Yurei, a living reflection of Hatsuyuki, stands at five-foot-four and weighs a modest one hundred and twenty pounds. His porcelain-white skin, flawless and smooth like fine china, contrasts sharply with the dark, ink-black hair that cascades like silk down to his knees when untied. Typically, his hair is secured in a high ponytail, which not only keeps his vision clear during combat but also highlights the sharpness of his androgynous features. His piercing sapphire-blue eyes are striking against his pale complexion, giving him an otherworldly elegance. The scars scattered across his body tell the story of countless battles, each one a testament to the intense training and discipline he underwent under Hatsuyuki’s guidance. Fine, white lines mar the otherwise perfect skin, subtle reminders of sword strikes narrowly avoided or endured in combat. Some are faint, fading with time, while others remain more prominent, particularly along his arms and torso, where the blade of a katana has left its most lasting impressions. When not adorned in the Snarling Oni armor set gifted by Hatsuyuki, Yurei often wears his predecessor's old garments, finding comfort and connection in them. He commonly dons a flowing kimono in shades of white and light blue, with wide, gracefully draped sleeves that enhance the fluidity of his every movement. His lower half is clad in fitted hakama pants, perfectly tailored to match the kimono’s color scheme and allowing for unrestricted mobility. A thick blue obi belt secures the outfit, while a sleeveless light blue hifu jacket adds both style and practicality. | Yurei’s personality has been profoundly shaped by his upbringing under Hatsuyuki’s strict guidance. As a clone designed to be a perfect reflection of his predecessor, Yurei has internalized many of Hatsuyuki’s traits, becoming a relentless and disciplined individual. His dedication to training is nothing short of obsessive; he pushes himself beyond the limits of physical endurance, often preferring to suffer injury rather than miss an opportunity to improve. Each scar on his body is a testament to his unyielding resolve and his willingness to sacrifice for even the smallest chance to advance. This relentless pursuit of perfection extends to his studies as well. Yurei is often found in his mentor's library, poring over tomes on ancient runes, swordsmanship, and mystical arts. His thirst for knowledge is insatiable, and he immerses himself in learning, seeing it as another form of battle—a mental duel where victory is measured in understanding and mastery. Social interactions, however, are not a priority for Yurei. His focus on becoming a true doppelganger of Hatsuyuki has led him to distance himself from others, seeing relationships as distractions from his ultimate goal. This has made him appear cold and anti-social, as he rarely seeks companionship or camaraderie. Yurei prefers solitude, finding comfort in the quiet of his studies or the disciplined rhythm of his training. When given a task, he tackles it alone, driven by a deep-seated belief that only through individual effort can he truly prove himself. This self-reliance and preference for solitude make Yurei a solitary figure, someone who walks a path defined by personal challenges rather than shared experiences. His world is one of focus and determination, where every action is a step toward becoming the perfect replica of the man who created him. |

Sealed In A Blooddrop On Yurei's Forehead |
---|
The Bloodfrost Shard is a sixteen-inch crystalline blade that gleams with an icy, blood-red hue. The hilt of Bloodfrost Shard is made of the same blood-red crystal as the blade and is eight inches in length. The shape of the blade is modeled after a standard kunai, though there are three spikes surrounding the circular pommel. Serrated hooks line both edges near the guard, crafted for precise piercing and rending, dealing even greater damage as the blade is withdrawn. When dormant, it manifests as a crimson, blood-drop sigil etched on Yurei’s forehead. The blade is telepathically controlled and moves with a [Speed] of 25. The [Strength] of the Bloodfrost Shard is 25. The true danger of the Bloodfrost Shard lies in the deadly Bloodfrost Poison. Victims cut or impaled by the Bloodfrost Shard will find their muscles seizing and their blood chilling, suffering a -4 penalty to their [Speed] and [Strength] stats, leaving them at the mercy of Yurei's blade. This penalty lasts for eight posts, or until cured. |

Technique Information
Suijin KenjutsuShow
Suijin Kenjutsu:Suijin ♦ RaindropHatsuyuki, a shinobi from Kirigakure, has pioneered a unique taijutsu style known as Suijin Kenjutsu. Unlike traditional forms, which often emphasize rigid techniques, Suijin Kenjutsu revolves around fluidity, adaptability, and precise movements. Inspired by the relentless power of water, practitioners of this style emulate its dynamic nature in combat.
