And so we met

[Arion]

Clouds loomed overhead as Katashi carried a box in both of his arms. He was running yet another errand as he quickened his pace. It seemed like the gathering clouds were indicating that a thunderstorm was approaching. The genin didn't feel like getting drenched out in the rain and more importantly, couldn't allow the box to get wet. He didn't know what was inside and didn't mind much. All he knew was that he had to deliver it, the inside contents free of any harm.

The young boy could still see over the box but his quick pace would make it hard for him to steer. He continued down the street, passing under ragged cloak that was hanging flat from two poles. He scouted right under it and went on his way, wanting to get the delivery made before the downpour came.

[Tamer06]

Yōsei had been traversing the rooftops of Konoha when she noticed the sky begin to darken.
Storm clouds...just great, she thought, jumping down to street level. As fun as it would be to dodge lightning, I should probably stay low for now. Oh well.
With a shrug and some hand seals, Yōsei began skating along backwards, attempting to make her trip home less mundane.
If I beat those clouds home, I won't have to hear about 'Chibi Bi' catching a cold. Honestly, it wouldn't be a problem if they had had just one more kid. I mean, just because I'm petite doesn't mean I'm still a baby...
Yōsei had been paying less and less attention to where she was going as her thoughts distracted her. When she finally decided to glance behind her, Yōsei realized almost too late that she was about to crash into someone. She managed to change directions at the last second, only to end up flipping into a nearby wall.

Fuuton • Wind Suke-to [Wind Element • Wind Skating]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the needed hand seals, the user is able to "glide" on the air as if they were just skating on a rink or on ice. This allows them to move faster while traveling or fighting. However, this does not allow the user to fly, but, instead, it allows the user to sort of float over the ground.

[Arion]

"E... Eh!?" Katashi froze in place as he saw the girl skating backwards towards him. When she turned to the side, he simply sidestepped to the side and observed as she went for the wall.

"Oh?" He looked around for a spot to place his box and when he found none, simply placed it on the ground. He then rushed over to the girl.

"Are you alright?" He asked her as he tried looking around to see if she was bleeding or broke anything.

Yōsei opened her eyes as she lie on the ground, looking up at the boy.
Hmm?
She slowly turned her head and briefly registered the box on the ground before shifting her gaze back to the stranger.
I guess that was him I just dodged.
"I'm all right," Yōsei replied, her thoughts finally coherent again. "See?"
She swung her legs around and stood up, careful to avoid the stranger.
"I just haven't perfected the last minute brakes yet...Sorry about that, by the way."
Yōsei peeked around the boy to the box he had been carrying, curious about what could be inside.
"Were you in the middle of delivering that?"

Spin
D-Ranked Taijutsu
Whenever the ninja is on the ground they are able to use this jutsu to easily get up and even knock away weapons or people close to them. In order to do this the ninja swings their legs around causing them to spin around which knocks away things while also allowing themselves to get up.

[Arion]

"Glad to hear that, it looked like a nasty hit," The boy said with a grin as he looked back around him at what she was looking at. It was the box he had been carrying, the sudden look reminding him of his delivery to make. He dashed back towards it and picked it up, walking back towards the girl with the box in hand.

"Yes, I'm running an errand for someone," Before he could finish, the first few raindrops begun to fall. He stopped for a moment as he looked up and then back at Yosei. "I had been trying to avoid having the box get wet, but that isn't the case anymore... I need to take some cover, can't let the box get wet..."

[Tamer06]

"Well, in that case," Yōsei responded, looking around for a suggestion, "wait right here."
Yōsei jumped up onto a nearby building and disappeared from sight. A few seconds later, a door opened farther down the street; Yōsei was holding it open. She proceeded to wave the boy over, smiling at her success.
"It's much drier in here," she called out, "so your box should be fine."

