Let's Get Down to Business

[Kaida]

Miyuki had sent a missive to Sagi a few days after their impromptu meet up, remembering the intention to train. She had asked the woman to meet her in Kiri’s genin training grounds, where there were multiple practice dummies to use, and the ground had been sufficiently worn down to allow for more stable footing depending on what the older woman hoped to accomplish.

Miyuki herself had done her morning run and stretches already, wanting her body to be warmed up in preparation for what was to come. She had arrived at the training grounds around 7am, she found it best to train first thing so she could enjoy the rest of her day afterward. Her hair was parted into two boxer style braids, her bangs falling slightly to frame the sides of her face. She was adorned in her usual attire of mesh capris legging and ¾ sleeve mesh top with a pair of black midthigh shorts and a green bikini-style crop top, putting her tattoo on display. It was an under bust piece of a lotus mandala with dotted lines and small gems all done in grey scale. Her neck still heavily bruised from her activities with Shinji only days before, the scratches on her back healing nicely and beginning to scar.

She removed her tanto and Katana from her left hip, placing them on the ground and keeping her thigh holster and hip pouch attached as she sat down on the cool dirt. Miyuki placed her hands on her knees palm up and closed her eyes, letting the mist and slight breeze wash over her as she lost herself to the outside noise of the world around her.

Sagi planted a kiss atop of Ayeka's head, bidding her daughter to be a good girl while she was away. The big smile her child gave her was enough to melt the woman's heart before she gave a wave and set out from their abode within the Kawazaiwa estate. Today she'd received a note calling for her to meet up with a new acquaintance of hers at a training ground. Given the early morning and the nature of the meet up, Sagi planned out a change of attire for the gathering. Gone was the usually risque dresses and in their place she wore something a little more sporty. Clinging tightly to her legs were some form fitting pants that stopped around her mid-calf, her torso was clad in a sporty top that was doing it's damnedest to contain the calamity that was her mammaries and lastly, to help conceal the curves of her upper body, she wore a light jacket. Her attire was modest in it's efforts to contain her form and was a simple blue color with a pair of red dots on the back of her jackets collar.

Briskly making her way out of the compound and through the streets, Sagi started working towards a light jog as she moved through Kirigakure. Every step was taken with the mindset of trying to get herself back into fighting condition. Reaching into a pocket on the jacket, Sagi pulled out a strip of cloth and raised both of her hands behind her head. Working quickly, she pulled her red hair back and tied it up onto a ponytail to keep it out of her face as she ran towards her destination.

As she rounded a corner and started making her way along the home stretch, Sagi's brow was already beading with sweat as she managed to maintain her jogging pace the entire way to the training ground. Reaching the entrance of it, the red head leaned forward, hands resting on her knees as she panted for breath. "Running *pant* is *wheeze* harder than *cough!* I remember!"

Miyuki chuckled to herself as she heard Sagi panting up the path that led to where she was seated. "That's why we're here isn't it? To remind you it's not supposed to be hard." Her voice was warm and friendly as she teased her new acquaintance, eyes shining brightly as she stood up and turned to look at the older woman. From behind Sagi would see the various scratches along her back and shoulders, in the shape of claw marks. As Miyuki turned, Sagi would also see the deep bruising around her neck from where she had been choked to the point of almost passing out. All enjoyable experiences, but it was surely startling.

She stretched her arms high above her head, feeling her vertebrae click back into place. Her shorts had ridden up from her meditative stance and stretches, showing off an interesting healing wound on her inner thigh with the initials KS. She tugged at her shorts, lowering them back down knowing it was pointless. This is why she stuck to such skimpy clothing on a regular basis, it was low-maintenance considering the frame her clothes had to contain.

She walked toward Sagi and reached a hand up to her shoulder, squeezing it gently. "I'm glad you came Sagi-san. It's nice to see you again, and so much has happened that I didn't get a chance to fill you in on before." She moved away and picked up her katana and tanto, moving them off to the side as she assessed her companion. She was indeed outfitted for training, but it looked like stamina needed to be at the top of their list. "What do you say to some tai sparring? To increase your endurance and stamina, I promise I'll take it easy." She winked as she smirked at the older woman, having a feeling that the bait presented would be enough to challenge her.