Suijin Kenjutsu revolves around continuous, seamless movements that maintain constant pressure on opponents, akin to the relentless flow of a river. Each strike is executed with meticulous precision, aiming for vital points to maximize effectiveness. This adaptability allows practitioners to effortlessly transition between offense and defense, reacting fluidly to the evolving dynamics of battle.
Deeply rooted in the natural world, Suijin Kenjutsu reflects Hatsuyuki's profound connection to water's fluid, adaptive, and potent qualities. This philosophy enhances both the physical techniques and mental clarity of its practitioners, fostering harmony and efficiency in combat. Hatsuyuki's creation of Suijin Kenjutsu has made its practitioners formidable fighters, adept at seamlessly integrating traditional swordplay with versatile hand-to-hand combat techniques, embodying the unpredictable and relentless spirit of Kirigakure.
Required Concentrations: [Sword Weapons], [Advanced Channeling], [Deft Hands], [Suiton]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Raindrop is a foundational technique in Suijin Kenjutsu, inspired by the serene moment of a single raindrop falling from a clear sky. Embodying complete relaxation and focus, the practitioner swiftly draws their blade and executes a precise downward thrust. This technique is typically aimed at the vulnerable hollow between the collarbone, exploiting the opponent's unguarded moment with swift and calculated efficiency.
Suijin ♦ Shifting Waterflow
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Shifting Waterflow appears deceptively simple in theory but demands precision in practice. This defensive technique enables the user to deflect an incoming attack and potentially disarm their opponent without relinquishing their weapon. When targeted by an attack, the user employs either their palm or the back of their hand to redirect the opponent's arm inward, then downward, and finally outward away from themselves. Simultaneously, the user may twist the opponent's wrist, aiming to force them to release their weapon.
Suijin ♦ Calm Before The Storm
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisites: [Perception]
Suijin emphasizes fluidity and adaptability, guiding its practitioners to embody the tranquility of a clear pond—calm yet poised for change. In the Calm Before The Storm stance, the practitioner enhances their Perception, enabling them to anticipate and respond swiftly to visible incoming attacks with heightened agility, akin to gaining a +3 bonus to their [Speed] attribute. However, this heightened reaction speed comes with a trade-off. The first strike made after utilizing this stance is executed with a -3 penalty to the user's [Strength] attribute, reflecting the momentary focus on speed over power. Visually, the practitioner maintains a composed and focused demeanor, their gaze subtly intense with heightened Perception. Their breathing remains steady and controlled, embodying the calm surface of the pond. The sword arm is positioned gracefully, ready to draw the blade swiftly yet with precision from its sheathed position.
Suijin ♦ Shifting Rain
D-Rank Ninjutsu
Shifting Rain is a fundamental technique of Suijin Kenjutsu, highlighting the style's emphasis on fluidity and adaptability. By channeling chakra into their blade, the user coats it in a dynamic layer of water. This flowing water layer allows the user to alter the direction of an incoming physical attack when defending, effectively redirecting it. By utilizing this technique, the user leverages their [Control] stat instead of their [Strength] stat when blocking physical attacks, demonstrating the power of precise, fluid movements over brute force.
Suijin ♦ Tempest Blade
D-Rank Ninjutsu
Tempest Blade embodies the fury of a stormy sea within the precise strikes of Suijin Kenjutsu. The practitioner channels chakra through their blade, creating arcs of water that resemble crashing waves with each swing. These arcs of water enhance the cutting power of the blade, slicing through defenses with the force and unpredictability of a tempest. This technique is particularly effective in close combat, where its dynamic fluidity can overwhelm opponents and exploit their vulnerabilities. The projectile is three feet long, and four inches at it's widest point, and tapers off towards the ends of the crescent shape. The blade moves with a [Speed] and [Strength] equal to the user's [Control]. These blades can travel up to [Control] meters before breaking apart.
Suijin ♦ River's Current
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
River's Current simulates the relentless flow of a river within the practitioner's movements. With each strike and parry, the practitioner maintains a steady, flowing motion that mirrors the currents of a river. This technique allows them to maintain continuous pressure on opponents, gradually wearing down their defenses with a series of fluid and controlled attacks. After each successful strike, the next strike is considered to be made with +1 Strength to a maximum of +3.
