Soku just stared at Baako for a few moments while she ate, she wasn't kidding when she said she liked to eat steak. But then he noticed as her eyes and canine teeth became cat-like and said, "Baako, you need to learn how to control yourself." His tone wasn't condescending or patronizing, it sounded more concerned than anything.
"One day you're going to get out of control and get yourself hurt, or hurt someone else." Soku said before digging in to his own meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, which made him realize why Baako was starting to get excited. He knew that her bloodline trait changed her appearance but he never would have guessed that it brought out her more animalistic instincts. Before he could stop himself he imagined Baako chasing after a rat or playing with a roll of yarn like any house cat would.
"Speaking of the forge..." Soku said after a few moments of enjoying his meal, "I'm thinking about setting some money aside to build my own. Here, in Kumo."

Baako's ears perked when Soku told her to control herself. She droped her utinsles and looked at him. Her pupils going back to the normal state but her fangs still showed. "I am sorry Soku-kun. I just get so excited, I don't notice these things." She than looked down at her steak and hash browns, sighing she picked up her fork and started eating the gravy soaked potatoes. She fought her instincts about ravishing the piece of steak. Which is harder than she thought.
But than her right ear twitched when Soku told her his plan. "Wow, really Soku? How much do you think you need to save for that?" She asked as she placed a large bite of potatoes in her mouth.

Soku stirred his mashed potatoes absent mindedly with a spoon as he made a few calculations in his head. "I figure I'll have to pay for the building itself, a few basic tools to get me started, and of course the metal I'll need for forging. So... a small fortune." he said dejectedly, knowing that it would take him years to save up enough money for something like that. Hell, it would take him years just to save up for the building.
"I'm just tired of living in Tenshu's shadow." he admitted honestly, spooning in some mashed potatoes into his mouth. Wow, this food was way better than he had expected. "The old man always gives me credit for my work but my clients just look at me as a master's apprentice. And that's all I'll be if I don't start my own business."
He took a few moments to cut up the remained of his steak and then said, "I'm sorry Baako, I'm being selfish. I haven't even asked you a single question about your hopes for the future. What are your dreams?" he asked, his expression genuinely interested.

Baako stayed quiet, eating her hash browns. When he asked about her future, she paused from eating and looked at him seriously. "I am going to work my hardest to be a special jounin." She than smiled and continued eating. She really hasn't thought of her future. But she knew that she wanted to be with Soku. But she is not sure if that is something that Soku wanted. She couldn't tell him that she wanted to be in his life like that. Since he has a really big dream. She didn't want to be in his way of it. Baako smiled and finished up her hash browns and started to cut up her steak, her pupils going in and out of the cat look. Since she is trying to control her inner kitty when it comes to the food.

Soku nodded at Baako's comment as he continued eating, occasionally taking a sip of beer to wash down the mashed potatoes and steak. "That's great, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the Raikage notices your talents." Soku replied with an optimistic tone and a crooked grin. "I'd love to help you train sometime, you know. Just you and me."
Now that he thought of it, Soku had never really witnessed Baako's talents as a shinobi. He knew that she was a taijutsu specialist like himself but he had always wondered how the kunoichi's bloodline trait played its part in combat. Suddenly a few questions came to mind. Could she still perform jutsu in her snow leopard form? Did she have any techniques to incorporate her staff? In the span of a few moments the idea of sparring Baako became a very appealing thought to Soku. He was a man that enjoyed discovering new taijutsu techniques and testing his own skills against them, just to compare his own strengths and weaknesses.
Being the socially ignorant person that he is, Soku asked this next question without even thinking about their new relationship. "So what so you think about having kids?" He continued eating nonchalantly after he asked this question, not realizing how personal it could be.

"So what so you think about having kids?"
Baako started to choke on a peice of steak once she heard those words. She than grabbed her bottle of water and forced the meat down her throat. After a few moments of coughing and gasping for air. Baako looked at Soku seriously. What the hell?! Why is he asking me that?! Is it a test? Does he want kids? Oh my god! he wants kids and he wants to know if were on the same page! Baako gave him a forced smile as she thought of an answer. She didn't think of really having kids. In order for her to even think of kids she would be in a serious relationship. A relationship such as marriage. Baako's eyes than widen, He wants to marry me!?! Thats why he wants to talk with my father! And why he wants to get his on forge!! To raise a brewed of his own! With me!
Baako than stood up fast and shouted "Yes Soku-kun I WILL MARRY YOU!!" everyone else in the restaurant started cheer and there waitress smiled widely.

