The Conclave of Missing Nin

OOC: Headphones in boys

Six men stood in the conclave.

The hate, the hope, and the disgust was mutual. They did not trust one another and most did not get along. They wore different forehead protectors and some did not wear any at all. Their goals were different and their priroities were marred. They were tired men. Not tired of fighting, but tired of defeat. Most of their lives had been one long obstacle and downhill ride. As they looked across from one another and back at Yaku, they probably all wondered the same thing.

Could he do it?

Yaku was not an insecure man; only a cautious one. He had lived this long for several reasons. He was prudent... quick on his toes, and of course, strong. Not many stood up to him and those that did, he killed. However, those beliefs would not to be held in this meeting. Murder had no power here. This was a meeting of equals. They were all strong and deserving in their own respect. This meeting was held for one simple thing, the direction of the organization and the deconstruction of the villages.

"I did not bring chairs..."

Today, they had gathered in the deep underground bastion of Waterfall Country. With all of their emotions, frailties, and weakness's, he watched them talk. The blacks cloaks, the symbol, and the large dark chamber. A few candles were lit, but the whole room gave off a red tint. It was an eerie feeling, but it represented a long foundation in the history of Henkou. Secrecy. It was of only recent that this so-called secrecy was called into question. A mistake... a problem.

"Licht Brennedes... Spade...." His eyes glanced at the two as they entered through the door. They were the last to show up. The meeting had now begun. For a large chamber, the members were free to walk where-ever they pleased, but Yaku himself did not move. He remained unflinching and stoic at the alter. It had become little more than a fancy table and he readjusted the candle. The light was brightest on him.

"Is this it?" Yaku asked as he reviewed the motley bunch. "Step into the symbols and we will begin. State your names." His hand waved to the floor and each would notice the intricate design plastered into the dusty floor. It was the Henkou symbol. Each point was a placement for a member to stand. There was a sense of formality beginning to set over the group. The order and rules would help wipe away the distrust and chaotic tensions.

Your color of dialogue is below. You are all wearing the Henkou uniform. No exceptions. Any posts may be out of turn and all IC info regarding this meeting, context will not be discussed beforehand in OOC. You all are expected to raise conflict, questions, share information, or anything that will help motivate/move this thread along. By this time, we all have a good idea and vision of the other chars. Don't make this social have to be dragged by me... this will be very short if that happens. Don't make us all wait either. Lets make it fun.

Whistling a generally optimistic tune, Spade casually made his way down the corridor with his partner in tow. A wide grin was obvious on his face, not being covered by his very loose uniform that their leader forced them to wear. Personally, Spade would have burned it and worn his suit, but he was trusting of Yaku, and decided to wear it loosely. The front was completely unsecured, with the ribbon acting as a sash. With his hood off, Spade's long blue hair hung out, and that's how he liked it.

While leaving behind all his equipment was rare, Spade knew he was safe in this chamber of Henkou. Guess it'll be an easy meeting eh... Cackling from excitement, once he and his partner entered, he made his way to the back. Spade did not talk to Licht on the way into the chamber, and instead took to wondering what they were called for. It was during an intense game of poker that he was called, and it was not to his pleasure. Still, he managed to steal most of their money. Being a ninja was such an advantage over them. Now was not the time, however, to dwell on such topics. It was obvious the head of Henkou needed something done, or else he wouldn't have called them short notice.

Peering around the room, it was clear he invited the senior members of the organization, though he only recognized Yaksha, besides his partner. The other guys were faces he hadn't seen, something that was a displeasure. Scratching the back of his head, he began to doze, before Yaku ordered them to stand on the symbols. He chose the one closest to him, which was far to the right. He didn't mind, they would all speak.

It was his intention, however, to speak first. Once everyone was on their symbol, he immediately asked, "To what do we owe the pleasure Yaku, of gathering the force of the organization. Or, can we call ourselves that, since we are not very united. I can only recognize three people here, and that is just plain awful. But, don't mind me, I'm just a King." Though he did not intend to be quite blatant, his message was clear. Even if he preferred acting alone, it was annoying that he barely knew the fellow members of his organization. If they were to go on and do great things, how could they, if they were divided. Crossing his arms, he awaited his fellow members to speak. The grin left his face.

"If you're a king, then I suppose that would make me an Ace." The voice hardly seemed to hold any ceremony or bravado, only a flat declaration, as if he were commenting on the weather. Yaksha's hood was down, and for one of the only times in a while, he wore his own face. His hair, slicked back as neatly as possible, reminded him of his self-control; it reminded him that, above all else, he couldn't let his personal feelings taint his decisions. It reminded him to be calm. Methodical. It reminded him that there was nothing to gain from being rash. Sloppy.

He glanced around the room, looking at each member in turn; a single small nod of the each was all the recognition they got, before he folded his hands in front of his chest, and spoke in a low, hushed whisper. "I must confess, I'm curious why we're here, as well. It's been half a year since I first joined...half a year in which we could hardly even be called an organization. People disappear, and no one has any idea where they went..." His gaze flickered to Saigo, lingering over him just long enough for the others to know quite well who he referred to.

"A member sparks a fight with his own partner, simply because he seems immune to the simple human tongue..." This time, his gaze settled on Laxus, almost piercing through him, before he turned towards Licht. "And a member threatens to cripple another, over a petty grudge...yes, this would seem to be the most disciplined of organizations." He finally turned his attention to Yaku, raising his brow and then gesturing to take in the others.

"So tell us, oh great leader. What brings us all here? What was so important that you had to actually act like a proper leader for once, and expect us to act like we're all hoping for the same thing?"

Laxus slowly followed behind Yaksha. He didn't trust him. He didn't trust anyone in Henkou other than Yaku, but because Yaku was the head of it all, he forced himself to show up. He walking in cautiously, ovserving his surroundings. He was asked to wear his Henkou robe as well, though Laxus always had it on him. He rolled it up from his waist, put on its sleeves and hood and used his scarf to cover his face.

He had never been here before. A proper gathering of Henkou. A proper hide out... But was it a proper organization? They weren't that organized. They had no plan. All the people he knew here were criminals. Rouge ninja who abandoned their village and came to Yaku for help. Each one had their own plans and their own private goal. Who knows when someone accomplishes that goal and abandons the group? They'd get screwed, thats what.

Laxus seemed to be the youngest one of the group. He saw Licht there and Yaku up ahead and of course Yaksha stood infront of him. He didn't recognize anyone else. He wondered why he was here and waited eagerly for Yaku to answer the two others. He himself said nothing. Not a single word. Not even a name. He waited cautiously, uneasily at the back and stared at the front toward Yaku. Almost like a ghost, he acted as if he wasn't even there. He didn't want to be, he only forced himself that he should.

Henkou was a milestone for Laxus to get stronger and that he did. He was prepared to do it at any price but standing there with a group of criminals made his future uncertain. He didn't want anything to interfere with his plans. He trusted Yaku to make him stronger, but even had no right to meddle with his life.

The mad doctor had his nose buried in a medical journal, studying on the latest organ transplant methods. While he couldn't do squat in terms of transplants at the moment, he was making outstanding headway in his endeavors to understand the basics of such a thing. When the meeting was called to order by Yaku, he glanced at the man for a moment before marking his place and snapping the book shut. Taking his place in a symbol, he watched as others did so. He didn't really know the other members expect Yaksha and Yaku, but that's the price he paid for confining himself in isolation for his studies.

Studying them briefly, Saigo made mental notes of each one of them for later, he also made note of Yaksha's appearance since he would have to start taking note of the man's voice more than his face given his taste for disguises. Saigo drummed two fingers softly and quietly against the book he held while one of them spoke up and said he was a 'king'. This of course made Saigo scoff to himself softly as he waited to hear the persons name since Yaku had stated they should state their names.