As she finished catching her breath, Sagi straightened up and raised one of her arms to wipe the sweat from her brow. Green eyes had been scanning over Miyuki's body and noted everything before using that raised hand to wiggle a finger in her direction. "And what, pray tell, happened to you? I didn't see those the other day or I was just blind." The question existed, now to see if the answer would make an appearance. In the meantime, the younger woman expressed her joy of Sagi showing up and made the suggestion of some tai sparring. This suggestion earned a laugh from the Kawazaiwa.

"Tai training? Sure, if you wanna see how hard you can laugh at me. I know the most basic of taijutsu and haven't really studied any particular style. If I learned anything, it's long been forgotten to the trials of motherhood. As long as you don't expect much in the way of fancy techniques beyond punches and kicks, then sure we can try tai sparring." Sagi stated before started trying to stretch her legs a little. If she was gonna have to do anything physical now, it was gonna require some stretching on her part. "But while I get ready, what was it you didn't get to fill me in on before?"

Miyuki laughed as Sagi pointed out the myriad or markings now visible on her body. “Truth be told, I was more covered up last time. This is after they’ve had a few days to heal, and it’s slow going.” Her hand went to her throat, tracing the deep colored bruises as she went to rub at the back of her neck.

Sagi’s modesty regarding tai training had Miyuki smiling gently at the older woman, in truth all tai was to begin with was punching and kicking. Once your body got used to it, then you could get fancy and learn some amazing things. “I’m not expecting anything special, but it’s a good way to decipher where you’re at currently so that I can help you achieve your goals.” Her eyes lit up slightly, she had never had a friend before. Her old academy teammate was more enemy/rival than anything, and her masks didn’t allow for anything else. When she had met Sagi, there was something that pulled her to the woman; to offer some sort of assistance. Something that Miyuki still hadn’t been able to parse out or explain.

She sat back down on the ground with a sigh as she watched as Sagi began to get herself ready for their session. Filling the woman in on what had happened was easier said than done. It was hard to say what she was allowed to talk about and what she wasn’t regarding her new...relationship. The only real boundaries established were that Shinji wouldn’t treat her like a whore, and she wouldn’t be with anyone else. Supposedly he was going to find her again, that they were going to date, whatever that looked like. Too much was up in the air regarding Lord Karagata, and even more about herself that she hadn’t had time to dissect yet.

“Well, to start, the man that I was with has come to some sort of arrangement with me. It seems like it would be a relationship of sorts. Which is unnerving, as I’ve never been in one. And he’s not the first choice I would have made for such a connection given his...temperament. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued by him. The sex is phenomenal, the best I’ve ever had. The only sex I’ve ever enjoyed truth be told.” A healthy glow happened upon Miyuki’s face then, remembering their tryst and how it started, it was quite the show they had put on.

“More than that though, he reaffirmed what I had already been changing in my life. I want to pursue my work in a different manner, moving away from the more...intimate positions I get put in. I want to get stronger and be more involved like I know I can be. Though he will more than likely be trouble, I think he can push me further into achieving that. And there’s a hidden softness to him, something that I want to see more of. Both in him and in myself.” Wistfully speaking into the wind, she paused then, debating on how much she should divulge about her inner workings. Sagi had been honest with her about her daughter and the love she lost. Also, about wanting to get back in shape to protect her daughter. They might have been perceived as superficial, but the intent behind expressing them could also be perceived as genuine.

Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and folded her hands in her lap, figuring this would be easier if she didn’t have a visual of the audience standing above her. “I’m not particularly...in touch with who I am and what I want. The downside to my upbringing. I play the part that is asked of me as requested, nothing more and nothing less. But I can feel something shifting inside me, and I don’t know what to do with it.” Her voice held no tone, surprisingly void of emotion despite the weight of her words. She bowed her head by the end of her confession, her thoughts attempting to run away from her while a voice deep inside reprimanded her for her vulnerability. Weakness was not something she could afford, especially not now after having joined the Head Hunter’s Division. And yet...she felt a shift in the wind as her shoulders became looser, a physical representation of her mental unloading.