"WHAT?!" Soku yelled over the applause in shock, his face a mix of horror and confusion. Then the full impact of his question hit him. Of course she was going to react this way, she thought he meant if she wanted to have HIS kids.
"Oh my god, what have I done?" Soku asked himself as he placed his face into his hands. He could feel how hot his face was with his fingers, he could only imagine how flushed it was. If he had ever wanted to take back ten seconds of his life more, this was it. Why didn't he catch these kinds of things the first time around?
Before things could get any more out of hand Soku got out of his seat, laid a few bills on the table, grabbed Baako by the hand, and then pulled her out of the restaurant.
Once they were outside Soku ran his fingers through his hair and cursed himself. "I'm so sorry, Baako. I wasn't even thinking about what I was saying... I don't even have anything to offer you... you'd really just marry me? Even if your father thinks it isn't what's best?" Soku kept stammering on. He felt lightheaded, he needed to sit down.

"Soku-kun your hurting me!" Baako exclaimed as she was dragged out of the restaurant. She looked confused and worry. Once they were outside she pulled her arm free and stood there dumb founded. Once hearing that Soku wasn't even going to plan on marrying her, her cat like ears lowered and she started to cry.
"I thought we already had this conversation about my father. And you were going to try. Soku-kun why can't you understand that I love you. I love you! Who cares about money and other random things that I can't think of at the moment. If you love someone than go for it. But I see that I wasn't even on your mind for the future." Baako eyes went cat like as she looked at him. She was hurt, confused, and felt alone. "I see where I stand with you Soku-kun. "
With that Baako turned around and started to run, in mid sprint she turned into her snow leopard form and slowly disappeared.

Now Soku felt hurt. What did she mean "not in his future?" That's all he could think about for the past few days and she didn't believe that he loved her? Baako's words cut deeper than any knife could, cut into places Soku didn't even realize he had. He felt them now though, and he didn't like it one bit.
But most of all he was just shocked that a single person with a few words could make him feel this terrible. When had that ever happened? Even during his youth his parents's scoldings had never hurt him this deeply. He was almost angry at the idea of it, being hurt by words alone. Before he had began to open himself up something like this wouldn't have even phased him. It seemed like there would be downsides and upsides to becoming less introverted.
"Wait!" Soku shouted as he watched Baako run away. He simply stood there by the entrance of the steakhouse, wondering if he should chase after her. As Baako's image began to fade away Soku felt suddenly afraid and alone as well. He felt the icy cool sensation of indifference spread across his body, his mind's natural reaction to being alone.
"No. Not again." Soku told himself, willing that feeling of indifference and loneness away. In its place a swelling desire to be by Baako's side manifested.
In a flash Soku took off running like he had never ran before. He felt stronger than he ever had in his life, and his cause was more crystal clear than ever. In a matter of moments he caught the flicker of light against Baako's fur, then disappeared in a burst of speed only to appear about fifteen feet ahead of the snow leopard.
"I'm not going to go back to what I was before I met you, Baako!" he shouted, his face and body twisted by the pain of feeling so alone and rejected. "I won't turn into that sad, pathetic man again! I need you!" He didn't care if anyone else heard, he didn't care if the whole world heard him shouting. He only cared if Baako heard him. He hoped his words could somehow make the situation right.

Baako's ears burned as she heard Soku's voice. But she was so angry. she stopped and turned around. Her eyes glaring at him, a low growl rumbled in her throat. She didn't know what to believe. Was she so dumb and blind by love. Did she make a mistake by giving herself to him. But than all stopped when he shouted he needed her. Her muscles stopped tensing, her growl disappeared. She just stood there staring at him as he came running up. Does he really need her. Or is this another scam.
She than looked down at her paws. She was confused, one moment he talks about kids and than another moment he doesn't want to marry her. She looked back up at him, she gave out a low mew as if to say "Why?"