Saigo listened to Yaskha go on about his curiosity about the meeting and questioned it's members. He smiled smugly as he looked Yaksha in the eye, "We also have a person that likes to hide his face every second he can and belittles everyone he knows. Real 'team player' material, right? But I can explain where I have been at least." Reaching back Saigo scratched the back of his head as he yawned, his smug smile fading as he did so. "I've been busy working in a shack down by a river in the middle of nowhere. Finding a place to study and practice Iijutsu has been a pain lately given the sheer lack of facilities available up to now. And for those of you who don't know, I'm Takamori Saigo."

Saigo let his arms dangle freely as he looked to Yaku, his green eyes catching the candlelight as the flames flickered. He regarded him for a moment before quirking an eyebrow as if to say 'What's all this about?' He'd known the man for a while, and if Saigo was being called to attend it probably meant he'd have to put his research projects on hold for a bit since it meant doing something away from the safety and security of his newly established laboratory within the Conclave. Yet still he waited, patiently wanting to hear what Yaku had to say as Saigo stood there.

Kanjou couldn't stop thinking about the last meeting with Yaksha, not able to get it out his head, thinking about it over and over which drove him pretty crazy, he wanted a way to get it out some how or maybe confirm it all, he just wanted to do something so this is why he sought the man once again.

This is why he set out on his strange course of action to find the sly snake, which he never thought would happen since it's usually he who find him, in any case he managed to pick up his trail a few days and alas he found him though he was not alone as he heading to some place in the waterfall country with some parter both wearing a cloak.
"What this?" he thought to himself curiously.

Following the two quietly he had covered his body with Kikaichuu making himself camouflaged, using their sight to see, soon they arrived at some strange building which he swore he recognised.
"Isn't this? No, I'm right, it is..." he curious thoughts whirled
Suddenly he heard footsteps of other people, looked to his left and noticed another pair coming so he slowly backed off and hid behind some tree.
"A meeting for Henkou?" he questioned all puzzled
"More importantly, why is Yaksha going? Even more importantly, why am I not invited?" his thoughts swirled round with many agendas, mainly curious as to what was going on.

Once no more people showed up and walked into the building, the Aburame slowly made his way to the wall and whilst keeping his camouflage on, sent a small amount of bugs crawling in their camouflaging cloaks into the dimly lit room and took their vision instead of the ones on his armour.

Scuttling into a corner were it was not likly for them to be seen, the kikaichuu peered down on the meeting and Kanjou took in what he saw with the bets of his abilities, finding it difficult to see who was who with the poor lighting besides Yaku who was clearly visible as he poured most of the light on himself.
"So it is a meeting..."

"It's not a threat you petty old snake, it's a promise." Licht said with a small grin as he flipped his hood off. The uniform was much like his own clothing so he really did not care. Though, the ribbon was slightly feminine but that could be ignored. "I'd also suggest you learn to tame your tongue especially in a situation like this where it seems not many people in here like you."

Licht looked around the room. Laxus, Yaksha, Saigo, Spade, and himself. That were all that were left. Only five underlings and one leader against the world. Hopefully they could pull off a plan that Licht had cooking in his head. Little did Licht know, but a certain Aburame was watching too and if that Aburame wasn't careful he'd be caught by Yaku's sensor ability.

"Spade you'd be wise to calm yourself too. I really don't want to clean up after your mess if you cause one. Now, I know most of you but you may not know me. I'm Licht." The tall man stated. Meetings were boring and this was proving to be just like the last one. "Can we move this one along, Yaku? Our last meeting like this was exceedingly stale and got interrupted by some weird kid."

OOC: I use gray colored text. SO switch from lewiss or something. ORRRR this will get very very confusing. EDIT: Yeah this is a lot longer than I thought it would be. Sorry for the long post. EDIT2: Yeap I cut some stuff out.

What game was Yaku playing?

Emotion was the largest window into a mans thoughts. It revealed your ambitions, your stance, and your feelings. It was more than a doorway, but an invitation. However, when a man had no emotion... what was he truly thinking? What was his angle? What did he want? The callous dialect of Yaku revealed nothing. Between Yaksha's sarcasm and Spades questioning, there was no anger and there was no frustration in Yaku's voice. He was an enigma and nothing was betrayed. With all eyes on him, the man slowly turned to Spade one last time. He exchanged looks and with a second glimpse outwards towards the group, a single line would dance in his thoughts. It was a memory that he could never shake. Unity?

“Rule 4: A shinobi must always put the mission first."

He was 15 years old and he stood standing at the shore. They had passed the mission, but at great cost. His teammates were dead.

In this single second, Yaku revealed more emotion than he had done all month. He had hesitated, but only slightly. It was odd for a man of his stature, but a noticeable pause. Was he thinking what to say? Yaku shook the shadow off his face and he took a step forward. He was leaving the alter to stand before them all.

Her eyes were lifeless and her face was more cold than his own. Not a single emotion was displayed. His teammate was dead. The mission had been a success.

These were old memories, but Yaku had never forgotten them. Even when henkou had formed, he had kept those thoughts in the back of his mind. They were small, no longer than seconds, but he clung onto every single one of them. It was these memories that had created him, but it was these exact memories that he had resented. When he returned from the village, they did not punish or discipline him. They congratulated him. This had been the biggest single blow to Yaku's morality as a human being.

Teammates?

His eyes came to attention and he returned his gaze to Yaksha. Behind his cold and placid demeanor, there was a smile. It was hidden, but it was there. Was he angry?

"Five years ago, I formed Henkou, but in those five years… I watched the eventual murder, abandonment, and deconstruction of my members. They came and went.

The members had been just like his teammates at the Mist Village. They came and went. They were nothing more than tools to pass the mission. Just as the village had used him, he had used them. But today, this was going to change. Yaku was now at eye level with them all. He joined the symbol and took a stance in one of the points. The alter was behind him and the candle was no longer visible.

"Some told me that they joined for a purpose, advancement, love, misery... I heard it all. I am a skeptical man, but I am also a patient man."

Yaku did not want an army. He did not want thousands behind him or a castle with riches. This is not what he needed or wanted. He desired something else. Something smaller, but more important. A foundation to Henkou. The Veterans, the seasoned fighters, and the examples that would not only fight for their cause, but for the groups cause. These men would become famous as the elites of the Missing Nin. The strongest of the pact. It would be these 'few' that would lead to change.

"I isolated you all. I put you in groups and I watched who succeeded and who didn't. I kept you in the dark and I watched you struggle. I tested your theories and I weeded the weak from the strong. Henkou started five years ago, but its only now that it has truly begun. The foundation has been built. A mission cannot be won without a good team.

"Today we end our organization and today:"

"We begin our team."

Yaku gripped his old memory in hand and crushed it. No more of the old ways. These were men he could respect. No more tests, no more watching, and no more questions. Today, he would reveal the inner workings of Henkou and the secrets. They would all finally be accepted as who they are and as equals. He had gave them missions and they had passed their missions. He had made a promise and it was time to fullfill their wishes.

"We do not see eye to eye, but we can still fight hand to hand." His eyes went to Licht and Yaksha. There was resentment, but there was potential. His voice was as dry as ash. It was dark, but thoughtful. "There will not be fights and there will not be problems. We will solve things professionally from now on within the org. I believe in the strong over the weak, but us six have already proven ourselves. It's impossible to get along with everyone, but for the org, myself and your peers... we are going to respect the rules. Lets start our introductions over. "

His feet spread apart and the shadow that had been cast over his face lit up as the cloak on his body wavered. Underneath the black uniform of Henkou was a large secret that Yaku kept close to his chest. The blue cloak. They could all see it. Just as Spade had adorned his suit underneath, Yaku still wore the blue cloak that had made him famous. It was an attachment. Something taboo in the Fushinkou world.

