Combat Mentality:
Squall normally fights rather unorthodox & similar to a savage animal when usually serious. He is highly skilled in Aztec warfare and occasionally he runs on all fours like a beast, demonstrating devastating reflexes with kicks and lunges that are seemingly very organized and coordinated. Squall favors the two handed, reverse grip style for fighting. It isn’t to go without saying that his combat style is heavily dependent on a champloo mentality. It’s quick and reliant on thinking on the go with maneuvers and risky decisions to bring the battle to a close. This however can be unpredictable, as Squall could kick off into the air and lunge towards his opponent, only to corkscrew and slam his weapon underhanded. Or even use free running tactics and scamper up a tree to deliver a full 180* roundhouse kick. Squall utilizes the environment as leverage and improvises using them as obstacles to deploy acrobatic punches, he even incorporates parkour into dance moves which propel his legs like a propeller or top. Squall primarily uses this tactic to indirectly attack his adversary.

TaijutsuShow
*[Shinden • Swaying Peltandra]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The use of larger swords and hafted weapons often makes close-quarters maneuvering of the practitioner's weapon more difficult. By placing one hand on the pommel/butt of the hilt or low section of the weapon's haft, the user is able to more easily maneuver, twist, slide, and flip their weapon in close quarters to cover a wider range of offensive and defensive options, using the second hand to give full power to their attacks and techniques. This Discipline represents the practitioner's mastery of this basic concept, allowing them to lessen the impact of their weapon's natural blind spots and weaknesses.

*[Shinden • Ambidexterity]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.

*[Shinden • Swaying Cattail]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength.
A practitioner of Shinden must be able to control their weapon as easily as their own breath. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity to both change the orientation of their weapon to cover a different part of their body while spinning said weapon and to immediately change the direction said weapon is spinning without loss of defensive or offensive momentum.

*[Shinden • Stream Splitting]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A simple setup technique, the practitioner quickly and continuously spins their weapon in their hands, capable of switching their weapon between each hand if they wish. This technique can serve as a defense against projectiles and attacks, but its primary purpose is to set up the practitioner for their next attack or technique. Any attack or technique used after the practitioner uses this technique will be instantly launched at the practitioner's maximum Strength and Speed.

*[Shinden • Branch Cleaver]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
One of Shinden's most basic offensive techniques, the practitioner raises their weapon over their head, using gravity and inertia to add momentum to their next attack. The practitioner then launches a ferocious two-handed swing in any single direction. The practitioner executes the cut in a circular motion, allowing them to quickly bring the weapon back to guard against a potential counterattack.

*[Shinden • Hiding Under Mangroves]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Designed to catch unsuspecting foes by surprise, the practitioner can use this technique either as an offensive technique or as a counterattack. Using part of their weapon's hilt or guard (i.e. the pommel/butt of a sword's hilt), the practitioner bashes the opponent's head or face with the handle of their weapon before coming down with a swing in the opposite direction of the first strike. Landing the first blow makes it more likely that the second attack will find purchase on the opening created by the first attack of this technique. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 higher than the opponent's Endurance, this technique will cause immediate localized inflammation and hairline fractures on the point of impact.

*[Shinden • Grass Cutter]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength, 8 Speed.
A simple yet devastating technique, the practitioner executes a powerful thrust towards the opponent. At the end of the thrust, or just as the blade is making contact with the opponent if it hits, the practitioner violently rotates the blade in any single direction and finishes the technique with a slash in the direction the sword was twisted. This additional rotation and slash at the end can further damage opponents or catch an opponent that has evaded the original thrust by strafing to either side, ducking, or jumping.

*[Shinden • Royal Fern]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength, 8 Speed.
Using Shinden's superlative strength to bend the earth to their will, the practitioner spins their weapon and strikes the ground with a powerful blow, breaking the ground beneath them. Depending on the terrain, slabs of earth, rock, and stone will be uplifted where the practitioner struck, providing a temporary barrier against projectiles and attacks. These slabs of earth have a Strength equal to the practitioner's Strength, but they only remain for three posts.

*[Shinden • Toad Skin]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Shinden users understand that the size of their weapons cause naturally occurring blind spots and have trained to shore up those weaknesses in their defense. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to more finely control the natural blind spots of their weapons, passively strengthening their defenses and even allowing the practitioner to bait ignorant opponents into traps. This Discipline also allows the practitioner to easily wield their preferred two-handed weapon with one hand, if applicable.

*[Shinden • Snapping Turtle]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Charging at the opponent, the practitioner grips the weapon's hilt or haft with one hand and rests their other hand on the pommel or butt of the haft or hilt with the other. As they drive their weapon forward in a thrust, the practitioner quickly torques the muscles in their forearm, wrist, and hand on the pommel/butt of the weapon and spin the weapon in their hand like a drill, greatly increasing the penetrative power of the thrust as they drive it into the opponent's guard and, hopefully, through their bodies. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 higher than the opponent's Endurance, this technique will cause hairline fractures, localized inflammation, and minor internal bleeding.