Soku felt slightly relieved when Baako stopped running, but the way she was looking at him suddenly made that same anxiety return. And the fact that she hadn't turned back into a human wasn't a good sign either. She was telling him that she wasn't convinced yet, she needed more.
The special jounin wrestled with his mind to find the right words to fit the emotions he was experiencing. "I'm sorry for saying what I did." he finally spat out, his expression a plethora of emotions ranging from anger to sorrow to longing. If his emotions were an airplane, his was losing control and falling out of the sky faster than he could catch back up. "But don't you dare say that I don't imagine you in my future, Baako." he said defensively. That was probably what hurt him the most, how could Baako think that he didn't want to be in her future after all they had been through. After how much he'd changed over the years they had known each other, just from being around her.
Then he turned and looked into Baako's feline eyes, his own eyes softened at the sight of them. "I don't even know what I'd do without you now, and I'm tired of being abandoned by everyone I care about." He took a few steps towards Baako as he continued speaking, "Baako, I went from being someone who shut everyone out to someone who isn't afraid to scream and shout what they are feeling in the middle of an entire village full of people. You're the one who made me like this, so I don't want to hear you say that I don't care about you or you don't care about me."
After he got only a few strides from the leopard the special jounin stopped walking and simply stood before the kunoichi. "I would love to marry you now, Baako. But I'm not going to ask you to make that kind of commitment until I can give you everything you deserve. And you deserve so much more than a blacksmith's apprentice who can't even provide for himself, let alone anyone else."

Baako's feline eyes started to tear. She lowered her ears and looked up at him. How could she be so blind by this. Her own angry and confusion blocked everything that she knew. Baako felt that her heart swelled and stomach ached. She now realized that she is one of the most luckiest girls in the world. Its not everyday that the man that you love confesses his love for you where everyone can see and hear. Baako than charged at Soku, pouncing on him. In mid air turned back into her human form. She embraced him tightly and kissed him. "Thank you" she whispered, still tearing.
Everyone stopped as they saw this terrific phenomenon. The people all aw'd at the site of Baako and Soku. But when the people went back to doing what they were doing. A man and his younger daughter just stood there. The man was her father and the younger daughter her sister Nana. Nana was cheering and clapping which caught Baakos attention. Baakos ears lowered as she saw her father. The older man was glaring, his arms tight around some bags of groceries. Shaking his head he nudged Nana. "Time to go home" He spoke in disappointment. Nana sensing that her father was upset, lowered her ears as well and followed her father. Baako than looked at Soku and back at her family. Her heart was torn once more. Soku's heart skipped a beat as Baako leaped through the air at him. Though his body sensed the oncoming danger Soku's mind refused to let it move, whatever Baako had in store for him was what he deserved. His eyes widened in shock as Baako returned to her human form and wrapped her arms around him in a sort of flying hug. Soku hugged the blonde haired woman back and braced his body for the impact so they both wouldn't fall to the ground.
He kissed her back for a moment, then looked up and saw that everyone around them was staring at them. Two years ago Soku would have blushed and tried to make it look like they had just ran in to each other, but the Soku everyone knew back then was gone. Instead he was replaced by a man who looked into those big, sapphire eyes and whispered, "Please don't run away from me like that again."
But then he felt something change in Baako, something was wrong. He followed her gaze and felt his stomach drop when he spotted her father glaring at them while her little sister, Nana, cheered. Soku would have found the young child's enthusiasm hilarious if he didn't realize how busted they both were. He also felt a wave of guilt wash over him because now her father was disappointed in her for something that wasn't even her fault.
As the man walked away Soku squeezed the kunoichi in his arms a little closer to him and flashed a glare of his own at him. Their eyes met for a moment and words weren't needed to describe what either was thinking.
The large cat man's face silently said "You can't have her." while Soku's expression threatened "Just try to take her from me."
After Baako's family left, Soku placed his chin on Baako's blonde topped head and sighed deeply. "I wonder if he saw us?" he said quietly, causing him to chuckle involuntarily. Then he got very quiet, just enjoying the feeling of Baako's companionship for a few moments. His voice seemed strained as he said, "I'm sorry... if I had just told him about us from the beginning you wouldn't be in this situation."