Suijin ♦ Ocean's Embrace
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
Ocean's Embrace embodies the vastness and unpredictability of the ocean within the practitioner's stance and technique. By adopting a wide, sweeping stance and fluid movements reminiscent of ocean waves, the practitioner enhances the [Speed] of their attacks by +5, however, the [Strength] of their attacks is reduced by -5. This stance allows for rapid, flowing attacks, akin to navigating the ebbs and flows of the ocean's currents. It emphasizes the practitioner's adaptability and ability to harness the power of water in combat, maintaining a dynamic balance between offense and defense.
Suijin ♦ Riptide Grip
C-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Riptide Grip harnesses the forceful pull of an ocean's riptide within the practitioner's movements. When an opponent's attack is deflected, the practitioner uses their free hand to grasp the opponent's wrist. Simultaneously, they ram their shoulder into the opponent's solar plexus, channeling chakra to generate a wall of water that erupts from their shoulder. This wall of water pushes the opponent backward with a [Strength] equal to the user's [Control], while the user's grip pulls the opponent in the opposite direction. If the practitioner's [Strength] is 5 or more points higher than the opponent's [Endurance], this maneuver can dislocate or even remove the opponent's arm. This technique requires precise timing and control, making it a powerful tool for close-quarters combat.
Suijin ♦ Floodgate Sweep
C-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Floodgate Sweep channels the overwhelming force of opening floodgates into a single, powerful motion. The practitioner crouches low and swings their blade in a wide arc at the opponent's legs. This sweep is designed to knock the opponent off their feet with the sheer force of the swing. By simultaneously channeling chakra into the blade, a burst of water pressure is generated upon contact, increasing the impact and making it difficult for the opponent to maintain their balance. The burst of water moves with a [Speed] and [Strength] equal to the user's [Control].
Suijin ♦ Whirlpool Grasp
C-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Whirlpool Grasp utilizes the forceful suction of a whirlpool to trap and control an opponent. The practitioner engages the opponent at close range, grappling their arm or wrist. With a swift, twisting motion, they channel chakra to create a spiraling flow of water around their hand and the area they have grabbed the target, enhancing the hold. This water flow makes it difficult for the opponent to escape and allows the practitioner to direct their movements, setting them up for a decisive strike or disarmament. The tendrils of water connecting the user and the target form at a [Speed], and have a [Strength] that is equal to the user's [Control].
Suijin ♦ Waterfall Strike
C-Rank NinTaijutsu Maneuver
Waterfall Strike embodies the overwhelming force of a waterfall crashing down. The practitioner channels chakra into their blade, imbuing it with the weight and power of falling water. As they execute a powerful, downward slash, a burst of water is released from the dull side of the blade. This burst of water adds significant force to the strike, making it capable of breaking through defenses with a [Strength] equal to the user’s [Control]. The additional water pressure ensures that the strike can overwhelm an opponent’s guard and deliver a crushing blow.

History
HistoryShow
Yurei’s origins are as cold and calculated as the environment in which he was created. Born in a sterile lab as a perfect genetic clone of Aisu Hatsuyuki, Yurei was not brought into the world out of love or chance, but rather for a specific purpose: to replicate not just a person, but an ideal. This process was meticulously planned, with the decision made to raise Yurei as an infant to allow him to grow naturally and become the ideal doppelganger of his predecessor. His early years, spent under the care of Hatsuyuki's parents, were the only time in his life that bore any semblance of normalcy. However, the weight of his true purpose loomed over him. His childhood was not for personal development or joy; it was merely a brief pause before the true path of rigorous training would begin.
As soon as Yurei was able to walk, he was handed over to Hatsuyuki, his true guardian and mentor, and his life of relentless training began. Unlike most children, Yurei's formative years were not filled with play or leisure but with the honing of his body and mind to become the ultimate swordsman. From dawn until dusk, his life was consumed by physical training, where his body was pushed to its absolute limits. He was taught to endure pain, to overcome the exhaustion that would cripple most, and, perhaps most crucially, to sacrifice anything for victory. Yurei's swordsmanship was marked by a willingness to trade injury for injury, a ruthless tactic ingrained in him by Hatsuyuki. Each sparring session was a test of his endurance and resolve, as he accepted pain as part of the process of mastering his art. Cuts and bruises were constant, and his scars became badges of honor, evidence of his determination to succeed no matter the cost.