Shifting her right arm over her chest and raising her left to lock it in place with her right arm extending to the left, Sagi began to start doing some stretches and trying to limber up her body. After holding her arm there, she swapped to her left, twisting at the waist to try and work her upper body a bit more than it was used to. Releasing her arm while listening to Miyuki, Sagi scoffed at trying to assess where she was on a taijutsu level. "I can answer that easily, I can throw punches and kicks. I've been a ninjutsu Specialist utilizing my a customized style of elemental jutsu." Sagi stated plainly before she shifted her feet apart until they were shoulder width.

Bending over, she leaned her upper body towards her left foot and tried to reach for her toes. She could feel how stiff her body had gotten from not stretching like this in a while, having spent most of the past several years behind a desk and doing paperwork for the Kawazaiwa while also handling farm site visits. As she lamented not making stretching a daily thing, she heard the other woman speak to her. Listening to her, Sagi raised back up before attempting to reach for her right foot, body bending at the waist to try and work that stiffness out of her body.

As Miyuki started to recount the man she'd met, Sagi's head turned to glance at her from the corner of her eye. Finishing her stretch, the Kawazaiwa woman rose back into a standing position to catch the end of her friend's confession. Staring at her, she took in what she said and quirked an eyebrow. "So you wanna break the mold you've been put in and this guy is driving you to do just that? I'm failing to see what's so bad about that honestly. I mean... Do you like him? Do you feel confident this change in yourself is the best route for you as a person? A little introspection might be a powerful planning tool for figuring out what you can achieve, what you can't, what you can improve upon to change any cons into pros, that kind of thing." Raising an arm above her head, Sagi leaned to the side and started another batch of stretches.

"I thought love was a silly concept at first until I found myself neck deep in it and with child. My man and I sought to make the best out of things and carve out our own slice of heaven no matter the cost. Didn't wind up working in the end since he died on a mission, but I still have plenty of fond memories to keep me company and the smile of my little girl to tell me my efforts weren't in vain. If anything, I'd like to pursue that dream again someday." Sagi stated, shifting and stretching the other side before lowering her arms and heaving a sigh. "Alright, I can't think of any stretches that'll help me more at this point, what do we do to start this?"

Miyuki watched the older woman prepare for their spar, listening intently as she prattled on about feelings and dreams. Did she like Shinji? Was love something she was really after? Seeing what love had turned her parents into had made her cynical, they gave their everything to each other and their children. And when the twins died, a big part of them died too. Something they never recovered from. Something that Miyuki had never wanted any part of, considering how alone it left her.

Shinji though. There was an obvious chemistry and draw there. She found his strength and power invigorating, it made her feel set free. The cracks in her mask from him left little rays of light shining through that allowed her to look deeper inside and try to decipher their meaning. Not that she was any closer to understanding them. But he excited her, and the glimpses of softness within him gave her the chance to be open. The sex was brutal, but that was after he had already shown her that he could be more. The roughness almost felt like a test at that point. Survive this, and it gets better.

"I've never dreamed of love or a family. Or maybe I did as a child. But my training for my line of work robbed me of a lot of those...precious and fleeting feelings. My partner excites me, he leaves me feeling more than I've felt in years. The fact that he sees and wants for me what I want for myself is just an added bonus." Her tone was quiet, remembering the harsh and traumatic years of her infiltration training. It had left several scars, made her grow up in ways she was sure her parents would be ashamed of. Things that she still couldn't bring herself to talk about.

"I think that's enough of that for now. I'm no good trapped in my head. If we want you to get stronger, then that's what we need to focus on. When you're ready, try and attack me. I'll focus on defense and redirecting while you search for an opening. Feel free to use whatever means you deem necessary to land a hit." Miyuki nodded then, both to herself and to Sagi. There would be time for all of this later.

There was a twang of sadness to the words Miyuki spoke, a way of thinking she had seen many times in many others. But people were capable of change and adaption, both physically and spiritually. She gave a little groan as Miyuki cut the heart to heart short in favor of their purpose for being here. Being told to attack, Sagi raised her hands and tried to remember a basic combat stance from long ago. It was visibly sloppy and showed just how out of touch she was with such things before she steeled herself and ran forward, aiming to close the gap between Miyuki and herself. "Just try not to laugh too hard when this is over!"