Baako just giggled, she knew that her father was going to find out. If it was by going into her room and seeing her panties on the ceiling fan, or someone from the restaurant telling him that his beloved daughter is going to get married. Either way they were screwed. Instead of crying, and worrying Baako just shrugged and kissed her beloved once more.
"Soku-kun, no worries now lets go celebrate." She smiled once more and kissed him. She than had a nutty idea. She leaned close to Soku's ear "You know we can always do it.... again" She than slowly pulled away smiling at him even wider. She didn't care that her father knew. In a way she was relieved, she knew that once she gets home she would have to talk with her father. But him already knowing made the thought easier. So what if he is disappointed now. In time her father would feel alot better about the situation.

Soku's grin stretched even further than Baako's at the mention of celebrating their... what were they celebrating? Oh well, it didn't matter. What did matter was Baako was happy again, despite knowing that her father was disappointed in her. It somehow made Soku feel a swell of pride when he realized she cared more about him than what her father thought of her loving him.
Maybe this was the real thing after all.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but let's save that for later." He said smoothly, running his fingers across the kunoichi's bangs and slipping them behind her ear to get a better look at her face. "I don't want you to think that's all I care about. Right now I'm just pretty thrilled that you aren't clawing my face off because of what I said in the restaurant. I feel like I got off a little too easily, if you still want to take a swing at me I wouldn't stop you."

Baako shook her head slightly, to cause her bangs to fly back from her ears. She loves her bangs in her face. She than smiled and kissed Soku on the cheek. "Ok than I will take you up on that offer later." She than stepped back and took Soku's hand in hers. "So what are you going to tell Tenshu?" She said curiously, since her father and sister already knew she wondered if he was going to share this with Tenshu. The thought of Soku even saying something to Tenshu made Baako laugh inside. Since her beloved took so long to even say his feelings for her, she couldn't imagine the situation with Tenshu. But still he was Soku's family and had a right to know.
"Well Soku?" Baako asked once more, tugging on his hand.

Soku laughed nervously at Baako's question, unable to hide the fact that he still had no clue how he was going to tell Tenshu about Baako. Though he had a feeling the old bannin already knew, considering he had seen Baako on his lap at the forge a few nights ago. But then he realized that he still hadn't told Baako that little tid bit yet.
"I didn't tell you this earlier because it probably would have embarrassed you, but Tenshu kind of saw us making out at the forge the night you returned." Soku said with a crooked grin, his tone apologetic. "But I'm still going to have to tell Rai."
The special jounin groaned and slapped his free hand to his forehead. "I'm never going to hear the end of it, and neither are you." he said as he nudged Baako with his elbow. "Just a heads up."

Baako's eyes widen as he told her that Tenshu saw them making out. Why that old dirty pervert! She thought her cheeks burning from embarrassment. She couldn't take it she hates being spied on. And than the thought of Tenshu always talking about it made her even more angry. "GAH!" she shouted out of frustration. She than pulled away from Soku's arms and started to march towards the forge. Grumbling all the things she wants to say to Tenshu.
"Spying pervert, he should know better.." She managed to grumble a tad louder than the rest of her words. She couldn't believe someone would invade like that and than talk about it. It was cruel and unethical.
She finally came to the entrance of the forge glaring at it. She could hear the smith hammering away on the metal inside. Without thinking of a plan or how this situation can back fire she rushed in.
"Tenshu! you spying old geezer!" she bluntly shouted. Her eyes cat like, fangs showing, and nails slightly longer than the rest. she placed her goggles on to avoid her eyes to get shards of metal in them as she noticed the sparks flying. This could be a really bad idea but it was too late. She stood there a moment with her arms on her hips glaring at him.