"I am Yaku Fushinkou of the Hidden Mist." His eyes clicked and his emotionless smile told them everything. "I have been on the run for twenty years and I hope to someday repay the debt that I owe the villages." His eyes glanced back to Saigo. They were starting over. Everyone would speak, even Laxus until they all had a good idea who each of them were. The veterans of the organization would be established on this day. The plans of war and development would be drafted.

Alright, we can now post out of order. I will post again when I feel enough has been spoken. If you try to phase out and not post for a while, i will send you a nudge. But I hope I don't have to do that.

Grunting at Licht's comment to him, he decided it would be better to see his questioned answered first. Besides, why would he need to become calm when he already was? It made no difference, and as he listened to the speech of Yaku, he liked what he was hearing. Finally, a team. This was what he was waiting for, the group was banding together. That could only mean one thing: Something big would happen. Excited at this prospect, he suppressed a grin. Moving hair out of his face, Spade knew that things would get a lot more fun.

Looking around, he examined the faces and reactions of the organization members. They would be a new team? Introductions? We should have done this long before. With his excitement dropping, he sighed. Meeting new people? He was fine with his team with Licht, even if they didn't do much. Still, more meatshields, and that was something to look forward to. Slouching back, his eyes stayed on Yaku, raising an eyebrow when he heard that Yaku was repaying a debt. Hopefully the payment is blood, that'd mean we are joining along... Yawning, he soon stood up straight. Taking a guess that he should introduce himself, Spade made it so.

After clearing his throat, he said to the members, "Right, I'm Spade, and that's all that needs to be said about myself. My village doesn't matter. I am hoping to do something grand and destructive, which will depend on what exactly we are here planning for, since I assume that's the reason we are becoming a team." After this, he slouched back, waiting for everyone else to speak.

Saigo made a quiet noise as Yaku spoke his final bit about the 'team' they were to become. He wondered how that would work, let alone what was in store for him with Samuru gone. Yaku reintroduced himself, followed by someone calling themselves Spade. Saigo pondered for a moment about what to say as he idly looked to the ceiling.

He eventually became so lost in thought he merely stood there rubbing his chin while he went into a trance. His mind recalled the things he'd done, but not how long he'd been on the run. He recalled killing his last living family member while fleeing the village but for the life of him he couldn't recall his mother or father's names. He recalled the nickname he was given by his village before they found out he was killing people, they called him 'Iwagakure no Toorima'.

Lowering his hand he drummed a single finger against the book in his hand before looking to Yaku. Looking out to the others he spoke up, "Well obviously you know my name. I've been on the run from Iwagakure for a number of years for killing many, many, many people in my experiments. Other than that, all I can say is that I'm pretty damn handy with surgical tools."

Saigo had said his piece, but if anything he could feel that metaphorical itch in the back of his mind. He wanted to continue with his studies and resume learning his medical skills. But he suppressed the urge, knowing that the meeting had some significance.

OOC: I wrote this post twice and wrote this one in a rush. My first one was longer and more thought-out. :(

Laxus dazed into Yaku as he spoke about teamwork and started imagining the back of his brother standing next to him. He and his brother were a team. Look where that turned out: his brother abandoning Laxus and leaving him stuck training to get better just to even come close him again.

Laxus never gave a crap about Henkou. Everything Yaku spoke about, all of Henkou's accomplishments, killings, reputation. The members that passed back and forth, dying, betrayal. Nothing mattered. It was all blabber and nonsense to Laxus. Henkou was a small stepping stone to what Laxus wanted to accomplish. Everything he lived in, everything he knew, petty. He wanted more. More out of the world and more out of himself. He wanted to earn it, his future satisfied, with his own hands, not by the work of others. He was prepared to cut down anyone that stood in his way.

Teamwork? There was no need for it. He joined Henkou for one reason, Strength. He was certainly getting stronger. Both mentally and physically, but whatever this group he joined was, it was never going to last. He didn't need any of them. There was no need for a team. Not for Laxus atleast, but maybe for the rest of the members, it could work.. He did owe them for getting where he was. If working as a team could make them stronger, maybe it could work for Laxus. Not that he wanted to work as a team and definately not because he needed the benefit for a team. It was all for the same goal he was always after. To get stronger, self-satisfation and an ambition.

He was fooling himself and he was fooling everyone in the room. He wanted no part in this but to move forward, he had forced himself to say he would.

I'm Laxus. Thats all you'll ever need to know about me.

"Yaksha Dokuja Monevarius. I don't think there's a single soul here that doesn't know me in some capacity, so I'll forgo the bravado and self-promotion. Just know that I remain loyal to those loyal to me...and I never forget a favor owed." His bow seemed more like an endeavor in complicated mathematics than a mere sign of obeisance; his arm was held out perfectly straight, his body tilted forward just enough for his hair to spill forward. He rose once more, running a hand through his hair, and then placing the hat back on his head.

"I have few of what you'd normally call goals. I simply wish to be free of the wretched nations, and their hypocrisy. If violence is the only key to that freedom...then so be it. Now that we've gone past the formalities, and we're all making nice...let's talk business."

He grasped the handle of his cane, turning the top quickly, and drawing his sword in one smooth motion. As the wooden cover fell to the ground, he leaned forward on it, as his gaze ran across each face. "We...are professionals. We may not act like it, and we may not appear so, but we are. This is who we are, and if I do say so, we're all the best at what we do. But that does mean we are the best. It does not mean we're not a group. We're down to six, gentlemen. I've no doubt any one of us could, if we truly put ourselves to the task, defeat one of the Bannin. But there are FIFTEEN of them, and only six of us. With a single misstep, all six of us could be wiped away. We've done well to remain as hidden as we have, up to now; but we can't hide much longer. Whatever is coming next is simply too big to hide. And that means we need to start playing smart."

He glanced at Yaku, and nodded his head slowly, before flicking his blade towards Saigo, pointing right at his head. "From now on, no one is ever out of speaking distance of their partner. Either you learn how to project halfway across the world, or you don't go anywhere alone. We don't need to lose ANOTHER of our numbers because one of us was otherwise occupied." The blade slid towards Licht, and trembled just a bit. His face had drawn slightly tight, and his voice had grown harsher. "From now on, you stop letting your personal opinion of others get in the way of the job. Hate me all you like, Brennendes. Just don't let that ruin our chance to succeed."

The blade slipped towards Spade, and hardened once more, as something close to amusement slipped into his voice. "From now on, we act like a TEAM. None of us are any better than all of us. Don't let your opinion of yourself turn your partner against you. If it comes down to it, I'm sure I could personally remind you that Henkou does not revolve around you."

He paused, silence filling the room, before he turned to Yaku. This time the blade was almost jabbed in his direction, and his tone had turned leaden. "Or you. You may have brought us together, and you may have given us what we've all needed to excel. But we HAVE excelled. And some of us may have excelled enough that we wouldn't much appreciate being treated as if we haven't earned our place in this room."

Licht chuckled as Yaksha turned the blade towards him. He knew the man wouldn't dare try to attack him here of all places and if he tried, he'd be on the floor without an arm or two. He let Yaksha go on, and on some points he had to agree.