With her battlecry given, Sagi started throwing punches and occasionally spinning on the ball or heel of her foot to let a kick spin out through the air but it was all rather telegraphed. As her head snapped around, the older woman at least displayed the ability to keep her eyes on her opponent at damn near all times as she fought. As each strike went through the air, Miyuki would have little trouble dodging the easily deciphered moves before Sagi threw one last punch, trying to see if she could just land even a glancing blow against her new sparring partner.

Watching Sagi twirl around their battlefield attempting to strike her was...something she had not been prepared for in the slightest. It was obvious that the older woman's claims were correct and that she was not a taijutsu fighter, the image the style produced had Miyuki choking back giggles so as not to offend her new acquaintance. She ducked and dodged easily enough, choosing to move quickly rather than block yet. She was analyzing Sagi's movements as much as she was amused by them.

It wasn't until the last hit that Miyuki put any real effort into deflecting the onslaught. As the punch came towards her, she grabbed the Kawazaiwa's wrist with one hand while the other came up to help spin the older woman around and trap her in an arm lock. Miyuki was careful not to put too much speed or strength behind her movements, not wanting to cause any significant damage considering the specialty differences. Holding Sagi's arm half way up her back, bent at the elbow, Miyuki spoke freely. "I think perhaps, unless you want to learn taijutsu, you might want to think of something else, Sagi-san. You may use whatever you feel is necessary to land a hit on me, that does not limit you to only the physical kind." Releasing the older woman, Miyuki took another readied stance and observed. Getting back into fighting shape meant something different to every person who had entertained the idea, for Miyuki it was as much physical as it was mental. It's what made her a nuisance when she chose to be one. This spar was to help Sagi figure out where she wanted to go.

The spin and twist made Sagi let out a very unladylike noise of surprise as she was put into an armlock. Gritting her teeth and wincing at the uncomfortable sensation, the Kawazaiwa woman hated that she hadn't been even able to so much as place a single strike upon her sparring partner. Miyuki spoke upon using what the older woman thought was necessary to aid in landing a hit. Feeling the pressure relent and rotating her arm a few times to work out the discomfort, Sagi shifted away and turned on her heel to face Miyuki. This brought a chuckle to Sagi's lips as she curling her fingers, her knuckles audibly popping. "I'm sorry, are you saying use Ninjutsu to land a hit on you? Or supplement my own Taijutsu with Ninjutsu to aid in landing that hit? Cause there is a bit of a difference for me."

As she asked this, a number of techniques came to mind that could help her in either regard but she was still certain that Miyuki would find a way to push past her offense. Still, it was something she would find useful in seeing where her own Ninjutsu was standing these days. She knew she was good with Katon and had a few Fuuton techniques but the ones she would have wanted to cultivate were her Rinton techniques. Phosphorus Style, a specially devised style that she was hoping to turn into the bread and butter of any Kawazaiwa shinobi in the future.

"Because I have a technique that might prove to be a bit dangerous if used incorrectly." As if to aid with this statement, Sagi formed a few hand seals before holding an arm to the side. With her palm facing a tree, she focused her chakra and Miyuki watch as a purple colored sand like substance would rapidly form into a baseball sized sphere before launching at the tree in question. When it impacted, it slammed into the tree with a sharp crack and promptly exploded, the immediate 3 meter area around it getting struck with small shale like shrapnel and a fine purple dust filling the air. "Rinton will make you a fire's best friend."

[Violet Phosphorus • Rinton Spread Shot]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After forming the necessary hand seals or channeling, the user will hold out their hand and force a ball of Rinton to rapidly form and launch from their palm. This baseball sized sphere of Violet Rinton will fly up to 15 meters out at a Speed of [Control], breaking apart upon coming in contact with anyone or anything. Once it hits something, it turns into shrapnel that blasts out and spreads out over a 3 meter area. Upon impact it will hit with [Control] Strength.

The younger red haired woman watched as Sagi tried to process the direction she had been given. It didn't matter to Miyuki how the Kawazaiwa attempted to hit her, the goal of this spar was to show where she was at in her training so that Miyuki could help her get better. That wasn't possible if the other woman was holding back or sticking strictly to something she had no innate skill in. "It's your preference for how you want to accomplish your objective. Worrying about me doesn't help you."

