- Face/head: Short swept-back hair, without the proper lighting it appears to be black however upon closer inspection it is revealed to be a dark brown. His eyes follow suit assuming the same dark brown color. Upon being blessed with good genes this has allowed for an aesthetically pleasing facial structure; starting from the top-down one would describe him as gorgeous.
- Body: Being your typical shinobi Kanzos' body has been honed into something of a weapon; a childhood and early adolescence filled with training exercises among other laborious tasks has left him with a fit build. Gifted with broad shoulders he boasts a wide frame however his build is slender.
- Notable Features: He hosts a pale skin tone as per usual of most who call the misty islands their home. His eyes beam with a burning ambition; always aiming for his next goal. This in turn comes off as a determined look plastered across his face. As a result of an over-inflated ego, Kanzo takes a great deal of pride in his appearance resulting in a well groomed look.
Personality:
- General: Kanzo is a corrupt businessman, characterized by extreme cruelty and greed. If he had even the slightest chance of getting profit, nothing would stop him. He constantly prioritizes financial success over any other motives and emotions. He is willing to break prior contracts and agreements in order to save money.
Stemming from his relations to the Karagata family, Kanzo became very ruthless and dealt harshly with his enemies, brutally executing anyone who crossed his path. To this end, he had no qualms over killing and harming innocent people, taking hostages and blackmailing where he pleased. It was this trait of ruthlessness that allowed him to very quickly climb the ladder of success within his particular business.
From a psychological standpoint it would be easy to sum Kanzo up as a wielder of the dark triad. He displays this consistently through his actions which most would identify as narcissistic, Machiavellian, and psychopathic. Not ever wasting the opportunity to one-up his fellow man or prove his own self-worth Kanzo willfully manipulates situations to his own liking. That is not to say that he is completely without empathy as one would assume of his psychopathic status; he can finely tune this through feigning proper responses according to the social norm and the like.
Kanzo is careful and calculating; everything he does is thought out well in advance and usually ties into some scheme. Keeping up with appearances he maintains an upstanding public image through various philanthropic activities. However, this is all a facade, a show that he puts on for the world so as to protect his other unscrupulous proclivities from prying eyes. In his day-to-day activities he appears affable to most but to those that really knew him nothing could be further from the truth. Indulging in his favorite of hobbies you would often find him plotting against his rivals and opponents. This Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde act is one that he has kept up for many years.
Kanzo is somewhat of a pathological liar, having developed this trait at a young age to defend against the deceit and half truths that run rampant throughout the ninja world. To say that Kanzo rarely tells the whole truth is an understatement and as such those select people he does tell may only receive a fraction of the bigger picture. Having been raised as a shinobi he has developed distrust for those around him, leading him to trust the one person he can always count on; himself.
His ambition is the driving force behind all of his actions, that and his burning desire for power. All of this stems from a moment in his past where failure was based upon a lack of strength. In essence that failure was the seed of his ambition. Everything he does now is to further himself in some way, whether through mastering new jutsu, attaining greater physical prowess, to even boosting his social standings, everything must be more powerful than his opponent. - Hopes/Dreams: To aspire after wealth and fame no matter the cost. He also believes in spreading his influence to the far reaches of the world.

After drawing a seal formula on a surface, appropriate in size to the weapon being sealed but no larger than 3x9 inches, the user forms the needed hand seals then may place as many of that singular object into the scroll as desired. When done, the user performs another set of hand seals and touches the seal closing it off as the seal condenses to the shape of the object stored. This seal is the only known sealing applications that allows depth storage and unfortunately this cannot be done at larger sizes. Tools can only be released at a maximum of 10 at a time, and are released with zero force.

This seal cannot be used multiple times, and if the incoming projectile has more than 5 strength, it will overpower it, making the technique useless.

It should be noted that this jutsu requires intense concentration, often making the user shut their eyes so they can focus on the jutsu solely. Even with high levels of Chakra Control and Instinct, this jutsu can be mentally taxing as it requires the user to sort through the individual chakra sources in the sensor’s range.

