unconventionally good-looking young man.
- Body: Hanzou is a tall and skinny youth. He rarely stands up straight, which makes him look shorter than he is. While his limbs are quite thin, they do display some wiry muscle.
- Notable Features: A large tattoo of a salamander snaking its way around his right forearm
Personality:
- General: In short, Hanzou is a clever, charming jerk. Like most Fukusha, he is quite intelligent, but somewhat unusually for his clan he is a relatively gregarious, outgoing person. That said, he's not clasically friendly: he is frequently prickly, ascerbic, and sarcastic, and loves nothing more than making a joke at someone else's expense. While he is very intelligent, he thinks he's about five times smarter than he is and is also quite lazy, not wanting to apply himself to things he thinks are below him. Hanzou says what is on his mind, and will loudly announce his complaints and how little he cares about things around him. Despite his abrasive, nihlistic attitude, he's not as far gone as his surface would suggest. Hanzou is the kind of person to mock his friends mercilessly but always show up for them, or to complain about his younger relatives but make sure he sets a good example for them. Hanzou pays a lot of attention to how he looks.
- Hopes/Dreams: Hanzou is extremely driven to climb the ranks as a shinobi and prove the mettle and loyalty of his clan. He thinks he would make a good Tsuchikage, but isn't about to go around blabbing about that.

D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After performing the hand seals and pricking the opponent with some sort of small weapon (usually senbon), the opponent feels their arms and legs fall asleep. It feels as if the blood flow to these appendages has basically stopped, making their movements a tad sluggish and just all around uncomfortable. This jutsu doesn’t really hinder a person, but it makes everything they do feel off. For those who are attuned to the way their body feels during battle, it can be extremely distracting. Lasts 3 posts.

The user will do a series of hand seals, then whistle. Anyone who hears the whistle will be captured in this genjutsu. For the following 4 posts, the target will see a shadow in the corner of their eyes, constantly shifting out of view when they attempt to look at it.

After performing the necessary hand seals, any victim that sees the user preforming the hand seals will be induced under the genjutsu. This causes the target to begin to smell rotting flesh and decaying bodies.The jutsu can cause nausea and vomiting from the target, depending on how sensitive their sense of smell is. The smell of the dead can also cause some mental stress on the target. This genjutsu lasts for three (3) posts.

C-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
This is a genjutsu technique that causes its target to see a horrifying vision. The ninja will perform some hand seals and make eye contact with the target. Once cast, the world will appear normal to the target until they see the illusion. The illusion is at the discretion of the user. However, they can only make a stationary image, or a visual loop, not a controllable visual illusion. Examples would be a decapitated head on a table, or one of their friends running in circles on fire. This illusions may only last up to 4 posts, or until the user ends the jutsu themselves. As a note, this only effects sight.

This is a genjutsu technique which can be used in quite a few ways. The user forms a hand seal, and as long as the opponent(s) see it, then the genjutsu will begin. The user and the opponent(s) will both light on fire and start to burn, from the feet up to the head, in the opponent's mind. The opponent will normally start to panic and try to get rid of the fire, especially since they feel as if they were in actual pain. This genjutsu lasts for 4 posts and will not appear to be able to be extinguished, no matter what the victim does. The illusion is very static, in the sense that it doesn't change with the environment, it merely creates an illusory flame and pain.

C-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
The user does a series of hand seals and then spreads their arms apart. Anyone who sees this motion will see fog spread from the users arms, and then over the course of the post spread out into a 30m circle from where the user was standing. The fog is thick, and appears to be visually impenetrable, with no form of advanced or chakra based eyesight seeing through it. While nothing prevents the target from walking through it (in which case they’ll be able to see on the other side) while in the middle of the circle of fog, the target will be unable to see outside of it, limiting their ability to strategy or prepare for things coming from outside the fog. The fog remains for 5 posts before fading.

B-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
If the genjutsu user ever needs to run, this is the ideal technique to use. The target simply has to see them take their first step to run after the user has performed the hand seals. If the target saw the first step to run, the genjutsu caster will suddenly split into 90 "clones." This will allow the genjutsu caster to run away amidst the confusion, as the mass of clones run in every single direction at a speed of 20. Of course, touching one of these "clones" will cause them to disperse in a cloud of smoke, but they will do everything in their power to avoid making contact. If the clones aren't touched, the jutsu lasts for up to 6 posts.

Hanzou was born into a Fukusha clan that was still nomadic, hunting and raiding through the wastes of Rock Country. This sppeared that it would be Hanzou's life as well until the clan was integrated into Iwa. With the mutual distrust between the Fukusha and the rest of Iwa, it took several years for Hanzou to be enrolled in the academy. He was a popular boy during his academy days, but was especially close with Akari Kohaku, who he befriended early on when they discovered they shared a birthday.
Hanzou was never a particularly strong boy, and as such he struggled with Taijutsu, but immediately took to both Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. In more academic subjects he was always either an A or an F student: excelling seemingly without effort or not bothering to show up. In an attempt to patch up the weaknesses in his style, Hanzou was convinced by one of his teachers to make a deal with a salamander spirit. As his blood sacrifice to seal the contract, Hanzou elected to have a large salamander tatooed on his right arm. Ankou, the particular salamander spirit convinced Hanzou to take up smoking. Upon graduating, Hanzou elected to join the shinobi forces, where he found himself on a team of genin with his longtime friend Akari Kohaku, and Enkouten Nikkou.
