The young assassin and newest member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist moved swiftly through the crowds that were beginning to disperse from the pyramid after the last of the round one matches had ended. It was his match in fact, having displayed only one Taijutsu match and one Ninjutsu match per day. The bout before his he had of course watched and as expected it had been the powerful blood user Maido that had been victorious. His mind wasn’t on her currently however, having only just met a Jinchuuriki that happened to be the student of the man he had just defeated in his fight. Their meeting had been pleasant at first until the 6-armed Kumo Jounin in question had returned and interrupted their interaction. After that there wasn’t much reason to stick around. For whatever reason Shinji tended to clash with men, especially other skilled fighters. Perhaps it was a dominance thing, but he always got along better with more frail and timid boys as well as young innocent girls and even on occasion playful women as he had found out at the beach celebration a few months back.

He was a little annoyed at having to part with Yasu so quickly. Pulling his hood back and pulling down his mask he decided he would try to find something to enjoy rather than his usual method of blowing off steam which often resulted in a great deal of death and carnage. Such a thing wasn’t an option in a place like this. Stopping at the closest snack stand he purchased a moderate sized bag of some kind of red colored rock candy, surely there wasn’t blood in this too like everything else in their culture seemed to revolve around, right? Either way, they were still sweet, candy was a rare treat for the teenage Karagata who had spent his entire life training fervently with very little time allotted to enjoying little things like this in life. He had made it a habit to take advantage of any festival or other opportunities to indulge in junk food or try something new. Feeling slightly less on edge now he meandered through the thinning crowds, it seemed some people were lingering and talking about the matches or bets lost or won and even speculation for the round 2 matches. A few people recognized him though he spoke only curtly to them and continued on. He was used to being a celebrity but that didn’t mean he felt any obligation to make idle conversation with random people.

After several minutes he came across someone that he recognized. A large chested woman with dog-like ears and a tail. He had just watched her match before his own had began after all. Evidently, she was also a Jinchuuriki. Vorashu seemed displeased at this interaction before it had even begun, his thoughts on Aturasu were more favorable than Konegu, the former driven to protect the land as much as its residents. That part Vorashu could relate to but protecting humanity, or even those of a single shinobi village left a sour taste in his mouth. He despised humans as a whole but especially shinobi save for a very select few who retained their primal instincts and drive to live in harmony with nature rather than destroy it for their own corrupt purposes. Still, he held no strong desire to speak with the fellow Genma, not unless the other would reach out to him first though he was intrigued by this host. Shinji on the other hand had no such reluctance, approaching in a seemingly casual manner despite his naturally soft steps he would address the woman before him. “Candy?” he offered, holding the bag out for her to try some. She seemed rather upset about her loss, tail tucked between her legs and ears slouching. “For what it’s worth I wouldn’t have been able to beat her either. She took control of my body once, I was completely powerless to do anything” he admitted, while he knew intimately what it felt like to be outmatched he had never experienced anything quite like feeling his own blood turned against him.

For the first time in what seemed to be a very long time, Masami felt utterly defeated, humiliated and weak. She remembered now that she had entered the tournament to prove to herself and others just how far she had come but.. despite her best attempts she had been completely overwhelmed in what seemed to be just an instant. If the rules had allowed such, she would surely be dead right now and honestly, it was that fact that upset her more than the loss itself, that she had even been put in such a position so very easily.

She had walked along for a while contemplating her loss when suddenly she had spotted a small stream off to the side of the town, taking a seat on the bank and watching the fish swim past. Seeing the fish swim by without a care helped to make her feel just a bit better, though her ears were still drooping and her tail was very firmly tucked between her legs. She could sense Aturasu poking at the back of her mind, desperately trying to get her attention, but she ignored him, it becoming clear what he was trying to tell her as her ears twitched and she heard the sound of footsteps, a boy seeming to be approaching her. She recognized this boy, he being the other Jinchuuriki that had been participating in the tournament, in the Taijutsu section.