Usually in the form of a handshake or similar movements Kanzo will exchange items with the target while maintaining the outward appearance of the chosen interaction.

While interacting with the target Kanzo has trained himself to distract them using one hand while stealing from them with the other. This works on getting the target to focus on one of his hands usually by guiding their eyes away using a simple gesture like pointing when one is giving directions and the like. Using the temporary blind-spot made from the distraction Kanzo then can lift off the person whatever he likes for as long as the blind-spot remains open. They will only notice if their [Instinct] is higher than his ([Taijutsu]+[Speed]/2). However this doesn't work on those who are wary of their personal space.

The Art of Deception:[Calm, Cool, and Collected]A must have style for those charismatic and persuasive types, Kanzo has spent many years honing his mind to the absolute pinnacle of human ability, and is capable of recalling and processing information, even suppressing and reading emotions, far more efficiently than most. While this doesn't affect everyone, he is able to use his knowledge and wits to quickly and easily secure people that would otherwise be unconvinced of whatever he is saying.

Due to his status of being a shinobi, Kanzo has seen and experienced many different types of gore and distress. A consequence of this is that he's exceptionally hard to unnerve with such acts and actions; even those that he is unprepared for.

Utilizing a few basic rules, Kanzo is able to 'invade' someone's personal space without them feeling invaded. This involves methods such as lowering his voice whenever too close to someone, leaning back or backing up, standing at a different angle, or just simply not facing them directly. Because of his training he is able to accurately and mindlessly judge what is needed in order to change each of the factors of an 'invasion' to slip right in. Those that are naturally defensive of everything already in their personal space are less affected by this jutsu.

Rather than just thinking to lie, the art of deception comes very easily to Kanzo. To him lying is almost the exact same as telling the truth; a lie following a truth without missing a single beat. This allows him to not fail standard lie detectors, even while lying about the most obvious of things. Skilled lie detectors are able to figure out what is a lie or what is not if they have other methods.

Due to Kanzos' skill at lying to others he has worked his words into fabricating lies that are sort of believable. By fudging little pieces of a story, even one in the person's own history, Kanzo is able to help cause doubt in one's own memory or perception. While this can't be used too often due to the inherent nature of lying, this really depends upon the person themselves. If the persons' memory is strong enough then this is easily ignored. However, since Kanzo glosses over information it is hard to pick up.

With his skills in perception, Kanzo can quickly judge the particulars of an incoming attack. Efficient defense depends on observing and responding, and Kanzo is able to tell the speed at which an object is traveling, the distance between himself and the object, and how much damage it is likely to do with its current velocity. This can even be used on close range attacks such as sword swings or punches.

Kanzos' observational skills borders on the preternatural, taking in even the most subtle of details in those around him. He is so constantly aware of others that he can pick up on tension changes in the body allowing him to judge whether a punch is about to be thrown or even track the movements of a pen as someone writes in order to make an accurate guess as to the information.

A mnemonic device for recalling large quantities of information quickly, Kanzo has assembled a 'memory palace' that looks distinctly like a library. By sorting his memories into specific locations in the library, Kanzo can quickly and methodically recall information in his memories with a great degree of clarity in mere seconds even while under duress. It follows this table to dictate how long it takes to recall a memory:

Unlike the usual blank facade Kanzo presents which simply masks his current emotions, Kanzo has ascended to the point where his emotions can be suppressed entirely in favour of logical reasoning and deduction. Anger, joy, sorrow, love, none of this means anything to Kanzo. By pushing aside all emotion, he is even capable of lying with no reaction; no raise in pulse, no additional perspiration, no micro-expressions, not even his chakra fluctuates when he lies.

Prerequisite: 40 Instinct
Taking his situational awareness to the next level, Kanzo is constantly aware of his surroundings to such a point his eyes seem to automatically track any movements made within his range of vision. While he may be able to track the movements with an indefinite amount of precision, this does not allow Kanzo to simply automatically dodge or block, as his body still requires the physical capability to keep up with his mind's processing power.