"We've never worked together so you have no right saying my personal hatred of you will get in the way of my missions. But, I can swallow my feelings while on a mission and complete it if we're forced to work together. Sure, if someone might hurt you and I have the chance to stop it, I'll let them hurt you but I'll make sure you live."
Licht retorted to the snake.

"I'm Licht, and that's all you really need to know about me. If you wish to ask a question, feel free and I'll answer but otherwise I think I'll choose to stay quite at this time."

The Conclave of Missing Nin

Post by Yaku Fushinkou » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:31 am

It was rare to see so many missing nin in one location. The troubles and pains it took to bring every member under one roof. From Laxus, to Spade, to Licht, to Yaksha, and to Saigo. He knew their histories and he knew their talents. They were tragedies in their own ways and they had suffered just as much as he had. The world thought they could shove these unfortunate few under the rug.

They had been wrong. Yaku listened intently to each name and did not bat an eye. He nodded when Yaksha pointed to him and he smiled when each name was spoken. A fake smile, but he was satisfied.

"If we are equals. This means that you share the burden." The voice illuminated the room and hung in the air as everything remained silent. No one dared interrupt at this crucial moment. If they could not respect one another, they respected this moment.

"The war on the villages..." Yaku left his symbol and took a step forward. He stood between them all and his gray eyes watched callously behind his emotionless mask. His words were strong, direct, and uplifting. The lack of fear or humor for such a grandeur topic was alarming. The man was serious.

"Our war will become our antidote. We do not have numbers, but that is where we excel." His eyes glinted for a slight second as he said this. His eyes fixated on the center of the chamber and he slowly looked up in the darkness of the room.

"Backing the right horse could mean starting the next ninja war. Assassinations, abductions, manipulation of evidence. Once we go down this road...." He paused for a second as he looked to each one of them. It would be an ugly road. They would trade all of the comfort, luxury, and security they had for this opportunity. What drove them? "There is no going back."

He turned his eyes to Saigo and took a step back into his symbol. With a wave of his hand, he pointed to the doctor.

"Explain to them about the Genma."

Saigo watched as he was given the floor by Yaku. Stepping out of his symbol the doctor let out a soft sigh as he stood before the others. Turning his eyes to them, he pulled in a breath before he started, "As you all should hopefully know, the Genma are powerful beasts. Totalling ten in number, the villages have seen fit to turn them into 'super weapons' of a sort. While I don't know the powers of all of them, I can ascertain that Konoha has two of these Genma."

"I also know that Iwagakure has one. It seems they had a little problem with their Genma when it rampaged through the streets. These things are powerful and by now all of them are sealed. The only thing left to do is learn which village holds which, and see how many they have. I wouldn't put past Iwagakure to have another like Konoha, after all the Tenma are the ones who originally sealed and released the Genma, studying them, learning about them, hell they probably have found a way to hold mastery over them like I hold mastery over my henchmen." Saigo made a thinking motion as he rubbed his chin before turning and looking sideways at Yaku.

"In fact that would no doubt be the best place to start. That is of course assuming we can even get our hands on a Tenma. Slippery bastards summon up demons and can use Fuuinjutsu from a distance. An older member of the Tenma clan would possibly have knowledge pertaining to the Genma and what they can do. They might even point us in the right direction on who their Genma might be.... However restraining them is a different story all together." With that Saigo returned to his symbol, handing the floor back to Yaku.

Raising an eyebrow, Spade held his tongue at first, wanting to know what their fearless and oh so brave leader of Henkou was planning to do with the demon monsters known as the Genma. He already knew that they were already on the path to glory, and any turning back was instantly executed. But what the hell did this guy have in mind? He only heard of the horrors of these beasts when he traveled, yet, they were like a trophy. If their group had one, they'd go down in the history scrolls as the greatest ever. Spade scratched his head, while turning his attention to this supposed Saigo. Who the hells this guy? Obviously he knew something, but what?

Soon the man rambled on about common knowledge, talking about his former village and konoha. This was boring, everyone else knew this. Being a man on the road, rumors are easy, especially among traders. Still, his point wasn't made again. It wasn't until he mentioned the name Tenma that his attention shot up. They're not seriously thinking about... And his assumption was correct, this Saigo was suggesting they kidnap a Tenma clan member. Even in his time in Iwagakure he only knew they had a place to live, and that was it.

Once this man finished his talking, Spade decided to voice up. Not moving from his spot, he asked, "So, we're attacking Iwagakure eh? Nice place, lived there for 16 years. But, my true question is, why not Kirigakure? Me and Yaku did do some work to take out a ghost and his master, so they should be weaker right now. Sides, I don't think Iwagakure would be happy to see me if I showed up." With that he slouched back, waiting for his answer.

"No one says you need to, dear Spade. You're forgetting just who's in your midst, gentlemen. I am Yaksha Dokuja; quite possibly the longest-lived nukenin of this generation. You don't survive as long as I have by collecting bottle caps." He reached into a pocket, drawing out a scroll and touching a finger to it. Yaksha's eyes closed, the lids fluttering just slightly, as he began to intone, as if reading a list. "Which would you like? The gruff, grizzled veteran, with enough scars to look like something from a childrens' cautionary tale? The tanned, exotic wonder, with a head so bald that it seems to be polished? Or perhaps our best bet here is something simple? I'm thinking...yes, brown eyes would work best..."

He tucked the scroll back away, his eyes opening slowly, and his head tilting to the side just far enough to send sympathetic aches through each neck in the room. "Espionage has always been my forte, as I'm certain you know by now. I have my finger in every pie that I come across, and I'm never at a loss for contacts. These Tenma are our target? Then rest assured, gentlemen, that we shall have a Tenma by the end of the month." His gaze shifted towards Yaku's, his brows raising slowly, as if to emphasize his words, before he turned on a heel.

"Really, now. Is this all you called us here, for? I'm a busy man, and you've just made me a bit busier...if that's all, I suppose I'll be taking my leave." The words came out slowly, almost as if they held fangs themselves. Those were words anyone in the room could've tripped over. They were words that could spell their end, if they weren't careful.

"After all, it's not like we could trust Licht or Laxus with the job. I'm certain they'd simply cut off the target's head so they'd have a nice quiet trip back."

OOC: Point of fact Sabre, knowing what villages have Genma is not common knowledge let alone how many they have. They only common knowledge is that they're powerful beasts from what I've learned from Oreo.

Can't trust me with the job? Heh. Thats a pretty big assumption there, you snake.

Laxus wanted to say it, but he remained quiet and listened on further.

The Genma...

He had heard very little about them. Come to think of it, Kumo had one too. He couldn't recall his name. He never really paid much attention of it.

Though undoubtedly, they were very powerful. Something like that could stomp away people wanting to interfere. Something like that could make a man unstoppable. But to achieve it, the group had to stop the unstoppable.

There is also the fact Genma can only have one host. Such power... any man would want it. Any man would fight for it. What stops Henkou for fighting amongst themselves for it? Everyone in this room hated each other. Yaku was still the strongest one here. From the looks of it, it looked like he wanted us to get the Genma, fight each other for it and claim it for himself. That wasn't very ideal.

Laxus couldn't careless about the Genma. He had not heard much about them outside of their respected villages. If they don't bother him, why should he bother them? But being a rouge ninja as he was, when the time comes, he would have to deal with them whether he liked it or not.

It was a puzzler. Let the villages keep their Genma and have the power to destroy us, or steal them for ourselves only to kill each other over greed?

A decision had to be made.

Suppose we manage to capture a Genma, then what? The village will be after us and I'm pretty sure the other Great Nations won't keep quiet about it too. The entire world will be after our ass.