*[Shinden • Leaping Toad]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): *[Shinden • Stream Splitting].
Taking to the sky, the practitioner jumps off of the ground, engaging their weapon in a ferocious spin. The practitioner can choose to complete this technique in one of three ways: a powerful diving swing or thrust, a somersaulting overhead strike, or a midair dodge by swinging the weapon in any single direction and allowing the momentum generated by the weight of the weapon and the swing to carry them in that direction. Due to the sheer momentum of this technique, if the practitioner's Strength is higher than the opponent's Endurance, any armor or weapon used to defend against this technique will be rendered ineffective, either by being rent from the opponent's hand or broken outright. This technique is not as effective when performed with a normal sword or katana.

*[Shinden • Toad Lash]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
The practitioner will momentarily dig the tip of their weapon into the ground, quickly build a large amount of tension in their muscles. The practitioner will then release the tension into a wide, sweeping cut in any single direction, curving away from the ground to avoid lodging their weapon into the ground if choosing an overhead swing. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 higher than the opponent's Endurance, this technique will knock the opponent up or away a number of meters equal to the practitioner's Strength in addition to the damage normally taken from this technique. The practitioner can immediately transition into a defensive weapon spin to shore up openings after the technique if they wish.

*[Shinden • Toad Boils]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
The practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush the opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

*[Shinden • Turtle Shell]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
Momentarily torquing their muscles in their arms, the practitioner slams their weapon's blade or tip down into the ground, releasing the tension in a violent rotation as it plunges into the ground. Depending on the terrain, a doubled circular wall of large twisting rocks, stone, and bedrock will be uplifted and erupt from the ground, potentially striking opponents and providing a defense against attacks and projectiles. These slabs of earth have a Strength equal to the practitioner's Strength, but they only remain for four posts.

*[Shinden • Alligator Skin]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Shinden practitioners learn how to handle their large weapons so accurately that they wield them as proficiently as any normal warrior with a smaller weapon. This Discipline represents the practitioner’s capacity to seamlessly fight with their two-handed weapon of choice as if it were a one-handed weapon. This allows them to perform quicker, more complex movements, guards, and attacks with their weapon of choice without any penalty related to the size or weight of the weapon.

*[Shinden • Alligator Scales]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
A Shinden practitioner learns to endure and deaden pain and resist shock. This Discipline represents the practitioner’s ability to not flinch or be staggered by attacks they receive of equal or lower Strength than their Strength stat. It also represents the toughened skin and bones the practitioner has developed throughout their training, lessening pain and preventing minor injuries that the practitioner would otherwise suffer during the course of combat or inflict on themselves using Shinden techniques.

History Squall, born into humble beginnings in the bustling heart of a sprawling city, harbored dreams that were as vast as the sky itself. His aspiration was not to become a warrior of great renown, nor to seek riches and power. Instead, Squall yearned to be the greatest cook the world had ever seen.

Growing up in the Red Light District of his city, Squall was exposed to a life of hardship and unsavory activities from an early age. Poverty was his constant companion, and the dark alleys of the district his playground. It was in these shadowy corners of the city that Squall first encountered Caliban, a young warrior with a mysterious air about him.

Their initial meeting was far from auspicious. Caliban had been embroiled in a confrontation with some local toughs, and Squall, always curious and quick-witted, couldn't resist the urge to intervene. With a pot of hot soup he had been tasked to deliver as his makeshift weapon, Squall boldly stepped into the fray, using his culinary skills not for nourishment, but for defense.

Caliban, impressed by the audacity and resourcefulness of this young boy, spared him a grateful nod before dispatching the aggressors. It was a moment that would forge a bond between them, one that transcended their disparate backgrounds.

As they talked amidst the steam rising from the spilled soup, Caliban learned of Squall's dream. Squall spoke passionately about the way food had the power to transcend boundaries, to bring joy and comfort even in the direst of circumstances. He believed that through his culinary creations, he could make the world a better place.

Caliban, with his own set of ideals and aspirations, found himself drawn to Squall's unwavering determination. They formed an unlikely partnership, with Caliban becoming Squall's protector and mentor, and Squall serving as the culinary genius behind Caliban's endeavors.

In the years that followed, Squall honed his cooking skills, absorbing knowledge and techniques from every corner of the world. He mastered the art of blending flavors, of turning humble ingredients into exquisite dishes that could enchant even the most discerning palates. His dream of becoming the greatest cook remained steadfast, but it was intertwined with his loyalty to Caliban.

Together, they embarked on adventures that took them far and wide. Squall's culinary prowess became a valuable asset in their journeys, whether it was creating a feast to win over allies or devising a meal that would distract enemies. Through each trial they faced, their bond grew stronger.

In the end, Squall's aspiration was not just about creating culinary masterpieces; it was about using his talents to bring warmth and happiness to the world, much like the friendship he had found in Caliban's company. As they continued their adventures, Squall believed that the path to becoming the greatest cook in the world would also be the path to realizing the true potential of their partnership.