She was honestly a bit wary, until he offered his candy and spoke, seeming to be trying to console her at which point she gave him a small smile, reaching into the bag and pulling out a bit of rock candy. "Thanks. I had never thought I would be so thoroughly outmatched, especially in the first round. I guess I should consider myself lucky that she never managed to control me. So, you're Karagata Shinjiro, right? A Jinchuuriki, just like me."

Meanwhile Aturasu sighed but otherwise chose not to speak up for the time being. He honestly held no real contempt for Vorashu as they shared similar ideals but that didn't mean they got along. No, he simply felt indifferent towards his fellow guardian of nature and so felt no desire to engage in any sort of conversation.

For whatever reason Shinji felt rather comfortable around Masami, her animal traits reminded him of the other Kiri Jinchurriki, Nishiki. He had even met Taiga, the other Konoha Jinchurriki with the interesting phasing ability and constant bellowing of smoke. That had been a few years ago now but he had been kind to Shinji and had even helped him learn how to better control Vorashu, the least he could do was show that same kindness to Masami. He was a little surprised when she accepted the candy, most Kiri nin would probably not accept any food from a stranger but he had found Konoha shinobi and even those from Kumo tended to be more relaxed. Still, he smiled slightly, his green eyes calm and neutral. His face was rather youthful, brown hair of a short to medium length.

Reaching into the bag himself he would toss a handful into his mouth, enjoying the crunching sensation and the sweet flavor. Swallowing, he would nod in affirmation as she identified him before commenting on her previous statement. "Just bad luck. That blood witch is probably the strongest shinobi in Kirigakure, certainly the most terrifying though the Mizukage is a close second. That will be a match I wont miss" he exclaimed with some sense of excitement as his eyes lit up with a competetive gleam. He could only imagine what it would be like to have such mastery of the elements, such power and control. As a Taijutsu specialist he was among the top 10 in his village without a doubt but there would always be linitations and difficulties when combating someone like Maido or the Mizukage and it seemed unlikely that he would ever be able to surpass those two.

Sitting down a few feet away from Masami the young assassin would sit cross legged. The tip of the sheathed swords across his back just lightly touching the ground. He looked the woman over, noting that she was rather attractive and likely a little older than himself. "Your abilities are interesting. You used a technique to create snow like the Aisu clan in Kiri and also some kind of heat wave right?" He was genuinely curious about the sort of powers that other Genma granted. 'Within her resides Aturasu, master of the fusion elements; Warden and protector of the lands of Fire Country.' he informed cautiously. In a way he viewed Aturasu as a subordinate, guarding over but a piece of his natural world and creations though they had disagreed in the distant past over one key aspect and that was Aturasu's inclusion of humans being worthy of protection. Though they has evolved from animals humanity was Vorashu's greatest regret and he refused to accept them as his doing. Only those who remained true to their roots were worthy. 'This host, she intrigues me. She does not abandon her primal nature, not entirely.' He observed, clearly referring to the animal traits that had become a part of her. Shinjiro was used to the Tsukino clan of Kirigakure woth their fox infused bodies but he supposed it was interesting to see someone from another village with similar features. "I like your ears and tail" he said abruptly, giving an almost sweet and somewhat awkward attempt at a smile. He wasn't used to giving any sort of compliment, typically preferring to tease and taunt others.

Masami herself was surprised at how friendly Shinjiro was being, having expected Kiri nin to be hard headed and cold blooded, but really she didn't mind at all. In her current bout of self loathing she really appreciated the company, especially from someone who seemed to have some sympathy for what she had just gone through. That aside, she felt strangely at ease around the boy, perhaps due to their shared status as Jinchuuriki or perhaps due to the way he smelled of the natural world or perhaps there was no real reason, she wasn't sure.

"Oh, thank you. You don't really seem too surprised to see them though." she said in response to Shinji's compliment of her ears and tail, doing her best to avoid giggling at his awkward attempts at a smile. He didn't seem to be too used to this kind of thing and honestly it was kind of cute. She really was surprised though, to see someone act so casually when it came to her extra appendages. "And as for your earlier question, I did use ice and heat in my bout. I have the capability of using every fusion release, though I'm still learning how to effectively utilize my power. Though, if you don't mind me asking, what are your own abilities?" she spoke, having missed the chance to potentially witness Shinji's own abilities as she hadn't been in any mood to be watching any other fights after her own spectacular loss.