"I'm still fashionably late, aren't I?" The clear, cheerful not-quite-tenor that rang out in interruption might have proven surprising. The door to the chamber had been opened and closed with nary a sound, and not even Renjiro's footsteps had been audible until he'd made it a few meters into the room. He'd been perfectly visible the entire time, just eerily quiet. His lithe body was shrouded in a Henkou robe, though the hood was drawn back to reveal his wicked grin and hungry eyes. Those eyes fairly raked across the assembled nukenin as, without pause, with poise and confidence, he moved to stand in the unoccupied symbol beside the one that Yaku had stepped out of.

His gaze drifted lazily to Yaksha, to whom he offered a smile nothing less than demure. "Of this generation, perhaps..." The words were slow, nearly unctuous. "But longest lived? I am afraid not." Of course, the upstart hardly looked half Yaksha's age. For a brief instant, he let pour his eyes convey the full weight of his existence, but the polite smile remained fixed. He swept his gaze clockwise around the room, his chin dipping just slightly in a nod to Yaku before he addressed the conclave.

"You'll have to forgive my tardiness." His eyebrows lifted, and then, as a lazy afterthought: "And my eavesdropping." The gears had shifted. Playful malice still colored his voice and expression, but he did not seem, in that moment, accustomed to being ignored or denied. "I will make this brief. You may call me Renjiro, or Renji, or Renji-kun, if you're feeling particularly adventurous. I'm not really one for formalities. I am, however, invested in the success of this meeting and this organization for reasons that you'll likely discover over time."

He had relaxed with his robe-shrouded arms folded over his stomach in a somewhat hugging fashion, his right hip bumped forward just a bit. He clapped his hands together, though, like a school teacher might when seeking the attention of a pack of unruly pupils. "Now, the boy here," and judging by the way he canted his head toward Laxus, he was the boy to whom he referred, "Raises an excellent point." He afforded a few seconds of pause, rhetorically perfect, before looking pointedly at Yaku. "What will we do, once we've invoked the wrath of the Five Supposedly Great Nations? And what will we do with the Spirit Beast, once we acquire one?

The Conclave of Missing Nin

Post by Yaku Fushinkou » Thu Aug 04, 2011 9:21 pm

Six... now Seven men stood in the room. The candles wavered and the atmosphere choked at their throats. Everything became silent and the world began to narrow between each face. The gray eyes, the green eyes, the blue eyes, the eyes behind the visor... their questions flickered between each of them and Yaku stared somberly between each face.

In this world, it was dark. The air was stuffy and the light was dim. Their individual Henkou uniforms adorned one another and as Yaku's own eyes rested on each of theirs, he intook the surreal moment of it all. The unison and formality behind it. It was enchanting and though they did not see it themselves, they had successfully mobilized the Missing Nin. Their questions of danger, fear, and concern were unchecked by him. It was trivial to the man. A man without fear.

"Its inevitable. The more power we amass... the more attention we will receive. I never said that it would be easy." His eyes clicked and each of their visions dawned on him. He brought them in and with a point of his finger, he twisted their sight. "There are options though. Plenty of options. I'll leave this to Yaksha. The man notorious for his elusiveness." The Uniforms could always be changed, Faces reworked, Hideouts switched, and Deaths re-enacted. There was options, but these were things that seemed way too distant for the S-rank to be too concerned. His eyes flicked once again as they rested on the Yamanaka.

Why the Genma?

"We will become too powerful to stop. Too powerful... too late. The Genma will be a device for war, Renjiro. Nothing more... Their work of Takigakure is proof of this."

However, Yaku didn't want to divert the meeting on one subject. The Genma was only a footnote in his plans. A steppingstone to power. From Waterfall to Kirigakure, there was so much more to expand on. The Tenma could be a device to information, but he didn't want to put too much weight on their importance. There were still many doors open. The Cardslinger popped up and Yaku turned his head. Kirigakure was in trouble... but just like the Tenma and Iwagakure; he didn't want one primary target.

"Kirigakure? It will be more than just ONE village, Spade. Not at all. Our war will include every single village. We will need allies, resources, strong firepower, and dedication. This country will need to be built up and assimilated."

His statement was slightly bold. Even for his taste. He loathed talking about war so freely, but he wanted to emphasize this point the strongest. Their organization was not built on the foundation of peace, but the creation of it. War was his means to peace. They would need more information however and he returned his eyes back to Saigo. "I will rely on myself and Saigo to uncover whatever information we can on these beasts. Groups might be split up to accommodate and-"

Yaku would of continued, but paused... someone else was here and he let his words fall. His chakra abilities were already scanning the room. "-And I will assign tasks."

"So nice of you to join us, Renjiro. You know...for a second I forgot you were a part of our organization. Perhaps because it seemed you had forgotten it, yourself." Yaksha's voice was dripping with vitriol; for the first time in their meeting, it appeared Yaksha had truly been put off by something. He leaned on his cane, both hands tightening around it, as he began to walk slowly towards the Yamanaka. "I can't really blame you for not hearing, while you were so busy looking for someone to feed you straight lines. But, because it's you, I'll repeat myself." His cane rose off the ground slowly, the skull still held tightly in his hand, as the wooden end pressed against Renjiro's shoulder. The force wasn't hard, but the message was clear; his lips drew away, and his eyes darkened, as he hissed at the Yamanaka.

"Do not worry about the five nations; those lumbering dinosaurs are blind to things that they choose not to see. We ourselves are proof of that. There will BE no wrath of the Five Nations, if you simply keep your heads down, and trust in me. As for what we will do with the Genma...I'm certain Yaku will have ideas. But you, Renjiro...simply step aside, and let me do what I was given a spot in this room for." He brushed by the Yamanaka, and his own voice issued in a low growl, almost like that of a beast protecting its territory. "Embarass me like that again and I'll have to put your immortality to the test."

Licht could feel this meeting turning bad in a quick way. Yaksha was busy being pissed off at Renjiro, scolding him for an honest question. Hell, even Licht knew the answer to that. If they managed to capture a village's Genma? The remaining forces of the village after the initial attack would give chase to Henkou. Henkou would defend, and there would be casualties on both sides but primarily the village side if the current strength of the organization meant anything at all.

Licht looked at Yaku and smiled lazily, winking at the man. He had only really joined the organization because Yaku was his only true friend besides Kaemon out in the world. He accessed the very tops of his speed to zoom across the room and appear next to Yaksha and Renjiro.

"Now now, we're men. Not teenagers. Aren't we Yaksha?" He asked with a pleasant voice as he placed his hand on Yaksha's left shoulder and squeezed a bit, a little over half his total strength. "Renji-kun has a point. What would we do? I don't know about the rest of you, but I know. A random jounin, or maybe even a bannin if we chose to leave one alive or even the Kage but I doubt he'd be alive, would rally the remaining forces to chase up and get their weapon back. We'd fight back, and well, the forces would be decimated. We may take casualties on our side too if we don't fight smart but I have confidence in Saigo-kun's abilities to patch someone up."

Renji suppressed, easily, the somewhat profound satisfaction that bubbled up in him when he realized he'd so easily managed to sneak under Yaksha's skin. He allowed the scorn, the approach, the faint pressure from the man's cane. If he feared the other shinobi, it did not show. For his part, the Yamanaka studied him with bemused interest, as if he were trying to discern something. Thoughtfulness glowed dully in his frigid eyes, and then, AHA!, he sorted it out.

At least... this was how it would appear. Renji was well aware of the reality of the response he'd evoked, and of his responsibility in regard to setting Yaksha off. He'd been expecting, by reputation alone, a threat that was at least cunningly veiled. He might have let the man off easily, had he met expectations.