Prerequisite: [Real-Time Tracking System], [Keen Observation], [Martial Analysis], [Gifted Perception], 40 Instinct
Only those with a gifted mind such as Kanzos' may enter this stance. Having trained his perceptive skills to the max Kanzo becomes the epitome of human calculation. Upon initiating this stance the user gains a near-supernatural reflexive ability exhibited by a +8 to [Speed] and +7 to [Taijutsu]. During this altered state of mind Kanzo is able to accurately predict incoming attacks and instinctively mirror or evade them for as long as his [Speed] and [Taijutsu] remain equal to or higher than his opponents'. This mirroring effectively allows him to block all close-quarters combat within reason (weapons can only be mirrored if he wields a similar weapon and has the required concentration). Any attacks made from range are easily spotted and evaded as long as Kanzo isn't immobilized. Tracking everything within his range, any targets that attempt to flee during this are easily followed however Kanzo may only actively pursue them as long as he is not under attack. His perceptive capabilities during this state are so advanced he can even follow the movements made by those using *[Ninjutsu • Body Flicker Technique] and similar techniques (as long as his [Instinct] is higher than their [Speed]). All of this is capable due to Kanzos extremely talented information-processing skills; every movement within his peripheral range is noted and accounted for. During this state attacking may only be done if the user has supplementary offense-based disciplines. Lasting only 10 posts this amount of thinking and perceiving takes a heavy toll on his mind resulting in a -18 to [Instinct] for the remainder of the thread.

That is until a certain Karagata Shipping Company conglomerate made them an offer they couldn't refuse. Initially they approached his aged and ailing father with a small figure of ryo to buy him out and to absorb their business entirely. Of course his father wouldn't stand for this as he knew what would be in store for his employees and his own shares within the company. He couldn't just back down even if they were the biggest rival competing for control over the seas.
Unfortunately for his father he underestimated or perhaps just didn't care about the one trait that made the Karagata family what they were today, ruthless. Kanzo had been returning from the marketplace with his mother only to find his father's severed head set atop a table, being used as a paperweight for a note that was seemingly written in his blood. Being only twelve years old at the time Kanzo froze as everything around him seemed to fall apart. Food spilled across the floor as his mother fell to her knees in hysterics. His father knew something like this may happen one day so he wrote a will and stashed it away in secret.
After the mother-son duo finished cleaning their house from the bloodbath state it was left in, they found a note behind a picture of them all together as a family. This note was the late Hirohitos' will. It said something to the tune of leaving behind his entire company and its fortune to Kanzo should he pass.
The Karagata family had been at this kind business for a much longer time than his father and as such anticipated such a move. Within the fortnight the grieving family had a nightly visitor who now approached Kanzo with an offer. Looking to his mother for advice she told him the only thing that she knew would keep their family safe. As the boy signed his inheritance and coincidentally his life away the mystery man at the door baring the symbol of the Kraken smiled and went on his way. In order to keep his own stake in the company the young Hirohito signed as part of the contract to work under the Karagata family name. So thus forth he was known as Hirohito, Kanzo, bled for family Karugata.