And so, Squall, the aspiring culinary samurai, embarked on his journey with Caliban by his side, ready to savor every moment and every flavor the world had to offer. Together, they would carve a unique legend, one that blended the art of the sword with the art of the kitchen, proving that dreams could be achieved in the most unexpected ways.

So this is an A-Rank Henchman correct?

Here are my thoughts for this character, firstly I want to tackle all the technical stuff.

1. I do not fully understand the ability and what it actually does. Do you have any jutsu examples in a test thread that can be viewed?

2. If this is an A-Rank henchman, then you have only used 68 of your 100 ryo? The equipment were just ingredients so I didn't count that as a priced item. Looks like you just have taijutsu for someone who is going to be ninjutsu focused, unless I missed something.

3. For concentrations it looks like you replaced ninjutsu with sutra, was this an accident?

It wasn’t an accident. I understand I didn’t use all of my points. No, I plan to train when this is completed. And no, I don’t write jutsu in any of my test threads.

Thanks for tackling a couple of my questions, just going to repost the stuff that wasn't addressed.

For example, your char has sword techniques but no sword. 32 Ryo could be used for more jutsu, equipment, armor?

3. For concentrations it looks like you replaced ninjutsu with sutra, was this an accident?

Please can you add in a "Power Rank: A-Rank Henchman" or equivalent somewhere? Just because only a small subset of members know what Heart's 'Hatsubushi' rank is.

Can you expand on the ability a little? You have a couple of different things going on and I'm having a hard time parsing out what of it is just flavor and what of it is actual abilities? Can you just list out what they are in system terms in a post just so I can have an easier time digesting it? Thanks.

Can you expand on the ability a little? You have a couple of different things going on and I'm having a hard time parsing out what of it is just flavor and what of it is actual abilities? Can you just list out what they are in system terms in a post just so I can have an easier time digesting it? Thanks.

Sorry I wasn’t really asking for an edit, just for you to list in a post what it’s actually doing vs which parts of the written ability is just flavor.

Okay, it looks like you changed the ability completely. So a few questions, if you could expand on that, it would really be appreciated: What dictates someone being in the "wolfpack"? Are these feelings shared telepathically?

There's nothing explicitly wrong here that I can see aside from the ability seeming a bit wasteful but you do realize that with 1 willpower the character effectively can't function under any kind of duress, yes?

They can also imprint and share their predatory sensory with those they allow into their Wolfpack. This process is done by the Tatsumi exchanging their blood with the chosen and igniting their chakra. Creating a kinship amongst themselves.

Can you explain what this means? Don’t edit anything, just explain to me what this means.

Does it not make sense to you is what you’re trying to get at? I don’t know how much further I can explain what’s already described. It is very straight forward and doesn’t require me writing a technique or jutsu to execute. Slice your hand and make a pact. There’s nothing complex about that.

Does the person then just get the predatory sensory without an ability slot? Does it also give them the regen? How long does it last? What does it mean by imprinting?

It actually is quite complex from the sounds of it.

Are you implying this can heal others? The only aspect that it explains it shares is the predatory sensory. (How long does it last) That can be expressed and described through jutsu. As the basic write up it would be determined by the Freeform aspect until the stronger version; via jutsu can be manufactured. Are you saying that this cannot be done?

I'm not implying anything.

I'm asking questions.

I'm going to give the questions in list format and request that you provide the answers in list format as a way of ensuring we're communicating clearly and concisely.

1. How long can they transform for? Is it limited to 5 posts, or can they transform for more than 5 posts but only have the stat boosts for 5 posts?
2. It says they can 'imprint', what does this mean, and how is it done? Is the imprinting a jutsu? Do I have a choice if he chooses to imprint me or can it be forced?
3. What happens when this is done? Do they only gain the enhanced senses? Or do they get the entire ability?
4. Whether Q3 is the former or the latter, does it take up an ability slot on the second person? Or no?
5. When you imprint, how long does that last?

I'll explain as I already have described; the app has already taken too long to get accepted and little by little I lose interest to even submit another character. After such is explained and we haven't come to a conclusion to how the ability is acceptable (from this post on), then you can deny the topic, as there isn't any further reason to continue to get the npc approved. Imprinting: acquiring a personal impression or bond on an individual character. By meeting a condition where Squall has endured a particular feeling, whether tragic or strong sense of sentiment towards the character, he is able to exchange his blood with the individual and accept them into his pact. Formally making a telepathic bond between them, they are temporarily granted animal instincts. Lupine Caliber is a toggle, thus Squall is allowed to transform at will. Correct, 5 posts for duration of the shared sensory. Individuals must be willing to accept Squall's blood, otherwise this telepathic link does not apply to them. No, they don't acquire the ability to transform or have autonomous regeneration.

How long does imprinting last? Is it thread long or does it have a more limited duration? I'm confused on how exactly it's working.