Reniro grinned toothily, and lifted his right hand. He'd curled it into a playful sort of fist, utterly unthreatening, and proceeded to bump it against Yaksha's shoulder as if they were old chums. ”Oh, you.” The words were dripping with familiarity and amusement, and he chuckled as he withdrew his hand. Shaking his head, he regarded the rest of the assembly.

”You see what he did there, of course? No? Why, he provided a practical example of what he just warned all of you against just a few moments ago. The bit about, what was it...” he trailed off, tapping his chin and searching the air with his eyes for words. ”Ah, yes. That was it. 'Not letting personal opinions get in the way of business.' 'Acting like a team.'” He nodded, “approvingly”. ”Very clever, you-old-snake-you.” A very precise beat passed, during which his eyes met the other nukenin's eyes. The playfulness, the coziness, it was gone for one brief instant, leaving in it's wake nothing but alien focus. He let the weight of his experience bear down on the other man for almost no time at all... but surely, it was enough.

Enough for Yaksha to realize that his own words had been turned against him, while simultaneously providing him a means to save face. Most of the conclave would likely realize the nature of Renji's little act as well, but he'd left little room for maneuver.

”I'm sure we all now realize how disastrous it would be to allow one's pricked pride to jeopardize the successful achievement of our collective and individual goals,” he finished, letting just a souiscant of tint his voice. The words were for Yaksha more than anyone else, but he shifted his attention to Laxus, Licht (who got a perfunctory little grin, likely for zipping to the Yamanaka's aid), Saigo as he spoke them, before finally returning to Yaku.

He simply nodded in response to what the man had said, smiling breezily. This was just as fun as he'd hoped it would be!

Yaksha's low, pleased chuckle spilled forth almost instantly; his entire body shook as his rich, deep laughter began to reach everyone in the room. There had barely even been a pause between Renjiro's word and his laughter; his mind was already churning out a response even before they had properly finished speaking. "As always, you're so delightfully jejune, Licht. Then again, what else could I expect from someone like you? Always so quick to find faults in others; how else can you overlook your own?" He glanced over his shoulder, en eye closing in a costive wink. "Thrice you ask, and Thrice I say; I've already begun my own methods to ensure the villages will never know who to blame. Merely trust in me and you'll all be fine."

He turned slowly, leaning on his cane, and leaning forward; even with Yaksha's age, he actually didn't look that much older than Renjiro. His face was smoother than any human face had a right to be, and his grin, this time, was almost dripping with insouciant glee. "And you, Renjiro, should know better. This has nothing to do with my personal opinion; my personal opinion of you is that you're the best thing to happen to Henkou in quite some time. Personally, I'd guess you've at least doubled our capabilities. No, no...it's about..." He waved a hand, encompassing the room. "This. All of it; your delightful little attempt to brush your own failure at punctuality aside. Your insistence on turning our proceedings into parlor games; some late-night entertainment." His expression was slowly sinking towards something much more somber, as he ran a hand over his face, and through his hair.

"Yet another of our members who simply can't act professional...and simply asks the same questions everyone else is asking. I would've thought you of all people could've at least offered something a bit more insightful. Now." Yaksha whirled on one foot, beginning to almost glide towards the doorway, as he rose one hand in a lazy wave. "I've other matters to attend to. I'll be in my quarters if one of you needs me; mind the help." A moment later, he was gone down the hallway in a flapping of costumes and the faint, profoundly tired sigh of someone to whom even staying upright was difficult.

Saigo watched the events unfold with the arrival of someone he didn't recognize that was referred to as Renjiro. He watched him swivel about and talk but the words were lost on Saigo who merely opened his book once he and Yaksha went at it. The doctor had other things on his mind like learning greater control over his chakra. Within the book he saw some tips and tricks to try as the method of medical practice he was reading about required a great deal of control over ones chakra.

After going through two pages, the Doctor turned another page and glanced up to see Yaksha leaving. Looking at Renjiro he made a note that this man was probably going to be a nuisance if someone didn't muzzle him. 'It's like he's an asshole version of Yaksha. I really need to put some explosive traps in my section of the conclave, Yaku keeps finding the strangest people to join.'

Saigo thought to himself before looking to Yaku. "We should probably start arranging those tasks before Renji over there starts on his next target for verbal assault. Speaking of Tasks, I do have an idea on where to start for information on the Genma without kidnapping village ninja. I'll follow up on that lead first if you'd like."

Staring at the scene unfolding, Spade brought the palm of his hand to the elevation of his head, and it met with his face with great force. Looking at Yaku, he waited for everybody else to finish. In the meantime, he whistled a tune. Then once they finished, he chuckled and said, "Damn Yaku, do you see the amount of teamwork coming from this room? I can almost feel it. I say almost because Yaksha left, and that brought our amount of amazing teamwork down. Stupendous effort on bringing us together as a team Mr. Fushinkou, bravo indeed." With a small amount of clapping, he soon ceased, grinning widely from this. He had not paid attention to the arguing peoples, as they weren't that important to him.

Yet, once he heard this doctor's proposal, he fancied the idea. Hunting for information on Genma, it could get him away from the area for a while. So, right after Saigo finished, he spoke up once more, saying, "Yes, I agree Saigo, if that's your name, and I'll join in on your hunt for information. After all, I can provide protection. And I don't take no for an answer."

Licking his canine teeth, he waited for someone else to say something, as he had just contributed something to the conversation. Weird.

The Conclave of Missing Nin

Post by Yaku Fushinkou » Tue Aug 09, 2011 6:58 pm

"Renji... Licht" Yaku sharply called as they turned towards Yaksha. There would never be any true team as long as they had emotion. Their arrogance, pride, and hurt feelings would always get in the way. This was the curse of the humans.

"No need for that. We need to remain respectful. Here of all places."

His cold tone was gentle and soft. He seemed to be preoccupied with something and barely even acknowledged Saigo. He gave the Cardslinger ninja and Saigo the go ahead with a wave of his hand. His eyes seemed too fixated at a single spot to give anything else notice. He walked past the two forming groups and gracefully brought himself out of the large symbol.

"Aburame... Kanjou?" Yaku asked skeptically as he appeared before the two large doors that opened into the outside world. Was it possible that the man had infiltrated the Conclave? His chakra was tingling and he frowned as he grew closer. He knew the answer before he even opened the door. His sensor ability had led him here.

The doors swung open with a push and Yaku took a few steps forward. He glanced downwards until he saw a single bug. He lifted his head until he rested on a familiar face.

"Why?..." There was no sympathy. Only business. Behind the simple word of his question were double meanings, complex answers, and something very ominous. Yaku's cold gray eyes looked down upon the man. It was a piercing gaze and it was at that moment, Kanjou would truly realize the weight of the moment. The danger and peril was only a few footsteps away.

Kanjou had been watching for some time now, not really able to hear what people were saying as their muffled voiced quietly made nonsensical beats in his ears but using his bugs he could see the unfolding drama which seemed to spew out from Yaksha, for the snake seemed to be doing his usual job of stirring things up.

After some time the Aburame couldn't help but wonder what all the chaos was all about but soon enough he noticed Yaksha had left which presented a chance to move in and find the damned snake, however soon after the sly man left so did Yaku leaving the hidden nin no time to move as the big boss burst out calling his name.

The bug user felt kind of scared as the leader walked over to his location as if he knew exactly where he was, denoting the fact he probably had sensory abilities, the usually calm Aburame was already somewhat anxious so the incoming gleaming grey eyes made him rather uneasy.