"Baako, wait!" Soku said as he followed the kunoichi who was hellbent on giving Tenshu a piece of her mind. If a fight broke out between them he wouldn't even know who to help. Sure, Tenshu was one of Kumo's strongest shinobi, but the wrath of a disgruntled cat woman probably made up for the skill and experience gaps between them.
He would have tried to stop her physically before she even made it to the forge but he knew that this argument was inevitable. Even if by some miracle he were to stop Baako, she would have just stormed in the next day. Baako's anger was sort of like a forest fire, it was just best to let it burn itself out.
As Baako crashed through the forge's entrance and shouted at his foster father, Soku emerged through the door and stood beside the kunoichi. The old shinobi shut off all of the equipment he was using and removed the pitch black pair of welding goggles from his face before turning to his two guests and flashing a welcoming smile that caused dozens of small wrinkles to appear on his face.
"Good evening, Baako. You look absolutely breathtaking today." he said casually as he removed the large pair of leather gloves from his hands and forearms. "What can I do you kids for?"
Soku sighed to himself, knowing that Tenshu's reaction wasn't going to improve Baako's already deplorable mood. "Maybe I should have just taken Baako up on her offer..."

"Good evening, Baako. You look absolutely breathtaking today."
Baako stopped in mid curse as she heard that. Her ears twitched, What the hell? She than stood there confused, as if she forgot what she was going to say. Than seeing Tenshu smile she lost all train of thought. What was I going to say? She couldn't remember, she just stared at Tenshu still holding her angry face as she figured out why she come over in the first place.
"AH HA!" She said as she remembered. "Your charms aren't working this time old man! Your a Peeper!!!" She than pointed an accusing finger at Tenshu. "I can't believe you peeped on me and Soku! I don't even want to know what you were doing!" As she shouted she jumped in the air and started to wave her arms. Than the thought of Tenshu doing something gross while watching Baako came in mind. Out of know where she puked. The meal that Soku and herself had earlier was now on the forge's floor.
Baako than started to dry heave. The thought really traumatized her, and the images just disturbed her. She stood there a moment, her hands on her knees as she was coughing up the last of the puke.
"You are a nasty old man!" she managed to say as she took in deep breaths.

Tenshu looked at Soku with a dumbfounded expression as Baako accused him of peeping. Soku shrugged and opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the sound of the kunoichi's vomit splattering against the forge's floor.
"Well that was money well spent." Soku thought to himself as he knelt down beside Baako and placed his hand on her back. He wasn't really sure what else he could do, mostly because he had no idea why Baako was throwing up.
"It wasn't like that." Soku explained to the gasping kunoichi, "He walked in when Nana busted in and tackled you off of me."
"Actually I came in at the part where she tore your shirt off." Tenshu added in.
Soku turned his head and glared daggers at the old shinobi. "You're not helping your case, old man." his tone had a dangerous edge to it.

Baako looked up with more tension in her eyes. She felt embarrassed and for some reason gross. She didn't understand why. Was it cause someone saw her doing things to Soku. Or was it cause she was uncomfortable about the situation. She was confused but what she did know was that Tenshu needed to hush up. Baako stood up and stepped over the puddle of vomit. She walked up to Tenshu and jabbed her finger on his chest. Her sharp nails, how ever did penitrate the old mans leathery skin.
"Have you ever heard of Privacy! You had no right!" She spoke harshly. She didn't care if she gave the man pain, since she felt that she was intruded. "I should punch right now!" Baako grinded her teeth she was really upset at this point, her face turning flush.

Tenshu looked down at Baako with an expression that was torn between annoyance and amusement. He was annoyed because the kunoichi's sharp fingernail was digging into his torso, but he was amused at the woman's fiery attitude. He could tell she was embarrassed about the whole thing, so instead of saying something to make her even more angry the bannin simply held his hands in the air and said, "Listen, it's not like I pulled up a chair and whipped out a pair of binoculars." He gestured towards the door behind him and added, "I was just on my way to grab a beer from the fridge when I saw you two."
Then the blacksmith folded his muscular arms across his chest defensively and said, "And considering how I own this forge, I have every right to go where I damn well please."
Soku's groan could be heard from behind the kunoichi. He was already regretting the decision to tell Baako about Tenshu walking in on them, but the old man wasn't even trying to help calm her down.
"But I have to admit." Tenshu said with his usual jolly grin stretching across his face, "I'm glad that boy finally found himself a nice girl. Maybe he should give Rai a few pointers."
At that Soku couldn't help but flash a roguish smirk at his foster father. "I'd say the nice girl found him." Soku muttered to himself as he searched for something to clean up Baako's vomit with.

