- General: Ryoko is immature and naive, highly curious of the world and easily influenced by the actions of those around her. While generally friendly her immature, innocent naivety leads to her generally speaking bluntly and without much care or regard for whom she may be speaking to. With that said she is generally capable of realizing when she's done something wrong and will immediately apologize should it be required. As well, deep down she has some sense of mischievousness or perhaps even some small amount of cruelty, feeling some joy and amusement in zapping others with her Raiton whether accidentally or otherwise and seeing how they react.
- Hopes/Dreams: For now she simply wishes to continue making her mother proud of her
- Fears: Still being young and naive Ryoko effectively has no fears, though she is just a bit unnerved by large insects and snakes
- Combat Mentality:Ryoko relies primarily on a ranged offensive with Ninjutsu, holding targets back with the paralyzing effects of Raiton

Ryoko's birth, or creation rather, is nothing short of miraculous. Her mother Nakiya Hotaru had been alive for centuries in the form of an elemental body, bearing witness to the passage of time as a shinobi of Kiri. Over the years the woman had begun to grow lonely and perhaps out of desperation had torn off a chunk of her own body. It took some time but eventually her call appeared to be answered as the elemental mass began to grow sentient, first taking the form of an amorphous blob that soon thereafter formed itself into the shape of a child, a young girl that she named Ryoko.
Growing up for Ryoko was strange, the girl not needing to eat or sleep and even learning to walk and talk at a much faster rate than her peers, perhaps due to her inhuman nature. For a time Hotaru was baffled as how to raise her but she soon decided to treat her as she would a normal child. That did still leave her with one worry however... If her daughter would be able to get along with the other kids around the village.
Luckily for the most part this concern proved to be needless as she was highly sociable and made friends with relative ease. There was some attempted bullying as it was clear even to the other kids that she wasn't like them but for the most part she shrugged it off.
This resilience would prove useful in the academy as she struggled at first to adapt, the girl seemingly not being suited for the life of a shinobi. She was driven however by an urge to make her mother proud of her. Over time she slowly learned what was expected of her and slowly became able to perform accordingly. Adding to her newfound drive was a newfound rival, a young girl that she frequently tussled with, the two inexplicably igniting each other's competitive fires.
Soon enough it came time for the graduation exam and despite any doubts some may have held she passed with flying colors, becoming a Genin.