"Yaku-sama..." he said quietly as the camouflaging insects appeared to drain away into his body, including the ones in the meeting room which dropped their camouflage and returned their master's sight as the flew out of the room in plain site and also poured back in the man's body.
"I-I-I... Y-Yaksha.." he couldn't get his words out, mixing his anxious thought from before with the anxiety got when he saw there was a meeting along with the fear of the intimidating eyes.
Kanjou quickly closed his eyes and attempted to recompose himself so that he was as close to his usual clam self as possible before continuing to speak.
"I was simply tailing Yaksha for some time now, trying to bring myself to talk to him once more and I ended up here and I couldn't believe it when I saw not only was he part of the main group but that I was not" his tone was still a little shaky but more calm and collected than before and he followed up with a small bow of respect to Yaku.

He had met Aburame Kanjou several years back under the trees of Konohagakure. It was a much different feeling now. There was no animosity and less stress. Kanjou was a respectful young man and Yaku had high hopes for the Aburame. But with time, the man became more distant and Yaku lost word with his old friend. As he stared at the man before him, he closed his eyes. Before the Aburame could finish his bow, Yaku had rested his palm onto the handle...

Order must be upheld...

With a slice of his sword, his blade unsheathed and came down on the boys chest. It was a thin line and quick. If they had any doubt about his speed, they would know the true extent of it at this moment. It was unforgiving, but not unexpected. Yaku was not known for his sympathy.

"I have killed many men, Kanjou"

His voice resounded through the chamber and echoed against the walls. His cold dialect was not angry, but almost... disappointed. The blow was not fatal, but enough to knock the Aburame off his feet.

His eyes looked down on the man. One of the first ten that Yaku had prided as an elite. Much had changed since then and the meeting came to an abrupt end. The Aburame had lost grace with the org. He had fallen far and Yaku impended above him.

"A long time ago... you stood among us." His voice was harsh and insensitive. "However, you used this org as a crutch. You failed your mission in Waterfall and you refused to better yourself. Many of the men behind me are much stronger." His eyes clicked and he narrowed on the boy. The whole room had panned and had the mans full attention. Everyone knew that they could leave any moment, but they didn't. The instance that Kanjou had been discovered, the meeting had been compromised.

"If you want to be apart of us. Stand up and come forward." Yaku backed away. His sword was sheathed and his eyes opened. There was no symbol for Kanjou to stand on... only the center and it lit up to direct his path. He would stand before them all. He would be in the center.

Kanjou watched as Yaku swiftly unsheathed his sword and swiped its blade in a seemingly killing blow across his chest and though he watched, he did not see for it was a mightily fast swipe which even if he did see it his life wasn't being took but instead the black swirling thoughts in his mind for what was punishment in the eyes of the Henkou leader was a cleansing sweep for the shrivelled Aburame.

The lower ranked nukenin took a deep breath almost as if he had stopped breathing and had started to breathe once again, his mind opening back up to the world as he realised the strike was indeed not a killing blow yet he could still feel the pain of the long bleeding wound he now bore across his chest, the whole thing moving back in real time as his superior's words made their way to his ears.

"Yaku-sama..." he spoke quietly
"Thank you for showing me the true way and for now asking me to join in with the remainder of the meeting" his tone returned back his his usual tone but the coldness was starting to swivel into happiness.
"However, it's clear now that I didn't need to see Yaksha again and that in my path I have lost my way with Henkou, it's clear I am not yet ready to join in, besides I only saw and not heard and so for now let me just be an apprentice of sorts and let me work my way back up as I gain a new for now I know our snaky friend was telling the truth and I shall become stronger for myself and for Henkou!" he announced to the great and powerful mist user, believing it was the best option, standing up and looking directly into the man's eyes but this time with reborn strength instead of fear.

Yaku's face parted into a comfortable smile. His gray eyes had became much more solid and he turned to face the Aburame. The eerie glow of the room washed over the man and the eyes of every member turned. If the Aburame was true to his word, Yaku would see a much different man the next time they meet.

"Very well Kanjou. You are dismissed." Yaku did not point to outside however, he waved towards a corridor. A hallway that led deep into the conclave. The Aburame was free to live here as he chose.

Kanjou would not be allowed to forget the scar on his chest for a long time. It would haunt him until he grew stronger... it would be a burden, but the S-rank hoped that he would overcome. Yaku would give the man time and he watched as the figure slowly exited from their view. The meeting would have to end sooner than expected.

Tapping his hilt, Yaku frowned and turned towards Renjiro. The room had been oddly silent.

"I'll let you explain the seals and their placement."

The Yamanaka would finally get to prove his worth.

If Renji cared about the commentary from Saigo or Sabre, it hardly showed. By his utter lack of reaction, he may as well have been selectively deaf for those portions of their contributions, save of course for a little glimmer of a grin, probably residual from Yaksha's behavior.

At Yaku's sharp chiding, he but shrugged, letting his shoulders rise and fall. Boys will be boys, his grin now said...

And then things got interesting.

Renji's features shifted from bemuse prickishness to intense concentration as he attempted to follow Yaku's chakra signature, but the Fushinkou was out of his range far too quickly.

”What's this about an Aburame?” he mused aloud, not really directed at any of the other shinobi, though he did glance around for the sake of gaining some context on the situation. If it was important enough for Yaku to leave himself to check it out...

It turned out that he didn't need to think about it overlong. Soon, Yaku and the interloper were there, and he quickly sorted out the situation. His grin expanded, bowing a bit more sharply as his eyes roved over this new variable.

He seemed to have become lost in thought, because when Yaku addressed him again he blinked rapidly and shook away the reverie.

”Hmm? Oh, yes, gladly.” He clapped his hands together, rubbing them together in a way that was obviously fabricated glee.

”The first seal prevents the use of ninjutsu meant to delve into the memories of the one so sealed. I will also be tying any memories you have relating to sensitive information to the seal; should you be captured and one of our enemies remove the seal, those memories will be erased. This requires that I read your minds, in order to link said memories to the seal.” His tone had shifted to one that was remarkably professional. Lucid and cogent. If it weren't for the glint of mischief in his eyes, he hardly would have appeared to be himself.

”The second seal allows me to utilize a jutsu of my once-clan over vast distances to a limited degree. Normally, it would enable me to take control of your body, but in this case, I will merely be able to borrow your senses and communicate with you. By doing so, I can relay intelligence from you to Yaku, or orders from him to you regardless of location.” A smirk developed on his lips. ”I was kind enough to design the seal with a means of self removal built in, for the sake of your privacy, should I abuse the access granted. Which I probably will, admittedly, but... anyway, you need merely channel some of your own chakra into the seal, and it will be removed.”

He ran his tongue over the back of his lower teeth, letting his eyes drift briefly toward the ceiling while he ran over what he'd relayed. Nodding in agreement with himself, he regarded those assembled once more. ”Yes, that's everything. Now who's first?”

Licht looked around and frowned as no one decided to speak up for themselves and volunteer to go first. He knew the seals given to him by the Twins might be revealed but hopefully Renji was somewhat kind to him for helping him with a certain garden snake earlier? Licht sighed before he raised his hand over his head from the black Henkou uniform lazily and waved at the Yamanaka.

"Yo. Renji-kun, lemme go first. Get it over with so some of you other pansy will actually go up and get the seals placed on your bodies and the poor guy does not have to physically force you to comply." Licht commented on the silence of the group.

Licht moved over to the mind reading ninja and sighed as he undid the top of the Henkou robe and pulled down the left sleeve of his shirt so Renji could place his seal wherever. Hopefully this would work in his favor and he wouldn't be forced to contact the Twins for an immediate extraction or have to escape the Conclave in a mad dash to run. Only Yaku could really catch up with him but even so, the man was a dangerous force to be reckoned with. One he did not want to fight, ever.