I will let the boy explain if he so desires but be aware that you're speaking to the host of Vorashu, a beast who much like myself is a guardian of nature, though he very much despises humanity so be careful. Aturasu suddenly spoke to her.

I got it. No need to be a worrywart. I know how to watch out for my own safety.

Very well then, in that case I have nothing further to say on the matter but I will be closely watching and listening.

Shinjiro shrugged, “In Kiri there’s a large family called the Tsukino that merge with foxes around the time of entering the academy I believe" he wasn’t actually sure of the specifics of their rituals but he knew that every Tsukino he had encountered had fox ears and tails, even those that didn’t actively serve as shinobi, though he speculated that they surely at least graduated the academy, most families of any reputation prided their service as shinobi. The two most prominent Tsukino he knew personally, his fellow Kiri Jinchuuriki and another that served as one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist alongside him but he felt Masami didn’t need to know quite that much information. He watched her curiously as she spoke of her abilities, ‘Fusion releases, interesting. I guess that includes steam too' he considered, thinking of the leader of the Seven Swordsmen. It was a deadly style that was difficult for a Taijutsu specialist like himself to contend with. He wasn’t even sure what other fusion elements there were but it sounded like she had access to quite a large variety of normally heavily coveted styles. “You must be an incredible asset to Konoha, you’re probably even more famous and respected than me!” he realized, a glimmer of enthusiasm entering his voice as his light green eyes seemed to glow with envy. Just to have the opportunity to train against and learn the strengths and weaknesses of the fusion releases of each shinobi village, it was well beyond the kind of contribution he or Nishiki could make to Kiri. They had only raw strength to strive for.

He looked visibly surprised when she asked about his abilities. “Guess you didn’t stick around to watch my fight. Or was it just too fast for you to notice?” he wondered, smirking confidently. His match had lasted less only about 15 seconds after all and to most his movements wouldn’t have even been visible. It would have simply appeared that he repelled a barrage of shuriken and his opponent shifted stances and spun his weapons around him for a moment or two and suddenly Shinji was behind him, blades locked together for a moment, then a sudden separation and then again Shinji would be in front of his opponent with the Kumo Jounin collapsed in a pool of blood. There would be a brief glow of green chakra at his tailbone before a long monkey tail sprouted, weaving out of his jacket, brown and furry as it moved around in front of him. “I can transform into animals, either parts or my entire body” he stated casually. ‘You’ve only begun to understand my power welp, there is so much more that I am capable of if you would only open your eyes to the depth of my abilities’ Vorashu spoke within his mind. It was true that Shinjiro had for years prioritized his own strength independent of the Genma, only slowly and cautiously accessing further forms and still not utilizing even what he had unlocked to the fullest.

Flowing chakra into his tailbone the area will glow green before sprouting a 2-meter-long prehensile monkey tail. The tail is able to be controlled as well as one of his own limbs, serving a variety of purposes and combat applications. The tail, being an extension of his body retains the same strength and speed as the rest of Shinji’s body.

"Hehe... I wasn't in any mood to watch the other fights after my own." Masami sheepishly admitted, a red tinge crossing her cheeks. It was strangely embarrassing to admit such a thing, and that was just adding to the embarrassment she felt from Shinji praising her abilities. She had the feeling that he was most definitely very strong himself, though just how strong she couldn't really be sure. Some part of her wanted to find out but this really wasn't the time for that.

More important for now was that he seemed willing to give a demonstration of his Genma granted abilities, the woman letting out a gasp as following a light green glow there was suddenly a monkey tail sticking out of his tailbone. "Woah, that's so cool and you're so lucky. I wish that I could do that. There sounds like nothing better to me than going out into the forest and spending a day in with the forest creatures as one of their own kind." she said, her eyes sparkling as she imagined all the possibilities that could come from such an ability. She was a nature lover through and through, and this kind of thing brought a great deal of excitement to her.

"So what are some things you've learned to turn into? And... say, can you transform others as well?" with this newest revelation she was like a child in a candy store and she really wanted to know all that she could.
