Name: Ooi nigenteki raikou dageki [Dual shrouded lightning strike]
Rank: A-rank
Prerequisites: Kage Bunshin technique, minimum speed stat of 8,minimum Taijutsu stat of 8, mastery of at least 4 other Hekireki style techniques.
Description: This technique is said to be one of the Hekireki style’s most lethal and powerful techniques, only those who are highly experienced in the style itself are capable of performing it. successfully. The user will first create a kage bunshin while charging forward towards their target, allowing them to hide behind his or her own clone. The user will then have his or her kage bunshin lunge forward and attempt to slash or stab at the target. This attack is simply a distraction, as the kage bunshin sent ahead will immediately stab itself after the initial strike. This will limit surround the target in a cloud of white smoke, created after the kage bunshin is destroyed. This is when the user will make his or her move, only a split second after the initial attack. He or she will then lunge forward through the white smoke, aiming for the target’s torso or midsection area. If timed and executed correctly, this technique is incredibly lethal and has a very small chance of being dodged.
Tousha was getting tired in two ways. First off, his body was beginning to ache again due to the hours of training he had put himself through. He was also tired of learning low ranked techniques. Sure, they had their uses, but he knew better than anyone that a truly powerful high ranked technique could easily tilt the favor in any direction. And Tousha enjoyed tilting anything into his favor at any time.
Not only did he enjoy learning high ranked techniques, Tousha knew that he was ready to take his training in the Hekireki style to the next level. He had also discovered another section in the ancient book while flipping through it while he took another short break. This section had a very intimidating warning scribed onto the first page.
It included that these pages were not meant for the eyes of novice swordsmen, and that the techniques found throughout the section could be fatal if performed incorrectly. After taking a few moments to consider his options Tousha flipped the page, feeling confident that he was not a novice swordsman. After all, he had managed to learn several of the Hekireki style’s techniques simply by following a few pieces of artwork. He hadn’t even been given the luxury of a master of the stance to be taught by.
The first technique he found had his attention at “impossible to perform unless accompanied by a comrade.” The picture depicted two men charging forward, one of them hidden by the first. The first man would lunge forward with his weapon, either land a hit or be blocked, and would then politely move aside. That was when the second man would strike. Tousha realized that the first attack was merely a distraction used to leave the opponent exposed, the second strike was the primary attack. With the target left vulnerable after the first attack the second man would then slash with his weapon, attempting to land a blow.
Gears began churning in Tousha’s mind, accompanied by a sly grin and twinkling eyes. He had stumbled upon something truly great, and he intended to make it even more so. His “comrade” (or so to speak) would be replaced by a kage bunshin, which he could send forward and hide behind. The kage bunshin would strike and then destroy itself in the process, which would do two things. It could allow the clone to land a blow and it would shroud the target in the white smoke created after it was destroyed. The perfect distraction.
After the clone disappeared Tousha would strike through the haze, hopefully impaling the target before he even knew what hit him. A fine plan, and an even more fine jutsu. Tousha closed the book knowing that he had all the information he needed. Maybe it wasn’t the exact way of performing the jutsu, but Tousha wasn’t exactly a samurai.
”Hello, old friend.” Tousha said cheerfully, smacking the sparring dummy in the shoulder. Its head was still lying on the ground near the tall oak tree it was standing near. The Hokage wondered if that would be a problem but then realized that the point of this new technique wasn’t decapitation. So shorty would do just fine.
First and foremost Tousha needed to think of how he was going to pull this off. The timing of when he would create the clone, how he would create it while still holding his weapon, how much time he should wait between attacks, etc. All questions that caused Tousha’s eyebrows to furrow because none of them had simple answers. It also made him realize that there were so many ways he could screw up. If he created the kage bunshin too soon he wouldn’t be able to hide behind it effectively, if he attacked the target too soon the clone wouldn’t have enough time to destroy itself, and most importantly, where would each strike be aimed?
It took the good part of a half hour to get all of these questions figured out. First he would body flicker forward, creating the kage bunshin while still in mid run which would give himself enough time to hide behind the kage bunshin. This would make the target believe that he had simply body flickered forward in the attempt to get closer to him.
After doing this he would make his clone lunge forward and then stab itself, regardless of the outcome. Tousha would need to experiment a little to figure out just how long it took a clone to disperse into a cloud of white smoke, but he’d cross that bridge once he got there. Then, after the white haze clouded the target’s view, Tousha would lunge forward himself with lightning speed and hopefully run the target through with his katana.
Now he was ready for the first attempt. He had a game plan, a target, and a sword, what else could he ask for? A chocolate sundae would be nice, but this was no time for dessert. Taking a few deep breaths, Tousha mentally prepared himself for the task at hand. Then, without warning, he kicked off of the ground and disappeared from sight.
It was always hard to describe the feeling one experiences while body flickering. If Tousha had ever been given the opportunity to watch the into to
Star Trek , he would say it was a lot like that. Body flickering was, in essence, running really really really fast in a short time through a short distance. Tousha was very familiar with this technique and even used it often. He, however, had never attempted to perform another jutsu simultaneously. The Hokage would soon learn that this was a case where it was easier said than done.
He completed the single hand seal needed for the kage bunshin technique, but the truly ticky part was maintaining not your speed, but the clone’s while running. To his dismay the bunshin appeared behind him on the ground standing perfectly still. This was a problem because he was supposed to be hiding behind it, and he was clearly in front of it. The frustrated kage came to a skidding stop far short of his target, released his jutsu, and went back to his starting place.
Three attempts later Tousha began to grasp the concept of creating a kage bunshin whilst body flickering. It was a very complicated procedure, considering if you screwed it up you could very well end up smacking into yourself at like a gazillion miles an hour. The key was throwing the chakra needed to form the clone forward ahead of yourself just before the bunshin was created. This would cause the bunshin to move at the same rate as himself, After understanding and being able to pull this off, hiding behind the clone was a simple matter and one that Tousha succeeded on his first attempt.
So next came the initial strike, the key to distracting the target from Tousha’s actual attack. Without hesitation Tousha burst forward once more, created a kage bunshin, and then completely hid behind it. The kage bunshin struck the wooden dummy by lunging forward and impaling it through the left shoulder. At the same time the clone stabbed itself in the gut with the jitte wedged between its belt. Sure enough, a split second after the clone’s attack, the dummy became shrouded in a veil of white smoke.
All of this would take place in less than half a second, giving tousha plenty of time to make his move. With another burst of speed Tousha sprinted forward, sunk low to the ground, and stabbed directly through the cloud of white smoke. He felt the katana’s blade tear through the dummy and smiled with satisfaction.
He had managed to pull off the technique from start to finish in less than two seconds. He nearly giggled at the idea of trying to avoid such an attack, or better yet, the idea of trying to see through it. He remembered his father’s voice loud and clear in his ears. “Deception is a shinobi’s most loyal ally.” He began to wonder if his father had ever been wrong. So far, as much as Tousha could remember, he had not been.
Just to be sure Tousha completed the same process two more times, each time he tried he seemed to succeed with more and more ease. The technique itself was quite simple to master once you figured out how to work out all the kinks. After fourty five minutes Tousha sheathed his sword, satisfied with his progress.