With hints of grace, Renjiro removed from his holster a single senbon needle, and from his pocket, a small bottle of ink. Uncapping the latter deftly, he dipped the former in, mixing a bit and giving the needle a good coating as he looked Licht over from up close, perhaps appreciatively? It was only an instant before he began inscribing.

”You're absurdly tall, I'm afraid I'll need you to stoop a bit,” he announced in a teasing, private sort of tone. Obviously, the nukenin had earned a degree of favor coming to Renji's aid, however unnecessarily. Whether that would prove to be a good or bad thing was anyone's guess.

Once Licht had complied, he began to hum a bit as he brought the needle to the right side of the man's throat. He worked with brisk efficiency, clearly quite adept when it came to the art of sealing. He didn't, however, make much effort to lessen the scraping pain that the needle would cause. Shifting his instruments to perform the handseals that would empower the seal, he finished up, then patted Licht on the neck.

”The next goes on the forehead,” he announced cheerfully, before setting to work to create the small, circular seal. A much longer and more involved set of seals followed, and when he finished molding the chakra, he closed his eyes and placed his warm hand against Litch's forehead, pressing it to the seal.

The Yamanaka's presence in his mind would no doubt seem unwholesome, an intrusion that it was natural to fight against. He twisted his way through Licht's memory, gathering them up like strands and linking them to the seal.

A smirk had twitched to life on his lips midway through the process, and when he opened his eyes and stepped back, it burgeoned into a full-fledged grin- a grin that more or less said I own you, provided that someone had the context that Licht did. His hand trailed down over Licht's cheek, almost possessively, and he met the more powerful shinobi's eyes quite daringly. ”That wasn't so bad now, was it? You're all set. Who's next?” He finally broke eye contact, glancing to the others.

Renjiro had indeed found the damning evidence... but it seemed that he had no plans to share it, just yet.
Seals AppliedShow
Distance Shintensin Seal
A-Ranked Fuuinjutsu
Prerequisite: Shintensin no Jutsu, Control 9
The user can create seals that allow for the performance of a limited version of Shintensin no Jutsu over vast distances. This technique requires that the seal be places on the user as well as any individuals intended to be targeted in such a way, providing a "bridge" for the user's consciousness to cross.

The user need only concentrate on the seal and perform Shintensin. Upon doing so, his body falls helpless while his mind races between the two seals to partially overtake that of the sealed target. The user is capable only of mental communication and piggy-backing on the target's senses. Body control does not function via this method, but all other aspects of Shintensin (including wound transmission) remain the same. The mental travel takes 1 second for every 20 miles to be crossed, and returning takes the same.

This seal is also "voluntary". In addition to being removed by normal Fuuin removal, the recipient can at any time spend one post and a standard C-Rank jutsu amount of chakra to remove the seal. It also bears noting that activating this seal requires the same amount of chakra as a standard Shintensin no Jutsu on the user's part.

Shikou Senpuku Shikuchi [Thought Hiding Method]
A-Rank Fuuinjutsu
Prerequisite: Shinsoujijin no Jutsu
Rather specific but potent in its narrow application, this seal was developed by Renjiro in order to combat the sort of techniques he employs most frequently. Deceptively simple in execution, the seal is place on the forehead of its recipient in the form of a tattoo. Once it is complete, Renjiro will enter the target's mind via Shinsoujijin no Jutsu, linking up to one years worth of memory to the seal, going back no more than 4 years.

The seal itself prevents the use of pure mind reading techniques on the recipient, closing off access to the individual's memories. A Rank fuuin removal can dispatch the seal, but doing so activates the built in trap, deleting the memories tied to the seal.

It was no surprise Saigo was frowning. He detested the idea of someone being able to lurk into his mind when they please, especially after they openly admitted to the more than likely chance that they would. Saigo could remove the seal if he wanted, but sadly it was also advantageous to have it as it kept them in touch with Yaku. He couldn't afford to lose the memories he had due to the fact that he gained most of his knowledge recent medical knowledge in the past few years. It was a dilemma.

True he had medical journals of almost everything he learned, but now he'd have to keep a diary of his exploits if he planned to protect his memories, let alone his knowledge. That and he didn't want other people being able to look into his mind, it wrenched that feeling of control from him and would hinder his behavior greatly.

Saigo merely glanced from Renji to Yaku as he weighed the pros and cons of allowing the man to place that seal upon him. Then again, Saigo could probably create a diverting seal that would transfer the man to one of his henchmen instead, allowing him to keep his privacy. Saigo became lost in his own thoughts as he wondered if the mans seal would interfere with his own Mind Control seal. After all, if the mans seal interrupted his in the slightest, then both of Saigo's slaves would be granted temporary freedom and they would most likely turn on Saigo.

The Conclave of Missing Nin

Post by WrightJustice » Wed Aug 24, 2011 1:04 pm

Kanjou nodded as Yaku had let him stay in the conclave as a living quarters which he appreciated quite a lot, taking up that offer in place of gaining in on the meeting as he thought it'd be a great time to prepare himself so that he could do as he told his leader.

Setting off down the hall the Aburame couldn't help but stop a moment as he turned and looked at the strange nukenin offering to place some kind of seals on everyone, wondering what they were before setting off again before the master got angry once more, bolting off into an empty room he found were he began to lay out his stuff and check it out so that he knew he was prepared to regain the org's trust.

The Conclave of Missing Nin

Spade scratched his head, why he hell should he get those seals on him? If they put a seal on his forehead, it would look ugly, and his face on the missing ninja posters would be wrong. He wore a black headband, but if that fell off, how would he strike terror into the eyes of his enemies. Maybe make it a tattoo of an eye, that would make people think he had three eyes. If it were lifelike, he could easily fool the masses by being scary with a third eye. Perfect plan, and he could easily go through with it.

Then again, why have a tattoo in the first place. Grumbling, he stepped forward to Renji, loudly stating, "The seal to be on my forehead shall be an eye. It will be a good eye. If it's not lifelike, take it off and put it back on again. If its not right then, I kill you. Fine? Fine. Also, make that other one as an eye on a koi fish on my right arm. Can't do that, sucks for you."

The Conclave of Missing Nin

Renji's glance flitted to Saigo, and it seemed he was about to speak, but then Spade stepped forward. Another tall one. The Yamanaka regarded the other man, head tilted a bit, with a dubious expression of awe. Not the sort of awe that was evoked by grandeur, but by stupidity on such a profound level that it merited a few seconds of reflection to properly appreciate.

Rather than respond verbally, he merely nodded, his eyebrow upraised, and set to work with his needle and ink, on Spade's forehead. The small design was circular enough that it might feel very much like a very realistic eye, though of course, it was identical to the fuuin he had placed on Licht, as it had to be. With typical meticulousness and very little care for how the needle scraped, he finished the inscription and began his hand seals.

When he reached up to place his splayed hand against the seal, Spade too would feel Renji rooting through his mind, gathering thoughts and memories regarding sensitive organization information, any he could find, and linking them to the tattoo. When he finally finished, he smiled curtly.

”Now, it's going to feel like I'm putting this on your throat, but it's just a clever very permanent genjutsu. It will be on your arm, and look like an eye on a koi fish, but it's going to seem as if I applied it to your throat, and as if it's just an ordinary if remarkable seal thereon.” His tone couldn't have been more condescending if Spade were actually a half-retarded small child, and he didn't even let a beat pass before he set to work finishing the seal.

”All done,” he announced cheerfully, brushing something imaginary off Spade's shoulder before he slipped backward and turned his keen gaze on Saigo again.

”Something amiss, doctor?”