Watching the demonstration of rinton, the young woman found herself chuckling. If Sagi had greater control then it might be a problem, but as it was there was a significant gap in their attributes. Something only noticeable now because of the strenuous training she had undergone with HHD. Squaring off her body towards Sagi with her feet shoulder width apart and her knees slightly bent, Miyuki would smirk as she looked at the older woman. "Let's try a different approach, it might be easier for you to hit me if I'm attacking you."

With that Miyuki would take off at a slightly slower than normal pace for her, using 25 speed she would sprint in various patterns over the training ground as she tried to confuse Sagi with her movements. It wouldn't be until the very last second that she would commit to attacking. Keeping her sword sheathed, Miyuki would focus on hand to hand combat, assuming Sagi had no shinobi weapons on her. Coming in on Sagi's left side at 25 speed, the young woman would drop down in an attempt to sweep the Kawazaiwa's legs out from under her at 20 strength.

"Well my objective was to get in shape really." Sagi stated before she quirked an eyebrow at Miyuki chuckling at her display of Ninjutsu. The act of chuckling at her display furrowed Sagi's brow as she wasn't understaading something. Was her efforts to cultivate something new a laughing matter to the other woman? She'd come for training to get back into shape, but why was this devolving into a sparring match? Shaking her head, Miyuki stated that it might be easier for Sagi if the younger woman was the one attacking.

"That actually doesn't sound helpful." Sagi stated with a shake of the head before her friend started moving in odd patterns. Sagi started to form hand seals and channeled chakra out from her hand while producing a whirling disc of fuuton chakra. As she tried to keep pace with the woman's movements, it wasn't until she came in that Sagi raised the shield only for a sweeping attack to catch her legs and pull her to the ground. Falling to the ground, the fuuton dissipated as Sagi grunted in frustration before raising her head and glaring at Miyuki. "Maybe I wasn't clear, I'm completely out of combat practice. Do you mind actually pulling the punches just a little?"

Putting her hands under her, Sagi focused her attention on standing again, her shin throbbing from the impact of the kick. She was upset at the fact that she had gotten this useless in combat, not even able to properly track an opponent's moves let alone mount any kind of offense or defense that would keep her alive. Spending so much time tending to the matters of the Kawazaiwa farms her left her lack luster a lot more than she liked. "This is what I get for being a good mother." Grumbled the Special Jounin as she tested out the leg that was hit the worst and made sure she could still put weight on it. "At least it's not sprained or broken."

Sighing heavily, Sagi reached up and shifted her shoulder after having landed on it and making sure it wasn't broken. "If you're gonna let me use Ninjutsu, I think we should set boundaries first before you start throwing punches at me. Otherwise I'm gonna use my techniques and set fire to the whole training ground and you as well. My Fuuton is supplimental and big slicing attacks. My Rinton reacts with oxygen and fire. So with that in mind, before you start throwing punches and moving faster than I can track, can we figure out what we plan to get out of this spar and what the limits are?" Looking down at her hand, Sagi frowned at it before glancing to Miyuki. "If you want to spar or even fight with me, it's gonna not work out like you're thinking or planning. Close quarters combat is bullying me more than helping me. I need a foundation to work off of, try going slow and teaching me better combat tips and moves first before expecting me to deal with CQC as a mid to long range combatant."

[Fuuton • Dust Devil]
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the necessary hand seals or channeling, Sagi will extend her hand and produce a whirling disc of Fuuton. This disc is 1.5 meter in diameter and manifests with [Control] Speed as it spins into existence from her hand. Capable of defending against up to [Control] Strength, this disc of wind is capable of catching physical objects that attempt to pass through it, causing the disc to rapidly spin and launch the object back in the direction it came from with a [Control] Speed and Strength. Non-physical objects will be swept up and blown away if they have lower strength than the rapidly spinning disk. This disc lasts so long as Sagi feeds chakra into it, but this prevents her from using other jutsu while it's in use.

Miyuki waited patiently for Sagi to work through her words, meanwhile her own thoughts swirled in contradiction. When Sagi had mentioned she was out of shape, Miyuki hadn't thought that that would mean their difference in skill was so apparent given their subjective ranks. She also hadn't thought that being out of the field for so long would have dulled the older woman's reaction time so much. She had grown accustomed to the hard truth that a majority of shinobi in Kiri had basic had basic hand to hand training, and that their ninjutsu was supplemental to defending against it. It was somewhat shocking to learn that the noble woman fell well outside of that dynamic, and left the younger red head a tad confused on how to continue.