This mentality continued into his time at Kirigakure’s ninja academy, where Yurei’s approach to training remained as relentless as ever. Unlike his classmates, who hesitated to take risks or sustain injuries, Yurei never flinched from trading blows if it meant securing a victory. His willingness to endure pain and injury set him apart, earning him a reputation as a fierce and unyielding fighter. His training was not simply about winning or losing but about perfecting his craft. Every lesson, every wound, and every scar contributed to the evolution of his skill as a swordsman. Even during group exercises or sparring sessions, Yurei stood out due to his unshakable focus, his ability to push through physical suffering, and his razor-sharp determination.
At the academy, Yurei also began to immerse himself in Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, expanding his skill set beyond swordsmanship. While he excelled in these areas, his foundation remained rooted in the intense, pain-filled lessons of his swordsmanship. No matter what new challenges were thrown at him, Yurei continued to approach them with the same mentality instilled by Hatsuyuki: that injury was a price worth paying for mastery, and that discipline and sacrifice were the only paths to true strength. Through all of this, Yurei was driven not only by the desire to become strong but by the knowledge that he was more than just a student; he was the continuation of Hatsuyuki’s legacy. His scars, both physical and emotional, marked him as not just a warrior but the living embodiment of the man who had shaped him.
During his final exam, Yurei received a command from Hatsuyuki that seemed to defy reason: he was to rely solely on his swordsmanship and forbidden from using his Kekkei Genkai. While the instructors viewed this restriction as an unnecessary hindrance, Yurei accepted the order without hesitation. He understood that this test was not just about passing the exam, but about proving his mastery of the blade—an art that Hatsuyuki had painstakingly drilled into him.
Without complaint or compromise, Yurei approached the mission with his usual calm determination. Where other students would have relied on their special abilities to gain an advantage, Yurei’s only weapon was his skill with the sword. Not only did he fulfill the task of eliminating a target, but he exceeded the expectations set before him. Upon his return, Yurei carried the heads of three criminals instead of the required one, his silent defiance a testament to his unyielding discipline and lethal efficiency. What had been seen as a handicap by the instructors became proof of Yurei's ruthless precision and unwavering obedience to Hatsuyuki's will.
On the day Yurei graduated from the shinobi academy, a day meant to mark his formal entry into Kirigakure’s ranks, he was given a gift that symbolized more than just his accomplishments. Hatsuyuki, his mentor, and the man whose shadow he had lived in, presented him with the Snarling Oni armor set. This armor, meticulously forged by Hatsuyuki himself, was more than mere protection—it was a manifestation of Yurei's years of relentless training and his unwavering dedication. Alongside this armor, Hatsuyuki also entrusted Yurei with his primary gear, a sign of deep respect and acknowledgment that Yurei had become more than just a student; he had become the embodiment of all that Hatsuyuki had hoped to achieve.
However, the honor of receiving these gifts was overshadowed by a devastating revelation. On the very day Yurei should have celebrated his success, Hatsuyuki confided in him that he was dying. The man who had been his guiding force, his mentor, and the closest thing he had to a father, was succumbing to an incurable genetic deformity that had plagued him for years. Yurei’s creation had not been a mere attempt to cheat death but rather a desperate effort to continue a legacy that Hatsuyuki knew he could not sustain much longer. In that moment, Yurei realized that his purpose had been more profound than he had ever imagined; he was not just a doppelganger created to mimic Hatsuyuki, but the son Hatsuyuki had always longed for but had been too afraid to have. This revelation shattered Yurei's world, but it also deepened the bond between him and Hatsuyuki. For weeks, Yurei devoted himself to caring for his mentor, refusing to leave his bedside as the man’s life slowly ebbed away. Every moment was a lesson in patience and love, emotions Yurei had rarely allowed himself to feel. He watched as the man who had shaped his entire existence grew weaker, and in those final days, Yurei came to understand the full depth of Hatsuyuki’s feelings for him.
When Hatsuyuki finally passed, Yurei was left in a house that now felt emptier than ever. The silence was overwhelming, but Yurei found solace in continuing the routines and training that Hatsuyuki had instilled in him. The house, once filled with the presence of his mentor, became a place of reflection and solitary training. Yurei honored Hatsuyuki’s memory by perfecting the techniques and knowledge he had inherited, ensuring that the legacy would not die with the man who created it. Now that the ritual mourning period has ended, Yurei has rejoined Kirigakure’s military as a Genin, carrying with him the weight of his mentor’s legacy and the armor that symbolizes his journey. Though he continues to walk the path laid out for him, Yurei does so with a deeper understanding of his own identity—not just as a clone or a successor, but as a son who had earned the love and respect of the man who gave him life.