Baako's right ear twitched and she started to walk backwards, holding herself.
"I am sorry Tenshu, I didn't mean to disrespect you and your home." She sighed, she felt aweful for getting way over her head. She suppose her emotions needs alot more work.

She than turned slightly, but as she did she slipped and landed on her bottom right in the puke. Causing the half chewed food and bile to splatter. "GOD DAMN IT!" she cursed, she felt embarrassed and gross all at the same time. She than tried to get back up but slipped and her back fell in the puddle. Causing the mess to spread. "Fuck!" She cursed again, this time the smell and feeling of the vomit grossed her out even more.

Tenshu bent at the knees and grabbed on to the kunoichi's hand. He pulled her to her feet then casually glanced at Soku, who was still busy on the far side of the forge filling a bucket with water and grabbing a mop to notice Baako's cursing or less than graceful fall.
"No disrespect taken, little lady." he said with a kind smile. "Just don't break the kid's heart." His face became suddenly serious and his voice lowered so only Baako would hear him. His tone also had sense of warning to it. Tenshu might not act it sometimes, but when it came to Soku and Rai the old shinobi looked at them as his own sons. The last thing he wanted to see was either of them go through any more grief. "He's going to need someone to take care of him after I'm gone."
A moment later Soku returned with a bucket full of water and a mop, a look of confusion spread over his face as he looked at Baako stained with her own vomit. "Are you alright?" he asked in a concerned tone. "Do you want to sit down or something?"
After asking this, Soku dunked the end of the mop into the bucket of cold water. But before he could even begin mopping Tenshu grabbed the mop from his hands and said, "It's fine, I've got this. You kids go to a picture show or whatever it is young people do for fun now."

Baako looked at Tenshu with confusion. What does he mean when he is gone? Is he going some where? Baako gave Tenshu an assuring smile. Before looking at her clothing. She felt extremely sick as the smell of her clothing became nearly unbearable. Hearing Soku, Baako turned towards him and smiled slightly.
"Yes and No. I am okay as in I am not hurt. But I do not smell ok." She than laughed. The situation was funny to her. Here's her beloved looking at her and she is all gross but he is still concerned.
Baako than heard Tenshu suggest something for her and Soku to do and she glared at him. Her ears perked and her arms crossed. " No offense Tenshu, but I don't think I look or smell like going out in public." She than looked at Soku and turned around in a full circle to show the damage of the vomit that stained her butt and back.

Rai sat on the wall behind the forge watching all the nonsense going on down in the forge. He smiled. Soku had a glow that he definitely recognized that after glow from a night of passion. He couldn’t tell on Baako, but she always glowed with a sort of passion. He sighed. 3 long months he had been traveling. He needed the hermitage to think about himself. He looked fondly at Baako, he hadn’t seen her in two years. To think he used to think she was gonna be all his and now… He wasn’t even the slightest bit angry at Soku, that part of himself was long gone. He remembered fondly the memories of his “tail chasing” days. He shook his head and snapped back to the present.
Rai sighed, heavily. The bustling city life of Kumo was already getting to him after spending 3 months in a small hut in the middle of a swamp. He would go back eventually but for now he and Soku had unfinished business to attend to.
He jumped down from his perch on the wall and slung his pack over his shoulder casually, and walked towards the back door of the forge. He took his slow time walking towards the doorway. He stepped through the door way and looked at Baako. Then Soku, then Tenshu. He smiled slightly and flipped his hair out of his eyes revealing the massive scar over his right eye.
”Hey guys…How’s it going?”

Soku's head spun around at the sight of someone walking through the forge's entrance, he had expected the man to be a client looking for a new weapon. His eyes widened in surprise for a moment when he realized that his younger brother had returned from god knows where. But he quickly regained his composure and flashed a crooked grin at his little brother as if he hadn't been gone for the last three months.
But before he could even reply Tenshu spoke up. "We were doing great until your ugly mug showed up." Even though his words seemed hurtful both Soku and Rai would be able to tell that it was just his way of saying welcome back. After saying this the bannin began mopping up the puke from the forge's concrete floor as if Baako, Rai, and Soku weren't even there.
"What he said." Soku said with another grin and a laugh.