She stood up then, her eyes narrowed and searching as she tried to find a way forward. She had in fact been pulling her punches by a significant amount in order to not hurt the woman before her, it was why she went for a sweep as opposed to an actual attack that could end in injury. It was a test of basic foundation and skill, Miyuki was no where near as fast as most other shinobi of her rank, she figured that it wouldn't be difficult to track her movements. And it didn't sit right with her that this was going so poorly, or that the older woman had it in her mind that Miyuki was here to bully her. If that had been her intent, she wouldn't have held back at all. None of it made much logical sense to her.

"The difference in our skills is more exaggerated than I had originally thought. This won't work." Her voice was soft and reasonable, training with anyone of a different specialty was always difficult. But training with someone who only had their specialty and nothing else to supplement was near impossible. Which left cardio as the only applicable skill they could pursue together. But the vastness in their abilities was still too great to match any time soon. "I've yet to encounter a Kiri shinobi with no close quarters combat under their belt. The only way to go forward is with cardio it would seem, though it will be substantially off kilter for awhile if that's the route you wish to take." Miyuki's voice was thoughtful as she spoken, ending in a final decision. She would help Sagi like she had offered to do, but the more she was faced with what that realistically looked like, the more she felt like there were better options for Sagi.

Sagi could feel a throbbing in her shin from where it took that hit and bent down to rub it while Miyukiwas left flabbergasted by the display and lack of ability left in the older woman's repertoire. As Miyuki stated this wouldn't work, Sagi give a bit of an exaggerated nod at that statement. "That's what happens when you do nothing but child rearing and paperwork. I toured the farms to get myself some exercise and visited merchants about their procurements for the same reason. I'm out of shape, I still maintain my Ninjutsu to some degree because Rinton is something I have to cultivate and build upon. I can't let that slide." Shaking her head, Sagi stood upright before looking at Miyuki.

"Look, if you wanna get me started on an exercise routine and we meet up to refresh my knowledge of close quarters, we can... but you're gonna have to take it slow with me in the beginning. I'm sure the muscle memory is there but it's rusty like a ship's anchor chain. I need time to get back into the swing of things before we try the whole sparring thing, even with Ninjutsu thrown into the mix, I'm unsure I'd be able to fight you properly." Sagi stated before placing a hand on Miyuki's shoulder. "If we can't take it a little more my speed then say so, cause I'm not gonna waste your time doing this. But help or advice would be appreciated if you can give that... but we could always start by jogging or something, sprinting, something to get my muscles moving again to build them back up."

Her hands were folded behind her back as she let Sagi take the floor, listening intently as the older woman laid out what would be needed to suit her semi retired pace. Unfortunately, any advice Miyuki could have provided would have been useless in this situation. Sagi needed more of a base line to work with in order to reach her goals. And though Miyuki wanted to help, it would only be a waste of both of their time to try and push her in that direction right now.

But, there was one thing she could do to help. "I understand. We will stick to basic cardio until you find your rhythm. I wish I could be of more help, but until your foundation is solid once more, there's not much I can do. My own cardio routine is a daily occurrence. Swimming twice a week, yoga every day, dummy training three times a week, weapons training twice a week and resistance training every day. It will help you start to build a solid frame so that you can move on and continue at a higher level than you currently possess. If that's agreeable to you, then I'm happy for you to join me." Her words were matter of fact, she had tried to soften her approach but she was still confused as to how a Kiri shinobi got this far into her career without any hand to hand backing her skill set.

As Miyuki seemed to be growing disheartened by Sagi's words, the older woman heaved a sigh as she let her head hang a little bit. Hearing them speak on an exercise routine that they did themselves, Sagi made mental note of it before nodding. "I'm sorry it's not what you might have expected in terms of training, but I figured that after I humored your request you would see just how poor off I was in terms of readiness. This is what I want to do, exercise to rebuild the muscle then try to work towards learning proper fighting technique." Sagi brought her head back up, looking the other red head in the eyes as she looked a little stressed out by many things.