Never wasting an opportunity to bolster their strength by forging a weapon in their name, even if it was only a Karugata, the boy was thrust into the academy. Quick wit and an aptitude for learning allowed him the skill to ease past the written portion of the schooling. Now as a member of the Karagata he was trained by their family as they couldn't let him be a disappointment, not like how his father proved to be..
Now as a genin he was assigned a rival shinobi to be his rival. The two were a force to be reckoned with on missions where they worked in tandem, each had a style which complimented the others. Finding himself being of a analytical mindset Kanzo would be able to quickly put clues and other information together to quickly find their objective whilst his rival being your basic foot soldier just idly listened to commands and utilized brute strength to power his way through missions.
It was around this time that Kanzo had realized the potential held with the islands of the Water Country. All the various life-supporting geography that surrounded Kirigakure were full of exotic and rare insects and herbs. At first he spent most of his time in a library learning what he could from books before it was time to put the information to practical use. Making a habit to keep any eye out for anything interesting within his travels Kanzo became a collector of sorts. After awhile his collection began to grow and with that he used his extensive knowledge on the subject to begin manufacturing his own brand of poisons and intoxicants. He found it rather fascinating that by just mixing two or three different herbs the right way would leave behind a product that had a range of uses ranging from recreational to combative. Application of the right intoxicants could leave the user in a euphoric state of wonder while another combination may just leave the user as a temporary husk dulled in the senses.
After awhile Kanzo realized he would need a guinea pig if he were to continue his experiments and who better than a tough soldier who would rather have others think for him than actually hold an opinion for himself. Using his silver tongue he rather easily convinced his rival to take some stimulants he had during a mission. Explaining to him that it would help him fight harder and longer, which was the truth, he just conveniently left out all the possible side-effects and withdrawal symptoms. The mission was a cinch as after Kanzo had lead his partner to the whereabouts of the known small-time thugs he watched as the stimulant-infused shinobi tore through them with an unknowable fury.
Establishing a sense of trust within Kanzo his partner now turned to him whenever he needed some special 'medicine' or essentially to get his fix. This escalated to the point where he had effectively transformed his rival into his very own fiend. This of course was of no issue to Kanzo as he loved to have a willing subject in the matter.
Continuing for awhile the two eventually found themselves faced with the task of facing off in the chuunin exams. Anticipating this fight for a long while Kanzo had prepared a plan to take on his brutish rival without having to actually do a thing.
He approached his partner at his apartment alone. With the combined influences of both the Hirohito and Karagata families he kindly explained how the exam was going to go. It was simple: you throw the match or face dishonor. You see it would be too easy for Kanzo to cut-off the drug supply and let his rival suffer however he knew the officials, as barbaric as they were, loved a good fight and as such wouldn't let him move on to chuunin if the match was no contest. Instead he opted to force his rival to play along in the masquerade in order to earn his keep under threat of blackmail. If his family were to find out the double-life he had been leading as some sort of junkie the shame it would bring would destroy his reputation and also his position within the social hierarchies of the village. Knowing he had no other choice he nodded his head and agreed to throw the match.
As their battle ensued it went off exactly as planned. Kanzo played a defensive early game while his partner went on the assault which after a good amount of time seemed to gas him out. Using this time to make his own move Kanzo took to the offense and savagely injured his tired partner. When things just seemed to be going in his favor the now battered rival gained his second-wind, adrenaline coursing through his veins he took advantage of Kanzo's wild offense and struck hard 'n fast. This back and forth continued on till finally Kanzo stood victor as his opponent had collapsed from exhaustion.
Later on that week his rival turned up dead, found alone in his apartment with autopsy reports stating he died from asphyxiation caused by opiate overdose. The official story that went around stated he couldn't handle the shame of his loss and therefore turned to drugs to numb himself but only one person knew the actual truth...
Finally a chuunin Kanzo seemed to find an appropriate niche at which he excelled rapidly in. Espionage and subterfuge was his calling, being able to get himself into and out of situation by word of mouth alone made him a valuable asset in the field of information gathering. It was at this point the Karagata's put him to work as he doubled as a field agent in furthering their goals although Kanzos' particular interest was with work regarding the Karagata Shipping Company.
Working both as a shinobi of Kirigakure and an employee of the Karagata Shipping Company called for a busy schedule however Kanzo was more than ready for the workload. As their friendship grew Maido made it clear through conversation that she needed help experimenting on her jutsu. In jest Kanzo stated that he would only go for it if it made him stronger. She explained thoroughly what the experiment would entail and what the outcome would be. He would become nearly immortal. The temptation of this proved to be too much as he succumbed to the will of Maido.
Waking up in an abandoned makeshift surgery room Kanzo much to his own confusion hadn't a clue what happened. After agreeing to the experiment and being lead to a strange room he couldn't seem to remember much of the events that took place after. Searching his body for wounds or any abnormalities he found none, in fact he felt better. It was like his body ran at two hundred percent capacity. As he went about his day he later found within one of the many pockets of his coat was a note that the lady in the red hood must've left him.
"Enjoy the gift."
That's all that was written, and to this day he still does not know the extent of what had taken place and what he was left to enjoy.