Rai did his best to ignore the smell of vomit. He grinned and hugged her back. He ignored his brother and Tenshu's statements. He plopped down on the ground with no regard for the various pieces of jagged metal laying around nor for the puddle of puke Tenshu was mopping, He sighed and leaned his head back against a wall. Then with a slight half grin he stared from Soku, to Baako.
So...What did I miss? he kept his sly smirk.

Soku grinned at the sight of Baako greeting Rai despite his little brother's questionable habits around women. The special jounin seemed different somehow, and he wasn't talking about the massive scar on the right side of his face. Plus he couldn't deny the fact that he had been worried about his younger brother and he was relieved that he had returned relatively unharmed.
As Rai got comfortable, Soku pulled up a pair of stools for Baako and himself. Then the special jounin wandered over to the fridge and pulled out two bottles of beer and a can of iced tea. He listened to Rai's question as he tossed the tea to Baako and the bottle of beer to his little brother.
"Erm..." Soku muttered as he sat down on one of the stools and looked at Baako with an embarrassed expression. "Well, as far as the forge goes, it's been same ol' same ol'." Soku said as he twisted the cap off of the bottle in his hands and took a quick sip.
"And I bet you can already guess that our old team has completely fallen apart." Soku added casually.

Baako caught the can of tea and smiled at Soku. Returning to her beloveds side, she sat on the stool and popped the top of the can, taking a sip of the nectar. Her ears than twitched as she noticed the scar of Rai's face. "How did you get that scar Rai?" Baako was very blunt about her questions and her curiosity didn't even help one bit. She couldn't deny not being happy to see Rai again. Even though when they first meet he was a pervert and had feelings for her. Which come to think of it. Rai probably feels uncomfortable with the fact that Baako feel in love with Soku. Which makes for a pretty interesting triangle of things. Instead of going for temptation, Baako refuses to hurt this family. And made it clear to Rai that she only has those feelings for Soku and that she only thinks of Rai as a friend.
Baako sitting on the stool sipping on her can of tea, waited for Rai's answer.

Rai smiled and caught the beer. Then charged the bottle with energy and tossed it into the yard. A small pop indicated the explosion of the beer. Sober for 2 months now Soku..but thanks Rai looked up at them sitting on the stools and smiled. Baako asked about his scar. A million lies about various daring adventures went through his head. then he sighed heavily
Well...I'd love to say its a long story, but it isn't really. I was in the middle of withdrawals about my third week out. I had passed out under a rotting log which just so happened to be the den of a wild boar. He came home and was very angry. I woke up to the flesh on my face being torn. And thats how i got the scar.
Rai let his tale sink in for a minute and pulled a water skin out of his pack and sipped from it.
I know not exactly a daring tale

"I could have drank that..." Soku muttered quietly as he watched Rai toss the bottle of beer out the door, where it exploded with a small pop a short while after. But Soku's expression from annoyed to amazed when his little brother revealed that he had stopped drinking during the time that he had been away.
"That's great, congrats." Soku said with a nod just before Baako asked her question, either unaware of how blunt she had worded it or too curious to care. But Soku had to admit, he was a bit intrigued as well.
The special jounin listened intently as Rai spoke, even Tenshu appeared to be focusing his attention on his youngest son for a moment or two. Soku only stifled his laugh because he knew Baako would have clubbed him in the head if he even smiled at the idea of Rai being beaten up by a pissed off pig, so instead he simply asked, "Rai, where in the hell did you even go? As far as I know Kumo doesn't have any wild boars wandering around."

Baako's ears twitched as Soku confronted Rai about the boars. He was right, and being as curious as she is she was not going to tell Soku to stop pestering Rai with questions. But being curtious Baako stood up from sitting from the Stool and went to get Rai a can of tea. When she returned the top was already popped and she handed it to Rai, smiling as she done so.
Taking a few steps back Baako sat back into her seat and continued to sip from her tea. "Rai your lucky you can even see" She commented before taking another sip.

