The Conclave of Missing Nin

"Yes, I'd rather not lose the past few years memories. Like any good science and medical professional, losing my research would be most displeasing." Saigo answered before looking to Yaku "Frankly I don't like the idea of losing all my hardwork. I'm going to refuse the seals and if I ever catch you poking around inside my brain Renji, the organization will be short a member and I'll have a new experimental cadaver. Are we clear?"

The Doctor would probably have to develop some fuuinjutsu to keep in touch with teh other members, but he would also have to develop specialized fuuin that would allow him to hide his memories instead of erasing them. At least then he wouldn't lose his research and all the other work he'd been slaving over for months. Still, Yaku was allowing this man to do such things and it wasn't sitting well with the doctor since he'd rather refuse like he had.

"And here I thought that you were the drab one of the group. What a every convincing threat, well-played." The compliment was so convincing in its delivery that it wouldn't be uncalled for to assume that the body thief actually meant it, but as always, mischief and condescension warred for supremacy in his chilly blue gaze, perfectly accented by a pert, cordial smile.

"... of course," he began haltingly, as if the idea had only occured to him just then. "Entirely unnecessary. The threat, and your refusal, that is. If you wish for me to leave your research intact, I easily can. I have control over what is linked and what is not, and only information that is sensitive regarding Henkou would be included. I would also possess those memories, and could freely share them with someone else, in the event that you lose them in some other unfortunate fashion. The other seal can be removed at your liesure, and quite frankly, it was a bit of a bitch to figure out how to include that function, so I do hope you'll factor in that consideration before being the only member to abstain."

He drew a breath; his voice had gotten a bit shallow and hurried near the end there, and after brushing some of his ivory hair away from his face, he continued. "Besides. If you don't feel yo can trust me in this matter, then how will you trust me in a battle, or an important mission? Before you launch into the typical 'trust must be earned' routine, I feel I should point out that this would be an opportunity for me to start earning it, and a relatively harmless one at that."

With his philibuster finished, he crossed his arms and lay his gaze expectantly on Saigo, his smile just a touch harder than it had been previously.

Spade glared down this new member, he very much disliked him. Though he respected their leader, he never really agreed on who he picked for the organization. Great, another smartass? His initial reaction was to choke him, but that would be really dumb, considering the person probably did some other seal that could mindfuck him. Spade disliked this, this Renji person, and the situation. Putting his black headband back on, he looked over to Saigo, who was refusing the seals. Ignoring whatever the punk did to him, he liked the idea of making the organization short a member. A grin found his face, as this was an idea he enjoyed.

Though the seal man explained some useless information, Spade was annoyed at his trust routine. "Renji, I wouldn't trust you even if you erased my memories. Frankly, our doctor over there has the right idea. You shouldn't let your brain to strangers. Only reason I let you in is so you can see how entertaining a dead body can be. If you know what I mean." Winking at the end of the statement, Spade hoped to annoy the seal man.

Remembering a thought, he walked over to Saigo and added, "Besides, our doctor has to learn to trust me, since we'll start spending quality time together. After all, you can't force too much on him." Once next to the doctor, he threw his arm to attempt a headlock on him, trying to be as much of an ass as possible.

[Yaku Fushinkou]

"We'll stop here..." Yaku said abruptly as the tension in the room had began to build. The meeting had gone on long enough and its ending was long over due. He had learned long ago that missing nin in the same room for too long could turn disastrous.

"Finish and place the seals on Laxus." His voice was cold and unsatisfied, but on second thought, he added "We can continue this at a later date." His words did not help to stop the tension, but it did end the discussion. Yaku broke the circle. His eyes had narrowed and an irritated complex was apparent on his face. He seemed troubled by something distant from the Conclave and he was uninclined to say something. His eyes were fixated on the door.

"The Aburame had already compromised our length." Yaku explained as he pulled away from the group. The fire from the torches flickered and the wind blew heavily against the main conclave door. It was inviting everyone to leave and Yaku slowly approached the exit.

"When you're done, Renjiro... come to the library." It was the last and single order he gave before departing. It was an abrupt exit, but the animosity in the room had already been climbing and the S-rank wasn't interested.

Serene in spite of the threats levied his way and the agitation he'd provided, Renji nodded simply and proceeded to do as instructed, applying his seals to the quiet nukenin briskly and efficiently while humming a fairly lively little tune.

When he finished on Laxus and turned, he used his hands to draw up the hood of his robe before bowing subtly toward Licht and Saigo.

”Do feel free to visit me anytime, doctor, should you have a change of heart. Really, I enjoy company at any point, so just drop in whenever you like.”

With that he strode off, heading out of the meeting chamber without another word.

Distance Shintensin Seal
A-Ranked Fuuinjutsu
Prerequisite: Shintensin no Jutsu, Control 9
The user can create seals that allow for the performance of a limited version of Shintensin no Jutsu over vast distances. This technique requires that the seal be places on the user as well as any individuals intended to be targeted in such a way, providing a "bridge" for the user's consciousness to cross.

The user need only concentrate on the seal and perform Shintensin. Upon doing so, his body falls helpless while his mind races between the two seals to partially overtake that of the sealed target. The user is capable only of mental communication and piggy-backing on the target's senses. Body control does not function via this method, but all other aspects of Shintensin (including wound transmission) remain the same. The mental travel takes 1 second for every 20 miles to be crossed, and returning takes the same.

This seal is also "voluntary". In addition to being removed by normal Fuuin removal, the recipient can at any time spend one post and a standard C-Rank jutsu amount of chakra to remove the seal. It also bears noting that activating this seal requires the same amount of chakra as a standard Shintensin no Jutsu on the user's part.

Shikou Senpuku Shikuchi [Thought Hiding Method]
A-Rank Fuuinjutsu
Prerequisite: Shinsoujijin no Jutsu 
Rather specific but potent in its narrow application, this seal was developed by Renjiro in order to combat the sort of techniques he employs most frequently. Deceptively simple in execution, the seal is place on the forehead of its recipient in the form of a tattoo. Once it is complete, Renjiro will enter the target's mind via Shinsoujijin no Jutsu, linking up to one years worth of memory to the seal, going back no more than 4 years.

The seal itself prevents the use of pure mind reading techniques on the recipient, closing off access to the individual's memories. A Rank fuuin removal can dispatch the seal, but doing so activates the built in trap, deleting the memories tied to the seal.

Saigo was about to tell Renji what he could do with his trust speech when Yaku spoke up saying they'd end here for now. Saigo didn't trust anyone, he didn't make friends. He made allies of convenience. Losing his hard work was not convenient and Saigo wasn't about to let this man into his head whenever he pleased. The man had nothing to hide, but if he could get in, there was no telling what he could do. He could even tamper with the mind control seal he used on his minions, making them his own.

"You can let me go now, I need to get back to my labs." Saigo said, tapping the arm that had him in a headlock.