"I don't suppose you could explain that routine of yours more. Cause If I wanna make your routine my goal I think knowing the goal of where I should strive to reach might help me to understand how far off I am from the end of it all." As she stated this, Sagi looked the woman over and took in her build. The marks from earlier still flashed in her mind as she quirked an eyebrow while looking at their legs. "What kind of combat training do you do? What weapons do you use or style do you employee?" Sagi looked around the training ground and tried to determine how spacious it was versus possibly going elsewhere. "Maybe... maybe we could jog and talk? Something to help at least keep this training going as a means of getting the blood flowing in a positive way?"

She watched as the older redhead continued to hit the point home, while it was true that Sagi was physically weaker than Miyuki had expected, that didn't mean all hope was lost. Miyuki would just have to train her like a child more or less. Which seemed endlessly tedious, but necessary. Kirigakure didn't respect weakness, and in Sagi's position, she couldn't afford to stay that way. "A jog then, I will match your speed and incremently push you to match mine as we continue." She would wait for the older woman to start running before Miyuki would join her.

"As for my training, what I outlined was my cardio. I also train with my katana and tanto as well as use various weights to keep my body firm and able to withstand any challenge that happens upon me in my line of work." She thought more on it as they continued on the trail, their footsteps the only sound apart from wayward birds in the area. "If my routine is your goal, there is much work to do. And it will involve more than just cardio. But, most of it can be done at my home, should you wish to avoid an audience. You're welcome to join me during my training sessions and take notes or make inquiries. I am not shy." The matter of fact way that Miyuki was speaking in might have been intimidating if it weren't for the small smile gracing her face and her slowed pace making sure Sagi didn't fall behind.

Finally! Results that could actually help her! Sagi let a smile grace her features as she was happy to hear that Miyuki would agree to at least help her with that. As they commenced, Sagi set the pace and tried to do her utmost to set one that wasn't going to be too much of a burden or bore her friend. The idea of Miyuki pushing her through the jogging was an ideal suggestion and Sagi hoped she'd be able to see it all through properly. As their jog started properly and Miyuki held herself back, the Kawazaiwa woman glanced over to her time and again while paying attention to where they were going.

Their path took them away from that training ground as Sagi mulled over what she was told. "While I don't mind the cardio routine, my only real skill with a blade lies in the kitchen. I think if we start doing any hand to hand training, I would prefer that we didn't have people gawking at how terrible I am in the beginning. I know Taijutsu isn't my strongest suite, but if I could learn something along the lines of..." Sagi glanced over and saw a pair of individuals watching her intently and she furrowed her brow. She knew where they were looking, the bounce in her step made it obvious what was catching their eye. The weight of them made her wish for a binder or proper garment to prevent as much visible, eye catching motion. Playing it off as a sneeze as she brought hand over her mouth and nose, Sagi cleared her throat before glancing back to Miyuki. "Sorry, what was I... oh right, Taijutsu! I was thinking of looking into something like Kugapou. More defensive, evasive, and from what I've seen in the past the motions were a little more elegant and graceful to me. At least they were from the person who was performing the techniques of the style."

Running the familiar trail was little issue for Miyuki, she trusted her body to remember where every rock, dip and branch lay. Avoiding them with practiced ease as she followed Sagi's pace. Occasionally pushing them both to a speed of 20 and 25 before falling back down to 15. She knew the older woman was a shinobi and therefore expected her to push as needed when Miyuki would pull ahead.

It didn't take long for the two women to happen upon strangers, their leering gazes all too familiar given the luxurious shape of the two women jogging. Miyuki's eyes narrowed and she released a high pitch whistle, drawing their attention to her glowering face before seeing them scurry off in shame. 'Animals, everywhere I go bloody animals.' Returning her expression back to one of neutrality, she listened as Sagi found her place in their conversation.

Her eyes lit up as the woman explained kugapou might be a good avenue for her, a slight chuckle leaving the younger woman's lips. "As it so happens, I have extensive experience with that discipline. It's my most used pyramid of techniques while on the job. I'd be happy to have you over and to show you the ropes so to speak. I have a fuuin enchanted dummy that helps with reflexes and body conditioning. And we can avoid the common mutts of society by training at my apartment." Her last sentence had a vehemence to it that most hadn't heard coming from the dainty woman before, she spat the words out like poison.