Rai sighed heavily...he knew that was gonna come up. He took a long drink from the can of tea and began.
Well I left here and crossed though a huge mountain pass and descended into a lush valley. That trip took me about a week. I camped out down there. That's when i first got the shakes. Not a pleasant two days. But i moved on into a massive cave. I spent two days wandering around in the darkness. I finally found an exit to the cave and was on a massive plain. Nothing but scrub grass and huge beasts as far as the eye could see.Except far off a wall of green edged the plains. So i ran for two days straight and finally reached the forest. That night was the wild boar attack. Then I made a small shanty and have been living there in deep meditation and heavy training till about a month and a half ago.
Rai finished the first half of his tale and finished the tea letting it sink in to his teammates.

Soku's facial expression didn't change as Rai told his story, but several thoughts popped into the special jounin's head as he listened. Deep meditation? Deciding to quit drinking cold turkey? Shanty?! Where was all of this coming from, the man sitting on the ground in front of him was entirely an different person than before. He even spoke differently than the old Rai.
But really, was he Soku so different himself? Over the past two years, and especially in the last few days, his whole personality had seemed to change entirely. Maybe the Douteki brothers were finally growing up.
"Sounds like you've had it pretty rough." Soku muttered, unsure of what else he could say.

Baako's listened intently, sipping on her tea. She tried to picture Rai getting the "shakes" but when she did it looked more like Rai doing the Tunak Tunak Tun. Which could be a possibility, since people do crazy things when they are withdrawing. Baako than remembered her trip and smiled.
"Yea it does sound like you hard a hard time. Which is funny cause when I was on my trip. I was getting thrown out of the bars and what nots cause of the Sake. But when I stopped drinking it I never got the shakes." Baako's ears twitched as the memories of her getting drunk and making a huge ruckus at one of the Saki huts. It took 3 men to get her out of that hut.
"Yea, maybe its a good thing I don't drink that stuff" She than nodded and sipped her tea.

Rai remembered when he first got Baako drunk and smiled at the memory. Then took a deep breath and began again.
Well living out there for almost a week i began to notice during my training that shapes and shadows were appearing in the corners of my vision. I knew i was being watched. But I had no idea by whom. Finally after nearly a month after they first started appearing the shadows showed themselves. Hunter nin. From here. Turns out they thought I had gone rogue. The forest i was in was apparently in the fire country. So naturally these two just thought I was selling secrets to The Fire Country. I tired explaining to them that I was simply trying to find myself but they insisted on a fight. It was brutal. Destroyed my hut and everything, but in the end i managed to best them and escape, don't worry i didn't kill them. But I ran into the woods and circled around until i found the plains. Then began my long journey home. So here I am. You know i never thought about this but the hunter nin may track me here....
Rai's smiled slowly faded as he realized that his friends and family may be in danger because of his mistake.

Soku's eyes widened when he realized that his brother was right, if those hunter nin thought that Rai had gone rogue the first place they would look for information about him was here. The brown haired special jounin got to his feet in a hurry and said, "He's right, it's only a matter of time until they discover you've returned to the village. And once they do I doubt they'll politely ask for you to turn yourself in, they'll use force."
Then he turned to the kunoichi sitting beside him and said, "It isn't safe for you to stay here anymore, Baako. I want you to go home and --"
"Don't worry about it, you spazz." Tenshu interrupted from the other side of the forge. It appeared that he had managed to clean the mess Baako had made and was now tidying up his work bench for tomorrow's next project.
Soku scoffed. "Yeah, hunter nin are after my little brother and now everyone in this room is in danger. No biggie." the special jounin retorted, his tone laced with sarcasm and venom.
Tenshu sighed and said, "Listen, if anyone shows up looking for Rai I'll explain what happened. The Raikage and I are actually pretty good friends, if worse comes to worse I'll just have a chat with him. He'll understand."
Though it didn't look like Soku was completely convinced the problem was solved he sat back down anyway. "You'd better be right about this, old man." was all Soku said before taking another sip from the bottle in his hand.