Tobu [Jump]
C-ranked Taijutsu
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
By focussing chakra to the feet and releasing it in a burst when jumping, the ninja will add power to his/her jumps. The height of the jump can vary depending on how much chakra is used, although the actual cost doesn't get significant until the point where one leaps over 5 meters vertically. The only momentum that this technique will give is vertical: horizontal momentum is gained from the user's speed prior to the jump.
This technique is the real cornerstone of the High Style. Chakra Control is particularly important for this technique.

Bai Chouyaku [Doubled Leap]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
By channeling chakra into her feet and releasing it in a short burst in the middle of a jump, the user is able to, "jump again", increasing the range and height of their leaps. They can also use this to change direction in mid-air.

[Arion]

"Oi?" The genin watched as she disappeared from sight, leaping atop a building. He wasn't sure what to think of her just yet; either really athletic or plain crazy. She was definetely off the walls, and apparently in them too. However, when she opened the door and told him to go in, he nodded and went inside.

"Thanks," He said once he was inside, "Yeah, I can't let this box get damaged or wet... By the way, what were you doing skating backwards?" He asked, trying to make some conversation with which to pass the time since the passing storm would have them pinned for a little bit.

[Tamer06]

"What were you doing running forward?" Yōsei replied, skating backwards once more.
She circled the boy a few times before coming to a stop in front of him.
"The ordinary way of doing things isn't as fun. Don't you ever get bored?"
The room they had entered was completely empty, except for a small puddle in the back right corner. A tiny stream came in through the roof, but it wasn't close enough to get them wet.
"By the way, what's in the box?"

"Running forward? I was power walking and I was trying to make this delivery before it rained." He shook his head and sighed, the room was empty and there was no where to set his box down, no where but the floor itself.

"I don't know what's inside. I don't need to, I just deliver it, that is my job."

"Ah, fine," Yōsei replied, too bothered to keep up with the boring conversation.
If I go home now, I'll never hear the end of it, Yōsei thought. Even so...how long is this rain going to last? I'm already tired.
The floor suddenly seemed more inviting and, giving into her lassitude, Yōsei lay down.
"Be sure to let me know when the rain stops," she stated, while yawning. "Or if you ever find out what's in the box."
With that said, she rested her head on her arms and closed her eyes.

[Arion]

"Your... going to sleep?" Katashi sighed as he set his box down. With the girl's back towards him and the rain still falling, he did the only thing he could do, train. He pulled out his kodachi and begun to work on his slashes, doing some spins as he did. The empty room was good to work with since it had plenty of room. Just like she didn't mind him around to shut her eyes, he didn't mind her around to keep going.

[Tamer06]

"Not sleep," Yōsei softly mumbled. "Just...resting for a bit..."
At first, the sound of the kodachi put her senses on high alert; Yōsei soon realized it was being used for training, though, and managed to relax once more. The water trickling down from the roof, combined with the rhythm of the boy's movements, somehow created a soothing lullaby. It was proving difficult to resist sleep, but Yōsei knew she must.
I guess sleeping in front of some random villager wouldn't be the best idea. Especially since we shouldn't even be here in the first place, Yōsei thought, opening her eyes as she turned to face the genin.
"How old are you, anyway?"
Her focus was now held by the stranger, hoping he could entertain her until the rain stopped falling.

[Arion]

He didn't stop moving when she said she wasn't sleeping. The sound of the trickling water, while a bit annoying, only made it easier for the genin. He listened to it and once he got the hang of it, timed his attacks with each drop, in unison.

"Hm?" Her question didn't sway him off his path as he followed the same tune. "14, You?" He replied and asked, changing his attack patterns to thrusts now.

[Tamer06]

"You'd get into trouble if I asked you to guess, wouldn't you?" Yōsei responded playfully, smiling up at the boy. "After all, one year over and I'd have to reevaluate my wrinkles. Hmm...what's a good answer? The truth is sometimes respectable...What if I were to say 13? Is that believable?"
She slowly rose to a seated position, her legs stretched out before her.
"Then again, 15 would make me your senior and 14 would set us about even."
Yōsei transitioned her legs into a straddle split, still facing the boy.
"I suppose a 60-year-old couldn't do this, unless she were very limber."
Yōsei soon after sighed, already bored by the conversation.
Maybe another question will help...
"It turns out I'm 13 after all. Do you have any siblings?"