In changing the logistics to how she approached her job recently, she discovered she had a disdain for how men treated women such as herself. The cruel expectations and entitlement they carried with them as if there couldn't be anything more to a woman than to warm a bed and silently take what she was deemed worthy to have. Perhaps she had been spending too much time with Shinji, but she couldn't bring herself to care. Despite their different approaches, he had been good for her so far, and she planned on being good for him as well.

Sagi Heard that whistle and practically jumped from the sudden sound, looking to Miyuki and blinking at her in disbelief. Her expression softened as she listened to the other woman speak of knowing the taijutsu style in particular she wished to learn. "That would be perfect! I think it would be just up my alley to learn Kugapou. It seems like it's more defensive and reactive than offensive so that should help in the event I get caught up in Close Quarters Combat as a Ninjutsu user." A smile pulled at the woman's lips as she jogged alongside her friend. The thought of training publicly was also a nightmare, especially if people like those men were lurking about.

She shuddered at the thought of someone creepily spying on her but it was a feeling she might want to bear in mind as very real. Glancing back in the direction of the men that had scuttled off to be gremlins elsewhere, she pondered if Ichase was having someone watch her. Still, she needed to play it cool. Shifting her focus back to the path, she did her best to keep pace with Miyuki. Pushing herself to speed up and keep the pace going before she felt her legs and lungs starting to burn a little. "I've been meaning to ask, since you're actively going on missions, what kind are you undertaking? Any recommendations for a Ninjutsu specialist who's getting back into the swing of things?"

Sagi could use all the help Miyuki could offer. She pondered telling her about the deal she had tried to make and what her goal was... but the reason for her motivations might be understood by Miyuki better than anyone else if she shared that. Still, it felt a little soon to be throwing this on her plate. Perhaps after they'd spent more time together and Miyuki had finished teaching her some Kugapou then she might share the grand scheme with her that was brewing.

Chuckling at Sagi's reaction, Miyuki kept pace quite easily. The speed was slower than she was used to but it was clear that the older woman required a gentler hand in training. Perhaps it was her noble blood or motherhood that had allowed such a lapse in training and an aversion to hand to hand defense. Whatever the case, she would need to catch up to speed sooner rather than later. "Kugapou is something I specialize in, it's good for defense in terms of blocking and dodging. If you're looking for a middle ground for offense and defense, that would be Toryu. However, I am not trained in that style and therefore cannot help you learn it." Though her voice was kind, she was speaking purely in facts as the conversation progressed. Sugar coating the words wouldn't help Sagi learn, in fact it might hold her back.

She watched out of the corner of her eye as the older redhead pushed herself beyond her max speed, she was doing well enough to keep up. She slowed the both down to a brisk walk as a cool down, placing a firm hand on Sagi's shoulder to grab her attention as they moved on to missions. They had been running for quite some time and she didn't want to run the risk of having to carry the Kawazaiwa home. "I work primarily in infiltration and information, going undercover for months at a time. Though, my path seems to be deviating as I find my footing." Her face turned pensive as she pondered on what types of missions would be good for her companion. It was clear anything too physical was out of the question until she built her stamina back up. Though as a noble shinobi she might have some luck within her own house, or with allies of her house, finding something more suited to her skill set. The job board by the Mizukages office always had postings, almost half of which were non hostile. "Given your physique, you might do well with a similar style of work that I was previously doing. Though it can be arduous in other ways. I have recently joined up with the Head Hunter's Division in their Inquisition unit, but I don't think that's really your speed given the proclivity for violence it brings."

Their pace slowed once more, letting their heart rates slow to a normal rhythm as Miyuki continued to think on the current predicament of the older woman. "In truth, I cannot give a recommendation on missions that would suit you because I do not know any more about your skill set. Your best bet would be to look for easy missions that have a low threat threshold until you're back to where you were previously. Perhaps something to do with your family or their allies? I know there are always delegation postings on the job board as well as simple courier tasks involving urgent communications." She brought a hand up to play with the ends of her wavy hair, her voice trailing off as if she was displeased by her lack of a clear direction. "First things first, when I return from Heart I will send you a missive to meet me at my apartment for training. I can further assess you then and give more concrete feedback. I leave in a week, until then, continue to go for runs or walks and practice your ninjutsu. Speed and stamina will help you most." Nodding her head as she came to a conclusion, she stopped in the middle of the path as it reached the edge of the forest and brought them back onto a road that led into town.