[Arion]

Katashi didn't even bother trying to keep up with what she was saying. He just let her go, only catching bits and pieces. He almost lost his pace and rhythm when she went for a straddle split. Had it not been for the shorts, he would have truly gone off pace. However, that wasn't the case, and when she asked if he had any siblings, he simply shook his head.

"No, I'm the only child. You have any siblings?" The way she acted, he had to guess yes, and many.

[Tamer06]

"The only child? That's such a waste...Older brothers are the best."
Yōsei switched to sitting cross-legged, having already made her point about 60-year-olds.
"I have three brothers, each of whom is really talented. They taught me to throw my first shuriken when I was little."
She took a shuriken out of the holster on her thigh and began to spin it on her index fingertip.
"They can do all sorts of techniques, though they haven't shown me anything new for a while...Who taught you to use a kodachi?"

[Arion]

Katashi was dead on with his guess. She did have siblings, three brothers at that. He listened as she explained how they were the ones who taught first taught her to handle a shuriken. That and question brought back memories. It was his father who had taught him all that he knew. Up until recently where he begun to train with Kouken, it had only been his father.

"My father," He replied as he looked down at his blade, Ookami Kiba. "You must have learned alot from them... Was it fun?" He didn't have anyone, not even any close friends.

[Tamer06]

"It was," Yōsei replied, putting the shuriken back in her holster, "until they started going on missions. They're out a lot, even when they have free time...so I don't get to see much of them."
Yōsei shrugged, as if her brothers' absence was inconsequential.
"But that's how it'll be for me one day. Teams, missions, promotions...How's your team treating you so far? Or do you just deliver boxes all day?"

Look at me, Yōsei thought proudly, keeping up a normal conversation...and without even trying too hard. I can definitely last until the rain stops. For now, I'm stuck...but there are plenty of ways in which this could have been worse. I mean, what if the box had exploded in this very room, causing the roof to cave in...and crippling me...so I'd be forced to stay here...with him...until I died of blood loss, starvation, or disease?
Yōsei cast a distrustful glance at the box, briefly considering that worst case scenario.
No way, Yōsei finally concluded. The chances of that are too small...though I guess I still shouldn't ask him to open it.

[Arion]

"I don't have a team," He replied as he sheathed his sword. "I've joined teams, but they all wind up going defunct. I've been pretty much doing missions on my own, plenty of them too. I guess I know what it's like to be constantly out on the field myself..."

I don't know what it's like to have someone back home waiting for you though...

"The box was just a small errand, not really a mission," He said as he noticed the water that had been trickling down from the ceiling was dying down. The rain was either almost over or already over. The only way to know was to check.

"You ever gone on a mission?" He asked the girl as he took a knee next to the box.

[Tamer06]

"Not yet," Yōsei replied, "but I can't wait! Maybe when I get my first team...though hopefully it won't end up like yours. You probably just have bad luck, right?"
Yōsei heard the water flow slow to a stop and quickly got up to look outside.
"It's done raining, so you should be okay delivering that box. Just try not to trip because the ground's still wet."
Should they really have given such an unfortunate person their important box to deliver?
"I guess I'll see you around. Until then, have fun training with your dad."
Yōsei offered Katashi a sincere smile and left through the front door. Once she was outside, she waved before running off through the side streets of Konoha.

[Arion]

"Bad luck... Sometimes I think so," The boy said as he watched her look outside. It had indeed stopped raining, which meant he could now finish his delivery. He picked up his box and when he turned around, saw the girl already at the door smiling at him.

"Oi? Wait!" He shouted as he waved and ran off. "Damn... I didn't even get her name." With a shrug, he took the box and left the room. Perhaps the two would meet again one day.
